McLendon Home Services is not yet ready for business. Last July, i attempted to purchase an exterior residential door and have it installed, following an on-air recommendation by Tammy Michaels, the radio Interior Design and Remodel talkshow host. I have always LOVED McLendon Hardware and have always had great service in the retail stores, but the Home Services Group utterly failed, I wasted almost a month of time last July trying to work with McLendon Home Services. They didn’t have a separate website at that time, only a phone number that was rarely answered. I had to call the Hardware store in Renton to find out how I could get through to the Home Services Group. Once I was able to reach someone, I was told I had to speak with one of the two men in charge of door purchase and install. But neither of those men were available. After 5 -6 phone calls and never being able to reach this duo, and never receiving a phone call or email in response to my calls, I again reached out to the Hardware store to find out their process for me to purchase a door. I was told it was not necessary for me to come into the store to purchase a door. All I needed to do was look on the website they referred me to, pick out my door, and call them with the serial number, and they would arrange for payment and install over the phone. I followed their instructions, but when I called to order the door I had picked out, I had to leave a message with someone unfamiliar with this process. A week later, a woman called me back to tell me she couldn’t find a door with the serial number I had supplied. By this time, I gave up and called Frank Lumber the Door Store. I now have a great door, but no thanks to McLendon. Wake up McLendon and improve your communication process.

This is the second time weve used McLendon Home Services and had already decided we would be customers for life. Every contact weve had with them, from customer service over the phone and appointment planning to the actual work in the house has been handled by them in a professional, friendly, extremely helpful manner. This time we were pleased to see they had an advertised special for exactly what we needed. They were contacted both via our special offer purchase here on AL and an email I sent directly to them containing pictures of the current faucet and sink set-up so they would have an idea what sort of replacement parts to send out on the truck on day of service. Jesse, their installation professional arrived punctually and was very thorough in all he did, having to labor over one of the under the sink valves for some time. He showed all the work to me, explaining what hed done, and the area was left clean and organized. The folks at McLendon Home Services are truly customer service-oriented professionals who provide a high level of excellence in every aspect of their business as we have experienced it. While I hope not to have to use their services again any time soon, it is quite heartening to know theyll be there when we need them. We highly recommend them without hesitation!

A co-worker recommended this hardware store to me when our kitchen dishwashing spray hose sprung a leak. One of our faucet spindles was stripped and also needed replacing, so I looked up McLendons online and took in both the spindle and the spray hose assembly. I brought the parts back to the Plumbing department, and what a pleasant experience! There I met Diane, who provided the best Customer Service I have ever had! Not only did she take the time to find the proper parts for me, but she also took the spray hose to the work bench and replaced the hose then and there to insure that it did indeed fit. She also answered my questions (I have no plumbing experience, by the way) and explained the proper replacement procedure for the spindle so that I would complete my project at work without losing parts. I had brought only part of the spindle assembly in, instead of removing the entire piece, so the advice was very helpful. She showed me how it worked so I understood what to do. I left the store with the proper parts in hand, and the knowledge and confidence to complete the repair. Thank you, Diane!! You made this repair a success! I appreciate the time you took, and your patience with my questions. :-)

McLendon Home Services installed a new water heater for me. They were amazing at every stage of the process! Andy was super friendly, helpful, and informative on the phone. He provided a quote that was lower than all three other quotes I received from other businesses. McLendon Home Services was able to come out the next day and rescue us from our cold-water-only misery! Special thanks to Joe, the installer--he was awesome! Even though there were some unforeseen issues with space and access, he was able to quickly resolve them and answer all my myriad of questions with expertise, humor, and attention to detail. Joe really went above and beyond to make sure the whole installation process was a positive experience and that everything was done perfectly. I am so pleased that McLendon offers home installation services--it really is an extension of their dedication to customer service. Its made a loyal customer out of me for sure!

Needed to grab a replacement motor for my bath ventilator fan. First guy asked if I had the motor with me, I said no but I had the model number. Told me it would be useless without the motor because they use generics so the model might not match (okay...thought most give you the models they are compatible with but whatever). Went back the next day with the motor and the guy there today asked if I knew the brand. I said no i just had the model number and the guy yesterday just told me to bring in the motor. He said well that was useless. I asked if he couldnt tell by looking at it and he said no. I said never mind Ill go to Lowes. He then says well we could try to find the part but itll be a WAG (wild ass guess). Went to Lowes was directed to where the parts were, and was able to find it myself (by looking at it). New one is installed. Mclendon customer service is horrible and I will go to Lowes first next time.

Every department is great except lumber. The people in plumbing are super helpful, if you dont know how to do something you will by the time you leave and with all the correct pieces. They have a great garden selection and the tools department is helpful and knowledgable. We stopped going to mclendons for lumber, the last time we bought lumber from here my husband had to load it up, cart it to the door, find someone in another department to write a ticket, then after paying he had to load it up himself. In the past all these steps were done by someone who worked there. Even if you find someone in the department they will turn around and leave as soon as you make eye contact. If you need a weird size of something its here. Ive actually gone to lowes for something since I was in the area and they didnt have what I needed, the guy there told me to go to mclendons! I go here for everything except lumber
