I wish I could say I had a good experience here, but I didnt. I took a few trail classes not too long ago and was surprised at how unprofessional the owner is. There was a nice lady teaching a morning group fitness class and throughout the entire workout the owner, I think his name is Josh (?), kept correcting her and criticizing her on how she was teaching the class. It was definitely uncomfortable to watch, and other participants picked up on it too, as one guy in the class finally spoke up and said to the owner "why dont you just teach the class" with a bit of edge to his tone. I dont know if the instructor was new, but if she needed guidance on how to deliver a better class thats one thing, but correcting her multiple times in front of the class was really unprofessional and douchy. The whole situation made for a really awkward class environment. So my first complaint is that this fitness center increase their customer service skills, because its definitely lacking. Second, after one of the classes I noticed that none of the equipment was wiped down/sanitized after the class. During the class floor mats were used for some of the exercises, and they were shared among participants as they were set up at stations that participants moved through. Working out on top of other peoples sweat is really gross. Then, not sanitizing the mats afterward is even more disgusting in my opinion and definitely a turn-off as a potential client. My third complaint is that instructors who taught the class didnt pick up on the majority of poor technique habits. I know I personally have some bad technique flaws that Ive been trying to change, so I was hoping to get some feedback from the trainers. One of the classes they offer (semi private) has a max of 6 people per class - so there is no excuse for not correcting bad form and technique. I also noticed that the classes didnt have much positive energy to them. It seemed like "just another class" that the trainers were going through the motions of teaching. I wouldnt recommend this training facility. There are a lot of other great fitness studios in Kirkland worth checking out that offer better customer service and better instruction, in my opinion.

I have been nothing short of impressed and thankful for Josh and his carefully selected trainers at Embody Health! I have been attending their boot camp style classes (dont be intimidated by the words boot camp, I promise it isnt the military. Ive been in the military) for almost a year now and truly couldnt ask for anything more in terms of a high energy but low impact workouts (its easy on the joints), professional, extremely supportive trainers and an owner that knows what hes doing and cares most that you are happy and get what you need out of his programs. The service Ive received there is exemplary and I cant say enough how much I appreciate the short 30 min sessions that get me in and out, but also give me a strong, satisfying workout. I love the Trainers there and their support, encouragement, and interest in ensuring an injury free experience for all customers. It truly doesnt matter what sort of shapes you are currently in or whether youre an athlete or youve ever exercised a day in your life, all are welcome and not judged in the least bit. Rates are very reasonable considering the attention and expertise you get there. Thank you, Josh and Team!

I started working out at Embody summer 2013, and loved it - lost weight, toned up, felt amazing, got great nutrition advice, the whole package. Took a few months off as my schedule got hectic and joined back in last November. And then I found out i was pregnant. Josh has taken a lot of time (and way more research that I have found) to work with modifications as my body changes. The classes are packed with quick, high intensity, & tough workouts that never leave you disappointed. Unfortunately, I have found that I need to supplement my workouts with either a spin class or running to get that extra long cardio in to make the workout week well rounded. I highly recommend Embody to everyone in the area. Especially if you are on a tight schedule, as I usually am!

I just read the review by Tabitha and could not disagree more. I have been working out at Embody Health since September 2013 I absolutly love the workouts. I workout early morning 5:30am, 4 days a week and I look forward to it everyday. I have met great people and I love the trainers, Josh is amazing, he is always positive and has a great sense of humor. He is always working on our form so we get the best results from our hard work, Joclyn is also an awesome trainer, lisa is new but she is also a great motivator. I can honestly say that I love the variety of the workouts, the intensity and the results. I am stronger than I ever have been and more confident with the way I look and feel. I would recommend Embody Health to everyone.

Embody health is the most no-nonsense fitness center Ive ever been to. Thats because these guys and gals have an INCREDIBLY supportive community and scientifically proven workouts. Everyone knows your name. Theres tons of encouragement, and it feels like a place you can go to and just be yourself. Its like Cheers with burbees :) The place has a real "home-like" feel to it, if that makes sense. I never knew fitness could be this good! You really should check it out for yourself before all the spots are taken up (have you seen how many five-star reviews on Yelp???). Whatever your goals are, whatever your current fitness level, set an appointment with Embody. One class and youll be hooked.

Ive had the pleasure of working out at Embody Health for over 3 years. Josh is a tremendous trainer and he has the best trainers working with him. The workouts are tough yet a lot of fun. I have never gotten bored or felt like I had plateaued in my fitness goals. I never thought of myself as someone who would enjoy lifting weights, but I love it. It’s such a great feeling to know you are getting stronger and seeing the results. Using the TRX is an absolute blast, too! You only need to push yourself for 30 minutes and if you put in the effort you will quickly see awesome results. Josh really cares about your fitness, nutrition, and will do whatever he can to get you there.

I love Embody health! I started working out at embody health a year ago. I had a back injury and my back would hurt on a regular basis. I was looking for a gym that would provide strength training in a group setting. I started off with a groupon with some friends and loved my experience. After a few months, my back stopped hurting and I felt much stronger. It was the first gym Ive been to that I honestly miss when I cant make a class. In addition to the overall health benefits, I love the 30 minute classes, the instructors are great, and I have met some wonderful people. I cant say enough great things about embody health. I highly recommend it!

I moved from out of state to WA for a job and I needed to build a life beyond my work identity. The Embody family has been truly that—people who see and support me on the good days and the less-than-good days. What you get when you join: high energy workouts, post-workout socialization, "How was your day?", health and nutrition tips via email, goal-setting and the equally important goal-achieving celebrations. And, through all of this, you create friendships based on the strongest connections possible-- a commitment to healthy living! I am sincerely grateful to Josh and team.
