This establishment is completely unprofessional and would benefit from new management. And this is considered their "signature club"? What a joke. I went in a couple days ago to look around to see if this was a gym Id like to join. First things first, the employee at the front desk was completely un-attentive; I could have walked right by no problem and worked out for as long as Id liked, which means anyone else could too. Next I asked to speak to a sales manager. This guy named Aaron comes out and wants to give me a tour when all I really want is to try the gym a time or two, but I get it, they kind of have to do this so I oblige. As we are walking around he starts talking to me about how I would seriously benefit from a personal trainer and a nutrition program. Now, dont get me wrong, Im not Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime or anything, but compared to this guy (who looks like he couldnt handle the ten pound dumbbells and "diets" on ice cream and cocoa puffs) Im doing quite alright. It was pretty insulting and even after I told him multiple times that I wasnt interested he kept pushing the issue. Whatever.. I let it slide in an attempt to get the tour over with. The worst part of this whole ordeal came when Aaron decided he needed to pick on one of their members who was minding his own business lifting some weights. I didnt even notice the guy until the manager that was giving me the tour suddenly yelled over to him that he needed to quiet down! I couldnt believe it. He publicly humiliated this guy for absolutely no reason at all. The guy looked a little confused and Im not even sure he knew the manager was yelling at him or if he was yelling at someone else. Then the manager, even louder than before, yells to the guy about 30 or 40 feet away that he needs to be quiet or he wont be allowed to workout there anymore! That was it for me! I had no idea I was taking a tour of Planet Fitness or whatever those places are called where an alarm literally goes off if someone makes too much noise. I told the manager Aaron that I was shocked he had made it to a management position and that I wouldnt be joining the club. The tour was over for me and I walked out. As Im leaving Aaron yells to me that I "need them" and that Im "not going to reach my health and fitness goals anywhere else". This coming from a guy that looks like hes never made a health or fitness goal in his life! I just continued to walk out. The most shocking thing to me is that he had yelled at a paying customer; a person that literally pays that managers hourly wage with his membership fee. Totally unfair and wrong! If youre looking for a place to workout in the Bellevue area, skip L.A. Fitness. Check out 24 Hour Fitness or, if you have the coin, spring for the Bellevue Athletic Club (a beautiful facility). The only reason I even thought of getting a membership at L.A. Fitness is it would be more convenient for me at certain times, but it is absolutely not worth it. I will never step foot in one of their gyms again. The gym is just alright and the staff is absolutely unprofessional, impolite, and downright rude. If anyone from corporate is reading this, I highly suggest you look at other management options because the team you have in place right now is an absolute abomination. Aaron in particular is a terrible face for your gym and an absolutely horrible, unprofessional sales manager with no integrity. I hope this is a learning experience for you and your staff because vast improvements need to be made at your facility.

Ive been prompted to write a review because of the ongoing issues Ive observed over the past year. Here are the cons: 1) Maintenance issues: -They have difficulty retaining maintenance staff, so every month or so the person in charge of cleaning the womens locker room will quit, and weeks will go by before the person is replaced. In the meantime, the locker room doesnt get cleaned, the soap and paper towels doesnt get restocked, etc. Yuck. -I dislike the fact that the only materials provided to clean the exercise equipment before and after use are paper towels and a wall dispenser with general purpose cleaner. My previous gym provided hand towels and a spray bottle of cleaner that you could use to spray down and then wipe equipment, which I found much more sanitary. Moreover, they often fail to refill the towel dispensers in the gym, so there is NO WAY TO WIPE YOUR SWEAT (or anyone elses) off of the equipment. -The womens locker room is poorly lit. You cant see well enough to apply makeup. -No shower curtains in the womens locker room. -Standing water in one of the shower stalls. -The HVAC system has been down for the past week -- its about 90 degrees in the womens locker room and smelly. 2) General Management issues: - While I was working out in the morning before work, they closed the womens locker room without notice. When I returned from my workout at 8:30am to shower, I found that my way was blocked, and the staff informed me that the womens locker room would be closed for the next 30 minutes while an electrician changed light bulbs (it was actually closed for 45 minutes). I was told that I could shower in the pool if I had brought my swimsuit. -I pay for towel service. When I arrived this morning to work out, I was told that no towels had been delivered today. 3) Weight room - For a month they didnt have a set of 15 lb dumbbells. I was told that they were stolen(?!) but it took them forever to get another set. - The free weight room seems to cater to men. They only have one set of 8 lb dumbbells, one set of 7.5 lb dumbbells and after 10 lb, the weights jump up in 5 to 10-lb increments. There are no 3-lb dumbbells. - As mentioned above, there simply arent enough low-weight dumbbells. Period. Its almost impossible to use dumbbells under 20 lb on the weekends when its crowded. The pros: 1) There are plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, and bikes, even on weekends. 2) While not well-maintained, the womens locker room is aesthetically pleasing. The bottom line: Ive been going to this gym because its convenient and close to work. The unreliability and unpredictability of the issues that I might encounter on any given day (crowdedness, no shower, no towels, etc.) is making it much less convenient. I will be looking for a new gym when my membership is up.

This is the first time I have ever written a google review on a company but felt I had to after the absurd customer service I received... A week or so ago, I bought a lock to secure my shower items in the womens locker room. There is a sign on the lockers stating, "LA Fitness is not responsible for lost or stolen items. It is advised to not leave items in lockers overnight." I interpreted this message as being advice and not being protocol... i.e. we are not responsible for stolen items if you CHOOSE to ignore our advice and leave your items here overnight. You can imagine my surprise when I came in to find that my lock had been cut, and my shower things stored at the front desk- with my lotion missing. Nowhere does it state that locks will be CUT if they are left overnight. So at that point, I was out a lotion and a lock. I voiced this frustration to the man at the front desk and he never apologized or showed any concern- he merely shrugged and said they cut everyones locks as if I should seek solace in knowing that I wasnt the only one experiencing this frustration? I returned my items to my locker and about four days later, found that my brand new Moroccon Oil shampoo and conditioner (almost $50 a piece) were stolen. I went up to the front desk and again voiced my frustrations and the guy at the front desk smugly responded with, "Well we cut it 4 days ago... thats not our fault you havent bought a new lock and that you left your things in an unsecured locker." I was dumbfounded at his lack of concern or empathy and gathered my things to leave. I offered a sarcastic, "Thanks a lot for your help" as I left and he laughed and said, "Nooooooo problem" before turning to the other front desk worker and shaking his head. In all, I am out four items totaling over $120... all I was looking for was a little sympathy/apology/offer to replace my lock. Long story short, this gym does not care about their customers and has their noses up in the air. Yes, they have good facilities.. but that can be found elsewhere without having to deal with poor customer service and bad attitudes.
