A fast cut -- youre in and out pretty quickly -- even during lunch. Magazines and a good variety of barber personalities. Barbers face you toward the street so you get to watch the goings on on Davis. The German (?) woman gives a sublime cut and the old timer (John?) makes you feel good about being human and choosing this shop.

Ive been to 2 barbershops in the area. Refuge for men is overpriced for what you get. The first place I ever went to was the William Byrd Barber Shop. I think they raised their prices to $17 for a haircut. For the city prices theyre amazing. I dont go anywhere else.

The address is 800 N Davis Av. $16 is actually a great price. Hair Cuttery is $18. Wm Byrd is just as good. I like the street view too. I got a quick, simple haircut with simple, friendly service.

Quality of cut and friendliness = Excellent A little pricey though: $16 for a cut, comes to 18-19 after tip which is pretty high I feel, so I gave them a 2 - "very good"

This place looks like a dank, partially gutted out of business Chinese restaurant on the inside. But they are very good at cutting a modern haircut. I continue to go.
