So I had 2 friends who wanted to work out with me, I called ahead and talked to a employee about my issue and he said no problem, well take care of you. I though that was really generous of him however I go there and I explain the conversation I had with the guy on the phone , lets call him "w" and at first the staff said ok, but then this other guy said "thats not allowed" I continue to explain what "w" said and how he left something for the other staff but this guy kept ignoring me. Like even if Im wrong listen dont just shut me out. But anyways I was like whatever. Ill just get one of them a day pass. So I wait for my friends to get here and we walk in together.. So we go up to the desk and Im like "shes my guest and hes getting a guest pass/day pass." I have 10$ prepared because I saw on the website a day pass/guest pass was $10, This woman who wasnt even serving me came over to us like it was her due diligence, then she looks at me as if Im up to no good and says "no its $20" in the rudest tone Ive ever heard. I say "on the website it says $10" and I showed them the screenshot on my phone, with it clearly saying $10. And she again said "no its $20" , again with a rude tone. Now luckily one of my friends had $20 so as he began to fill out the form she continuously gave us attitude. And she had the nerve to say "I saw you arguing with my co-worker over there and that was very disrepectful, he knows what hes talking about, I dont wanna see that ever again" now I decided to remain calm because I could of said so much more... But I said o-k. And before I could finish this woman cuts me off and says "and I know you were lying about being able to being 2 for free people because thats against policy and I dont know who told you that" and at this point shes saying all these negative things to me... And shes giving me a lecture on stuff I dont care about at all.And I really did want to go, I was about to end my member ship honestly, that was unprofessional and rude. She took it way too far. I didnt appreciate how she was treating me like a child, talking to me as if she was my mom, that was too far ( Im thinking of reporting her but not sure yet) I dont recommend this planet fitness for anyone. Every other one Ive been to was decent or above this this one was just horrible, and she kept looking at us while we were working out and I could tell she was talking to her co-workers about us... The whole thing was just unprofessional. I expected better

This fitness center in VB is the mere reason I quit the Black Card membership. From sun up to sundown and well after, its constantly very warm and humid in this place, thus allowing the survival and possible replication upon unsuspecting members. I originally obtained the Black Card so that when I visit friends in VB, I could come to this location which is around the corner from a friends place and keep up my workout regimen. But almost every time I went there, I ended up getting sick or at least feeling sick after working out due to the moist atmosphere. Its gross. I understand that the place is huge, but it seems to be a mecca for the masses to work out and blow off steam -- which actually doesnt seem to disperse very well. I wish I could say something nice about the location. The locker room is less humid than the gym, very roomy, plenty of stalls and showers. The fact that its cooler, temperature-wise in the locker seems backwards to me. So in the end, I just cant justify paying $20 a month when I fear for my health every time I visit the VB Planet Fitness when visiting in town. Even with the other location near Great Neck, this location is still over-packed and just straight gnarly. Bleh -_-

My husband and I wanted to join Planet Fitness because of the theory, you could go there 24 hours a day, no pressure, work at your own speed, etc.... I completed the paperwork and took it to the Holland Road location. They could accept mine but because of "privacy laws" they couldnt accept his. We went to the gym on an early Saturday afternoon so he submit his paperwork (which they kept), but they couldnt find his paperwork. Instead of having him complete another set, he was told he would have to wait for the manager to call him. The manager never called. My husband was having second thoughts about joining this place at this point. That was the first week in January. We just received a bill for $20. I called to find out what this was for and was told it was for his membership. To bring the account current we needed to pay $40. I asked where the $20 came from and was told I would have to call back Monday morning to talk to the manager. I called this morning and was told the manager wouldnt be in til afternoon. Another person took the phone and said the manager wouldnt be in today. The young lady was abrasive and rude. She then hung up on me.

I like this place other than if you want to use the 30 minute room. I like to use that room when I really dont have a lot of time to workout. Problem is, seems the employees do no monitor it like the signs state. I have never seen an employee come in and make sure people are using it correctly. There are always people sitting on the machines doing long sets or bouncing around all out of order instead of moving with the red/green lights. 90% of the people in there are never doing what the room is intended for. So, it is pretty annoying and I dont feel like it should be up to me to explain this to every person sitting on a machine. People get attitudes and become defensive when you say something to them. I end up giving up and just using cardio equipment to avoid confrontations over and over. Other than that, the place is clean and huge with tons of equipment and the staff is friendly. Just wish the 30 minute room situation would be fixed. Although I am not sure what could be done about it other than having a designated room monitor since people cant just follow the instructions.

The good- the place is clean and taken care of, anytime something is broken it gets replaced quickly. The lockers are free and always available. Bathrooms are clean and they have changing stalls. There are 3 showers. They have a trainer you can schedule time with to setup a workout plan for free. There are lots of cardio machines and tvs on several channels pointed at them. The bad- to many members: the parking is terrible for the amount of members the gym has. In the hours after work between 4-8 its to busy to use the weight machines and sometimes even all the treadmills are taken. They only have one 20 lb kettle bell thats near impossible to get. They also dont do any fitness classes here although for the price its expected. To sum it up. If your just looking for cardio you will probably be ok but if your into serious weight training and you have to go in the afternoon then you will have to fight to the death to get use the equipment you want if you can find a space in the parking lot.
