I went there the other day, I drove all the way from Chesapeake, only to be ignored the total time I was there. (This has happened before there...) I went in looking for foundation and received NO help whatsoever. I wasnt even greeted. I was in the store for 20 minutes and watched everyone around me get help, and no one ever even acknowledged me. The store manager walked past me twice, the last time, walking BEHIND me to help some lady beside me. I was trying to figure out if I had 3 heads or something, I didnt look horrible, I just got off work.... The final straw was when some blonde haired lady that worked there gave a me "look" before helping someone that had already been helped by the store manager. I walked out. When I got home, I called to speak to the store manager, who apologized but could not give me an answer as to WHY I was ignored. I repeated conversations that had taken place between she and other customers and the blonde haired lady, just so she KNEW I was there and was earshot from all of the customer service the other people were getting. She said I should come back to the store so they could get to know me and I could get to know the people that work there. Oh NOW you want to get to know me....She acted as though she cared but her tone of voice was very patronizing...Then she asked what she could do to make me happy, and I said, "Provide good customer service to everyone". I explained that I am not from this area and the ULTA in my hometown in Charlotte,NC ALWAYS is above and beyond par. I told her they really fell short and that I was displeased, period. Still dissatisfied because I didnt get any make-up, I went to SEPHORA at Lynnhaven Mall. All I can say is that Irene and Tonya were awesome, actually, everyone was NICE and greeted me, asked me if I NEEDED help, but were NOT PUSHY. I found some super great make-up from MAKE-UP FOREVER and also bought a lipstick. I signed up for their rewards card there and counting my points from my purchase, I am only 50 points from my 1st freebie! Unlike ULTA, where I have been buying and buying and buying and still havent reached a free gift yet. You only have to have 100 points at SEPHORA to get a free gift. SO, my advice: IF you have been to ULTA on Princess Anne Rd. and you have also had a crappy experience where they act as though they are doing you a favor by ringing you up, then go to SEPHORA. Overall, they have the MORE make-up (some of the same stuff as Ulta) except they have awesome brands like: Laura Mercier, Make-up Forever, Nars, just to name a few. The ladies there are NICE and HELPFUL and act like they LIKE CUSTOMERS and you get free samples AND most importantly, you leave HAPPY. Good bye ULTA, I work too hard for my money to have to BEG to spend it at your store. I am making sure I tell everyone about this

I have read all the review about this place-especially the lengthy one, and I was surprised! Based on Romis review I had the opposite experience. Even though I was immediately greeted, a sales person made eye contact with me and said hi after awhile. That was ok, since it gave me a chance to look around without any pressure of talking to anyone. The sales clerk was with other customers and I noticed she was working hard to juggle all of them. I approached her and asked her a couple of questions. She answered, showed me some different products, and took out the testers so I could play with them. I knew this was a way to keep me entertained so she could check on other people. I got what I wanted and proceeded to check out. Overall, it was a nice visit. The cashier even updated me on the upcoming events. So I signed up for some! So how was my visit over all? It was nice. Not a visit that blew me away....but I dont need that! I did find out later that the person helping me was a manager. So it was nice that they have time for people on the floor! Do I think that there is room for error? Yes. But that goes for all stores. I really dont think that people are intentionally ignored. Ive been to sephora and theyve ignored me many times. I dont think I was truly being ignored, I think sales people have a lot. On their plates. Companies have cut back a lot, including their hours. I have family that work retail so I know. They do the best they can. And what I cant figure out is what that girl needed from the store manager? The store manager called and apologizes, and even asked what she could do for her. And she still put her on blast! That phone call alone is more than what most stores would do! GO TO ULTA. Have fun! Play with make up! Bring your friends!

I entered the store with no acknowledgement. A sales lady gave me the once over glace but did not offer assistance. I was in the store for at least 20 minutes trying to locate make up, shadows, etc. Most of everything was out of stock. About 10 minutes after my arrival the same sales lady ran up to a different customer and asked if she needed help with anything. I dont understand the different attitudes in terms of customer service. You should never judge a book by its cover. I am a doctor with a 6 figure income-just happen to like wearing jeans on my days off. I have never had a good experience with Ulta. I dont plan to return.

I just moved here and was super excited that Ulta was so close but oh man worst customer service ever. At about 5 P.M. today I nicely asked for help when she was done with her other customer. She replies to me with a rude "yah" then she leaves and completely forgets about me. I let it go and she ends up being my cashier. I was doing an exchange and she was rolling her eyes telling me she had to get the manager for a over ride. Then my man came and all of a sudden she was nice. Wow! Keep it classy ulta! Oh and the manager was at the cash register next to her. I guess she likes to hire rude people cause she didnt even care.

My sister had to go to her prom today and they completely ruined her makeup. She actually took it off as soon as she left. She had to go to sephora and get her makeup fixed. The makeup artist at sephora were shocked that it cost 40 dollars and got no product to get her makeup done when it didnt even look good. We will never go back and that makeup artist should be ashamed of her self.

I have been to other Ultas and received good service. The service at this location is poor at best. The thing that bothers me the most though is their nail polish selection. It is NEVER stocked. I have been in there at least 5 times now and most of the nail section is empty and unorganized! I think I will take my service somewhere that can keep the store clean and well stocked.

Only go to ULTA for beauty products!! BEWARE the salon! My friend went to the ULTA salon to get her eyebrows waxed and came out with a damaged face including second degree burns and ripped skin all around her eyes. They obviously hire unqualified beauticians to run their salon and allow customers to enter at their own risk. SHAMEFUL!
