I am at a total loss to figure out how they made a cake that is so totally unlike what we discussed. I am quite upset as I wanted it to be beautiful for the special event and person and I was embarrassed to take it but had no choice. For $42 for a 9 inch cake, I expect excellent decorating & a wonderful flavor, not a cake with scrunched up writing and some flowers that appear to be made by a beginner. They didnt do it in the colors I requested, substituted a dark green for what should have been pale aqua with some pale pink?!?! Not even close. They substituted tiny icing figures for what should have been 1 inch sugar ones around the outside border. I asked about the box damaging the edges and the woman acted as if I was nuts. Guess what, they were all smashed by the too small box they packed it in. I will stick with Martins bakery from now on, Ive had better looking cakes that tasted as good or better for far less money.

I use to frequent them more often. But the last three times I went there with in the last few months I have been so disappointed. The variety treat box with brownies, lisner bar, pecan bar etc. was not defrosted and when I bit in to a few pieces they were still hard. The second time I went I tried the individual bar the raspberry lisner and it was also not completely defrosted but I also bought the pimento cheese and that was excellent. The third time I went I got a chocolate cupcake and a piece of raspberry sour cream pound cake. Chocolate cupcake was really dry and had no flavor. The raspberry sour cream pound cake was also dry and tasteless. I remember growing up and they were the staple cake place for our family and the go to place here but I cant say I would purchase anything there again. I figured the first time was a fluke but I tried two other times and the best thing I purchased was the pimento cheese.

We had lunch from the menu. It was delicious. The avacado blt was good, the orzo salad was scrumptious! My companions had the ham salad wrap with the orzo salad, the chicken salad wrap with red bliss potato salad and a hot ham sandwich with orzo salad. (I dont recall the name from the menu). All of the servings were a good size and well made. The were also delicious! I would have liked a larger serving of orzo salad because it is so tasty. We purchased a medium sized carrot cake to take home. It was gorgeously decorated and very delicious! The frosting is so rich and there are chunks of nuts and other tasty bits evenly distributed throughout the cake. You can only Dare eat a small slice of this cake because it is so rich! We will be visiting the bakery often.

We chose to book Carrot Tree for our wedding catering at the Watermens Museum. Dave Garrett was awesome with planning the details and answering questions the whole way through. We were more than pleased with our buffet. We had turkey, beef, mashed potatoes, and macaroni which were all kept hot and tasted great. The pimento cheese on toast points were a huge hit with our guests. The cake was so beautiful and we received the most compliments on this from our guests. The staff were very accommodating and helpful on our wedding day which put us at ease so that we were able to enjoy our day. Thank you to Dave and the wonderful staff at Carrot Tree for being a critical part of our day.

Im an 80-year-old Pennsylvanian who spent his recent birthday in Williamsburg. I had two lunches at Carrot Tree Kitchens and enjoyed both of them. At the first lunch, I ordered my birthday cake; at the second one, I picked it up. My guests only ate half of the cake (I ordered a larger one in case I had more people show up), and I brought the remaining half back to Pennsylvania with me and kept it in the fridge in Ziploc bags.Three weeks later, I was just finishing up the cake! It kept very well and was still moist and delicious. If you need a cake for a party in Tidewater, Virginia, I highly recommend Carrot Tree Kitchens ... and have lunch while youre there!

I applaud the efforts of this brave entrepreneurial family that are defying a government shutdown to provide jobs and gainful employment to their staff. I hope that the local community will come out and support them and let the folks know inside and outside the beltway that Freedom and the ability to determine your own destiny is what has made our country great. The government needs to get out of the way of the private sector and not regulate us. Thanks for your bravery and courage. Our forefathers fought for your freedom to take these actions. Stand up and support this restaurant!

I can not believe how amazing they are!!!! I had to plan a wedding in a week and they stepped right up and were amazing! They made a mouthwatering Chocolate cake with Ivory Butter Cream and White paisley decorations. I have never seen someone create such a flawless cake in such limited amount of time! I expected that I would see chocolate flakes (knowing how hard it is to have a chocolate cake with ivory icing) but no!!!! It was perfection and looked as smooth as fondant!!!! I would definitely recommend them!!!

Great combination of bakery and lunch place for our visit today. The server was friendly and accommodating to done dietary restrictions that did not immediately mesh with the menu. The real cherry top though was dessert. The gluten free cupcake, chocolate cupcake, and chocolate chess pie were all thoroughly enjoyed by the family. This is an excellent place to stop of you are in the Jamestown area.

Amazing fresh lunches and incredible carrot cake (Im not even a big carrot cake fan normally, but their carrot cake is just incredible)! I have been eating here for years and it is always a lovely meal! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Even after moving away no other place compares! A must visit if you are a local or touring the area.

This is a great bakery! I got their cinnamon walnut rolls and apple turnovers. Both blew me away with how delicious they were. I was a but nervous spending as much as I did on pastries for fathers day, but it was completely worth it. The customer service was also friendly and prompt!

This place is so incredible! It much better than youre going to expect from the looks of the outside old motel! Incredible menu; I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time. Our family loved everything we ordered. All home made foods and baked goods.
