Warning -- They will be super nice to you to get you to sign on the line, but forget about such nice treatment after that. This establishment does not treat members as customers. Just a few complaints here... LAfit Trainer was a no-show for my training session at 11 am, even after he called to confirm the night before. As if my time is not important. He was in fact, at the club, he knew I was there (I saw someone tell him) and he was working with someone else -- but did not even bother to come over and let me know, or apologize for a double booking, or anything like that.I was waiting at the trainers desk for about 20 minutes as I was instructed to do. I finally left. He later called "on behalf of his apologies" and said he was working with someone else. I would never work with this person, the way I was treated, as if my time was not important. That was terrible. The club is continually too hot, poor circulation, especially group fitness room which is sometimes over capacity, Staff cooly maintains "it has been addressed" but nothing is solved. Poor control over hoodlums in the facility, especially the pool, which is suppose to be for "lap swim" but often it is full of teenagers engaging in horse-play and it is impossible to swim laps. It may be the youth of the staff, but there seems to be no organization in management, there is nobody to step up and take good leadership. When discussing the air conditioning , the answer a staff member actually gave was "It is all controlled at Corporate Offices... which is in another state. So here is a club with no accountability, no caring for its members, only caring to sign the next member who comes through the door. I called once to address a billing problem and was asked to give 4 names of friends and family members so they could sign them up -- as in "How can we help you if you dont help us?" They were actually trying to sell to me when I was calling to discuss a percieved problem. There, you have been warned. However, if you need a facility close to home, this may be your only choice, and then you are stuck, like me. And if you want to close your membership, you do need to get a special paper and send it certified to Corporate, When my friend did just that, the woman at the post office said that she sends off about 15 of these a day. She even had the zip-code memorized for the certified mail entry. LA fitness Covington. You are broken! I wish someone would just fix you!

I am among one of the earliest members in that gym, after they killed Miekos across the street. I actually signed up everyone in the family - it was large, open, spacious, plenty of equipment. Years down the road, I now actually drive 15 minutes - we moved - to same gym. I tried 2 different gyms closer by, no go back. This place has several issues: 1. no WiFi. People, its 2017. No WiFi? Seriously? Told management many times. Just buy a used router and make it work. Dont care. 2. I went to pool ONCE. Chlorine irritated me so much I never again will set my foot there. But, thats how they all are. Sanitary norms. If you do not mind eyes eating gas, then sure, it has large pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Enjoy it. 3. Yes indeed, equipment is cheap and breaks down constantly. Then it sits for repairs for weeks and weeks. They even have a technician now on duty - still sits and sits. Not sure where he is ordering parts from. Some things are simple small routine tightening of this or that - 2 minutes with wrenches... Dont care. 4. Worth though is torn cheap vinyl covers they have on machines. They are easily replaceable, when cracked - irritate skin and are un-hygenic, but they will keep them that way for months. Ab crunch bench in the right hand corner was like this for like 6 months. DONT CARE is sort of attitude there. I think, its because they are simply monopoly in that area and have no competition. Plus large apartment complex across the street gave them new crowd, so why bother? Staff changes fast, develops no allegiances. Pretty normal. I go there 5 am, so I have most of it available. But peak hours - no way. Its beehive. They could have easily doubled number of machines on the first floor. Plenty of room. Like I said - dont care. Until they start losing customers in masses, like Mieko did - why bother. Need competition.

3 experiences here--none great. First Ive been a member since it opened--5 or 6 years. I left my bag once in the locker room. I usually work out 2 or 3 times a week. i couldnt find my bag when I wanted to go work out so I stopped in to LA Fitness Covington see if I left it there. One of the staff said-- "yep, it has been sitting on the bench in the locker for 3 days." I had my LA Fitness card tethered to my gym bag. All one had to do is at the end of the day when it was obviously left, scan the card to get my name and phone number and call me. No one even bother. Next-- a dropped my car keys in the locker room and didnt notice they were missing until after I worked out. I drove there so I knew the keys were somewhere in the building. I asked the front desk if someone dropped off some car keys and a woman gave me a blank look and said "nope." That was it. I explained someone likely gave them to a staff member and could you ask. Nope. I got a ride home and an hour later--some one calls me from LA Fitness and says my keys are here. I knew they were! I drove there! Last straw--some thief used a bolt cutter to cut my lock off the locker and stole my wallet--just like the guy said in the other review. Not one staff cared or even acted like this was out of the ordinary. These guys are totally unprofessional and apathetic. The thief (thieves) cut my lock off and then put a different lock on my locker so I couldnt even get to my clothes. I had to walk out of the locker room into the lobby in a wet bathing suit and find a staff member to bolt cut that lock off so I can get dressed. The staff member cut the lock and walked away without saying a word. Like he didnt give a damn which he probably didnt.

I joined LA Fitness in Covington a year ago so I could swim and use the hot tub. I am 89 years old. I used to swim a mile a day and LOVE swimming. Now I can do about ten laps and use the hot tub for my joints. When I joined I could walk into the pool water and start swimming as it was warm. After about 3 months, the pool got colder. I would get in and had goosebumps all over my arms and couldnt move fast enough to warm up so got out. Since then I toe test the water every time I go and its too cold for me to swim so have just used the hot tub. The water got colder right after it was "closed" for repairs and stayed cold. My daughter who goes with me has complained almost weekly about the pool water temperature. She was told it was "82 - 84 degrees", "that there was a law that it couldnt go higher than 84", "the temp is checked regularly", and "theres nothing we can do". Now, I go to the Kent Meridian High School Pool 3x a week. Their water is 84 degrees I was told but it is warm enough for me to walk in with no goosebumps. I have talked to many, many women who belong here and they say they would use the pool if it wasnt so cold. Several women are Silver Sneakers members who dont swim because the water is too cold. Now, if this Fitness center is a partner with Silver Sneakers you would think theyd have a pool temperature conducive to those with disabilities and joint problems. Silver Sneakers pays for their membership so they can benefit from amenities like a pool. But, no, not this Fitness Club. Maybe they dont want these members or the elderly in their pool? Does discrimination come to mind?
