terrible experience. The salon, if you can call it that, was filthy. Brenda the lady that did my hair raked my scalp with the brush. it was almost like my 2 year old niece was playing in it. when i asked her to turn the blow dryer down she said if its not hot it wont get straightened. then she used a flat iron with the coating burned off so my hair kept getting snagged in it. the sink area was filthy as well. She took phone calls, drank her sweet tea, and constantly went to the bathroom while doing my hair. I would not recommend and i would definitely never go back. the only reason i stayed was because my blow dryer was still in my packed boxes as i just moved to Virginia.

The pics online are not of THIS salon. Its a small rinky dink whole in the wall. The reviews must be from employees. Made an appt for 9 am which is what I was told was the earliest appt (when they open). When I got there there were already 2 people being serviced. Waited around until 940 the stylist never showed up. The owner followed me to my car to ask me if I was coming back because her stylist was on the way & she didnt want her wasting her time. No apology for wasting my time. They completely misrepresented themselves on their website.

They really care about your hair here. Some places when you ask questions they get annoyed, they do a so-so job take your money and kick you as quickly as you came in; here they take their time explain things to you tell you when to come back what to do in the mean time and are honest. I said I wanted to dye my hair and she flat out told me no, you need to get it healthy first and learn to take care of it before you add chemicals to it and I can respect that, thats how you get return customers.

The ladies here do a good job everytime I visit. Miriam does very good braids and Victoria, the owner, is always welcoming and jolly. Since I first visited Fabulous City hair salon, I havent gone anywhere else.
