Ive stayed here a number of times and it is one of the better choices in the area. This last trip was disappointing on a number of levels. First, the room had a musty stale smell as soon as I opened the door. I had to turn the fan on and open the balcony door to air it out. My morning shower was luke warm at best. I asked the desk if there were reports of no hot water and they replied with "yeah, there was a water leak, we told late check ins to run their water for a while". I guess those were after 8 pm check ins. There were no parfait offerings for breakfast which I was looking forward to, the OJ was the kind you would use for mixed drinks and I had to wait for a stirrer for my coffee because nothing had been restocked. The girl waiting on me seemed like she wanted to do something else maybe mpre important. That night I decided to eat dinner in since I was on conference calls till 8 and when I went to order I was disappointed they were out of the signature cheddar and broccoli soup, so I chose the quesadillas only to be informed they were out of Monterey jack so they would use extra chedder. When I got it I was disappointed again since it was soggy, cold and just not good. Overall the stay was just ... well disappointing. I know they can do better. On a positive note the front desk manager recognized me from previous stays and welcomed me back, which I always appreciate since customer service is very important. Again, I know they can do better. Maybe focus on making sure things are stocked and ready for customers. I will stay again I just hope they have the soup and hot water. Some things are uncontrollable but others is just a matter of paying attention to the details.

I am a silver member of Marriott and stay at their hotels frequently, almost exclusively, when traveling. This stay is worthy of a poor writeup. I brought my wife and kids along on this trip and saw that the hotel had both an outdoor pool and an indoor hot tub. I visited the website for this particular hotel and checked out the specifics to ensure that the kids would have the pool available. Upon arriving, the first thing you notice is that the hot tub area is closed for renovations. This is August 6th, the height of the season. Nothing was noted about this on the website, something that could be easily done. The gym was 13 feet by 20 feet and had more equipment crammed in there per square foot than any other place I had ever seen. You would be literally on top of one another if you used it. Every other room in the hotel, including the hallway, has air conditioning, but the gym is a hot box with FANS in it for cooling-- no A/C. When my daughter and I went out to the pool at 8:45pm, it was closed, despite the signs that said it would be open until 10pm. The front desk staff advised that "thunderstorms were passing through". When I advised that they had passed through and that the sky was clear, she added that the chlorine levels must be off-- an almost laughable, spontaneously made up excuse. So while the rooms may be nice, there is nothing else the hotel offers for kids despite what it says. Nothing else about this place is worth the Marriott name. Breakfast is $12 to boot.

As a frequent traveler for work this was hands down the worst "Marriott" experience Ive ever had. Upon check I immediately felt like I was being treated differently than the guests before me. The service and attention for my questions about restaurant options and directions. The desk attendant was so busy helping the customer before me that he swiped my card and mistakenly charged me for her room. And although her reversed the charge the hold was still there and my charge was declined. I then had to use another card. The rooms and conditions are aged. The lobby was decent and fairly new. Although the hotel had a Starbucks it was never open. When I checked out at noon it was closed. Lastly, check out... I was traveling alone with my kids and requested a late check out however they cut off my key access at 11am. So as I am loading up the car with luggage I was locked out of the building and my room. Poor customer service all around.

How this is even called a Marriott Im not sure Im embarrassed for Marriott the room is terrible the hotel has a lot of cosmetic issues, the staff is not knowlegable took forever to get checked in and then I had a question while I had to wait for the manager and another employee to argue over what should and should not be discussed in front of residents which I feel like I should not be done in front of residents, the room smells like mold missing sheets the phone does not work the bathroom is disgusting the room is hot and super small I have never been in a Marriott this bad before will never be staying in this one again and have lost a lot of faith in Marriott this trip I use to only look for Marriott for a trip now that might change if its going to be the same as a 50$ a night hotel why would I pay extra

Best thing about this place was the staff hands down. Real nice people. That said, the hotel itself is just like any other Courtyard Marriott - decent. You shouldnt expect to get a crazy high end room, some of the elevator buttons didnt work, and I had to do a double take when I found out the bathroom door hit the toilet bowl. There are balconies, a cozy lobby and bistro, free WiFi but no free breakfast. Beds were comfortable and I would stay here again if I just needed a place to crash. TL;DR - Great staff, free WiFi but not free breakfast, good place to crash for a night or two, dont expect a five star room.

The building is beautiful and modern. Everything was super clean and gave a fancy vibe despite being a relatively cheap hotel for its area. The one flaw however in the room was the bathroom lock of all things, which I hope they fix. The main reason for it being relatively cheap is probably for its location. The beach is at least a 20 minute drive and nothing worthwile can be seen in its immediate vicinity. However the staff and management were also friendly and proficient at what they do. As long as you have a car to use on your own its a good option for vacationing at virginia beach.

Staff was friendly. Maybe because the reservation for a group was made by one person, but I wasnt informed of the option to add breakfast and only learned that there was an option when I heard it announced to another guest checking in. Starbucks was very limited and more expensive than the normal Starbucks shop. Housekeeping NEVER cleaned my room although they cleaned other rooms across from me. I had to take my used towels and washcloths down to get fresh sets and it appeared to be okay with management. No microwave in the room. Refrigerator didnt get drinks very cold.

This hotel from the beginning offered good service when I checked in around noon, but the midnight shift desk reception staff was completely rude when I called down because the bedding in my room was not clean. The receptionist even went as far to tell me that she could hear my guest in my room and that we were too loud even though she failed to realize the person she was hearing was standing right next to me having a conversation at normal speaking volume. Worst experience ever plus we still didnt receive clean bedding. Will never stay again.
