Soul Fitness is easily one of the nicest fitness facilities that I have had the pleasure of being a member of. First thing that drew me in was the aesthetics of the gym; beautiful hardwood floors, impeccably clean equipment, big bright windows that look out onto Myrtle Edwards park-- absolutely stunning! The gym has such a unique look to it which I immediately found special. I am not a current member but when I was attending the gym I learned how engaging and friendly everyone was. It was so refreshing to feel welcome there, unlike past gyms where the staff were completely indifferent to whether I was using the facilities or not. I know that the staff here go above and beyond helping others get to the gym and notice when they havent seen your face in a while. Theyre all very kind people who are deeply connected to their members and the community that Soul has established. Glen, the manager, remembers everyone who comes in and was thoughtful enough to let me try RAW for a month when I mentioned it was my birthday a few days prior to joining. I continued after my trial was over because RAW, just like all the other classes offered at Soul, provided a fitness program I just could not live without. All the trainers are exceptional and I have had the privilege to get to know each one. I could go on and on about their expertise. If you are interested in personal training or group training classes, you would be missing out by not connecting with the staff here. All in all this is a terrific gym where amazing people go to workout and thrive. If you live in the area and are looking for a new gym, please go to Soul Fitness first and check it out. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Horrible experience with billing and cancellation! Be very very careful. I had canceled my account but they kept charging me for the next 3 months. Thats when I noticed I was being charged. Heres the complete summary. 1. Sometime in November 2016, I told their manager that I wanted to cancel my account because I could continue my workout at my apartment gym. 2. The manager looked into the computer and told me I would be charged for December one last time because the threshold for canceling had exceeded but December would be the last month when I will be charged and my account was cancelled after that. 3. I never went to soul fitness after the deadline because I believed what was told to me - I was no longer a member. 4. On Mar, 03- I noticed the monthly fee for soul fitness in my recent credit card statement and when I checked for previous months( Jan and Feb)- the monthly fees appeared there too. 5. After multiple conversations with the new manager, he just repeated his position that they did not have a written cancellation for my account. (the fine print in the sign up form says that they only take written cancellation) 6. I had my bank dispute the charges. 7. Soul fitness sent collections to get the monthly charge for the three months I did not use their service. 8. I ended up paying for those 3 months. I felt I was bullied into paying for those 3 months. I am not sure how many other options for fitness centers you have around where you live. But I would definitely stay away from this place. There are a few more reviews about billing and cancellation. So apparently I am not the only one with this horrible experience. Hope it helps!

First, let me just say that Ive been a member of somewhere around 10 gyms in the Seattle area and worked out many more facilities. This was the first gym that was so bad that it warranted a review. The main issue is the staff. Expect to get high pressure sales right after touring the facilities. They try to get several forms of billing and make it really hard to cancel or change anything to your membership. They also charge these large fees for cryptic stuff like "processing". Just really sleazy stuff. I came in person to cancel 3-4 times before I finally got ahold of someone that could stop my billing and they kept billing me for at least 2 months after that point. The way they run their business is all wrong. People should pay for their membership because they want to workout there, not because the gym has your billing info hostage. Small selection of equipment. Overpriced for what you get. It is always clean and there is a nice view if you want to do cardio. The other thing that was slightly insulting was a long list of rules that they made me sign before using the gym. I assume they make everyone do that. Ive never been to a gym with more rules. There are signs everywhere telling you what you can and cant do. When I go to the gym I want to focus on my workout and not have to tiptoe around like Im in a gallery filled with priceless antique art. Its a gym, people. Anyways, my recommendation is to stay clear of this place if you can find a different location that works for you. There are much better options for much cheaper.

Rain Fitness is a freaking joke. Read the reviews. Seriously. Think this through... you bought a membership. Youve been a loyal customer for your contracted time (2 years or more for example). You contact them to cancel your membership. What happens? Oh - you need to cancel the membership with 30 days notice. Which means you have to pay for yet another month of dues. Ok - so youre out a few bucks. What happens? Next month you notice you got billed for yet another month of dues. Why?!?! Because the person you spoke to wasnt authorized to cancel your acct. THAT can only be done by the owner or by sending a letter via certified mail. So now... you have to give another 30 days notice. The owner is a complete TOOL. Im not a mean spirited person, but he literally does not care about you. He wants your money and he doesnt care how many people wish harm to him. Do you know why he wants your money? BECAUSE HE CANT EARN IT THE RIGHT WAY. Its pathetic. Ive insulted myself for falling for this. READ your contract very carefully. The staff dont have an obligation to say "hey - this is the part of the contract that youre not going to like" - so DO YOUR PART. Maybe this place will tank and a responsible individual can open up a gym meant to serve the community - not gouge it.

I give my trainer, Trixi; the other employees, the gym rates, other members, the view from the upstairs training room and equipment a five star rating. The building is over 100 years old, so overall i give the whole experience a four star. It isnt a gym where you feel like you have to be perfectly made up and already in great shape to use. Everyone is there to improve their fitness and are respectul of each other. I joined after years without working out steadily and a diet that resemblesd an unsupervised teenager. I signed up for training sessions with Trixi. She really listened to me and didnt try to overtrain me or suggest I make a ton of changes all at once. Her homework (could be exercises to do at home, concentrating on drinking more water, reading an article, etc) and sessions have helped me get back in the habit of working out, and and I am slowly improving my diet choices. If you need someone who has decades of experience, works with you, instead of creating workouts or diet suggestions that you cant or wouldnt want to follow long term, I would recommend her. She works with all ages and body types and doesnt make you feel uncomfortable.
