Whether you want to get in better shape or learn a martial art, at PMA you can reach your fitness goals. Everyone is welcomed into kickboxing class where people of all levels of experience and fitness put their heart into their workout. The instructors are top notch; they truly care about the growth of each student. Master Erick Larson, who teaches kickboxing from time to time, gives a lot of attention to the new students. He keeps a sharp eye on everyone no matter the class size and gives excellent personalized instruction. The main instructor is Morgan Hubbard who is a natural teacher. He is a pro at teaching mixed level classes. Like Master Larson, he gives individualized instruction and is super patient and positive. Over a year ago I walked into my first kickboxing class with no experience. I was paired with another female who showed me a lot. Everyone was so friendly. Master Larson taught my second or third class. His class was challenging and fun and he encouraged everyone along the way. Im now friends with some students outside PMA and cannot say enough about the high vibe of support that is part of class. About 3 months ago I tried Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It was awkward learning how to move my body in this way, still is, but Master Larson and instructor Wally Rivera make me feel like BJJ is for everyone so Ill keep at it. The experienced students have kindly taken the time to help me break down the moves. Theres been no weirdness rolling with guys; were simply two students practicing. Its empowering to learn BJJ as it is a path I never thought I would be on. One thing Ive learned since going to PMA is instead of charging through workouts with physical force only, if I add technique and strategy, my strength and energy go further. Its been a useful metaphor for how to live life too. Learning kickboxing and BJJ has taught me discipline and how to better manage my emotions. No exaggeration - PMA has improved areas of my life in ways I could never imagine.

Be careful with this program. The introduction information differs from what you are told before you pay money to what happens after. Example: their trial program includes 1 private instruction class. This is really 20 minutes of your kid listening to the instructor explain how it is going to be. During our meeting with the business manager, we explained that we were looking for self defense instruction. The private lesson received after we paid clarified that the emphasis is not on learning real world tools but more learning the tradition of taikwondo and practicing moves for demonstrations. Our goal is not to get a colored belt but to have my kid know what to do if attacked. When it became clear this was not what we thought we paid for, I asked for a partial refund and was refused. The owner told me his 20 minute talk with my kid and the outfit my kid wore while listening to the 20 minute talk was worth what I paid even though we were not attending the month of classes that we had also paid for. I had hoped for a partial refund recognizing we had taken some of their time and got the uniform. Unfortunately, this owner felt he should keep all of my money even though he didnt earn it. If you are considering this organization, be VERY careful to get a CLEAR understanding of exactly what the classes involve and the focus is because what we were told before payment and what my kid was instructed after payment were different. How the owner handled our situation is very telling of his true goals - take your money and dont care if you received services that equal the value of what you paid. Unacceptable business practice.

The Best of the Best!!! Pinnacle Martial Arts offers an exceptional atmosphere in which to learn martial arts. Master Larson, the owner and instructor of this studio is just down right amazing when it comes to his interacting with his students both as a group and individually. He seems to have that rare ability to be able to hone in on a students individual needs and help that student advance and progress in their knowledge and execution of the martial arts while helping that student increase in confidence, focus, and discipline. Kids tend to gravitate toward him and is teaching style. I have associated with this studio for the last three years. Three of my children are now black belts, and my wife, myself, and one of our other children continue to work toward the goal of becoming a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Each of us has required something unique, and Master Larson has done an outstanding job in helping each of us achieve our goals. I can not say enough about what he does to help one learn martial arts, and not just fighting and self defense. He teaches also what I consider to be the more important aspects of martial arts; and that is teaching confidence, respect, discipline, focus, perseverance, courage, and more in all the different areas of ones life. If what you seek is the total package, look no further. His honesty and integrity are above reproach. He will help you in whatever way he can.He bends over backwards to do so. I give him and his studio the highest marks.

The instructors at Pinnacle martial arts are phenomenal. First I am so thankful for the transformation in my son. We got him started on the 6 week promotion deal they have and within a few weeks we all saw a huge change he had so much confidence and pride in himself that we hadnt seen in him for a long time. He didnt just say mom am going to be better he did it. He loves it so much he said mom I will give up my allowance if I can keep coming here. (no joke that came out of my 6 year old) It didnt stop there his grades improved. My sons teacher said what ever you are doing please keep it up its like he is a different kid and has improved so much that there really is nothing that he needs to work on. I mean what parent doesnt want to hear that coming from their kids teacher. Worth every penny. I also go to there kickboxing class and it Awesome and I am not in good shape or coordinated honestly am a total spa but the people there have never made me feel bad ever they are always been nothing but supportive and I feel stronger after every class I love it.

Pinnacle Martial Arts really is Puyallups premier martial arts facility. I attend the kickboxing classes on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. On those days I usually get there early and have had the opportunity to watch Master Larson with his students. He is absolutely amazing with the kids. When I started going to kickboxing I was hoping to find a place to go to get a great workout, not only have I found that but I have made great friends and really feel that Master Larson wants to help me achieve my goals. I highly recommend coming in and checking out the kickboxing classes and the martial arts program. You wont be disappointed. Thank you Pinnacle Martial Arts!!!!

Great Energy! Pinnacle Martial Arts is a great place to be. My son started ju-jitsu classes, and has loved every minute of it. The people are friendly, encouraging, and skilled. Master Larson takes the time to watch each student, show them how to improve, and work with their strengths. He is not afraid to get down on the mat to show and explain techniques. I really enjoy watching the class members work hard to not only improve themselves, but help others improve as well. Time and money very well spent! Highly recommended.
