I took my aunt here to try a new place and both of us are fans of NW fare so I thought it would be perfect! I called ahead to check to see if there would be any problems with us eating dinner there on Wednesday and to use my Groupon. I was told I could not use my Groupon for happy hour or lunch, that was fine with me because we wanted dinner. Her time in Vanouver was pressing, so we needed an early dinner, and got there at 4:40 PM and then told that we couldnt have dinner because they dont have their dinner set up until 5PM. They said that they would seat us, and we could order any appetizer for the wait and have our dinner ready as soon as the kitchen opened up again. We agreed, they were still very slow on the service even though we were the only people in the dining area, didnt get to order our appetizer until just before 5PM and our food came closely after our appetizer, not much space in between. We did not even receive a wine list, and just before we left, they finally lit the candle at our table. Our food was not any faster than any other costumers around us. The atmosphere was cold, and they also did not turn on the lights for several minutes with us sitting there in the dark waiting for some kind of service. Not a good start, and not a good end. I had to get up to find our waitress to pay our bill. The food was good, but if they are going to close between lunch and dinner, that should be on their website or they should have some kind of alternative.

My husband and I have a new favorite restaurant, APPLEWOOD. We went for the first time ever for our Anniversary. We had excellent service and the food was absolutley beautiful. We had the duck breast and chicken medallions. DELICIOUS !!! I felt like I was at a 4 star restaurant. The drinks were even better ..LOL !! When we were in Hawaii we had eaten at Ruth Chris Steak House and Applewood beats them by far, that was our fav now Applewood. The lounge is nice and relaxing , freindly atmosphere. All staff said,"Good evening" ,"Welcome", "Was everything good?","Come Back Again." Thank you for such a lovely evening. And the sun setting thru the window really set the mood. Only one request have someone play the violin or cello live on the weekends.

First of all let me say the service was 4 stars, however the meal itself was a 2 at best. Ordered grilled lamb chops with an Asian twist. The lamb was so pungent (the chef left the silver skin on the meat- who trained this guy?) and was of horrible quality. My wife got the NY Strip and the flavors were very flat. When you can grill a steak purchased at a grocery store at home that is of better taste and quality you question why you just spent $30 for a lousy one at a restaurant. Not sure who your meat supplier is, but I would consider a new vendor. It feels like the owner is really trying but fails miserably with the overall food quality. Wish it were a different situation, we will not be going back.

Say Ciao Creative Catering provides outstanding quality food and service. Our business provides conferences to professionals. We needed a caterer to provide a buffet lunch and breakfast that would satisfy many different dietary needs (gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc). Since January 2015, Say Ciao Creative Catering has been our caterer. Peter Galin has provided us with outstanding service and responses to our requests for changes in the menu and times of deliveries. His staff is always on time and acts in a professional manner. As our business continues to grow and expand, we will continue to use Say Ciao Creative Catering for all of our catering needs.

Peter and Say Ciao! catered my 40th birthday party 10 years ago and did such a wonderful job that I did not hesitate to hire him when it came time to plan for the big 50th celebration. Once again, we were extremely please with our experience. Communication was excellent during the planning stages and Peter worked with us to create a menu to our needs. At the party, the staff was friendly and professional, set up and clean up were thorough and efficient and everything was just as ordered. Most importantly, the food was excellent and our guests were impressed with the quality. We didnt have to worry about a thing! We highly recommend Peter and Say Ciao!

The food tasted wonderful! But sadly it was only barely warm. I got the special which was cranberry pork tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans. The pork had the most delightful taste but was on the dry side. Others with me got another pork dish: great taste but dry also crab cakes: had a very strong fishy smell but tasted good Tomato basil soup: was to think and not creamy. Seemed like a sauce not soup. Carrot cake: Amazing a must try Apple cake: dry, we sent it back. Caesar salad: delightful dressing and fresh romaine I would go back but not be ok with non hot food.

Uninspired food that is poorly executed. I went once and was unhappy with the undercooked veggies and over cooked lamb. Went again hoping it was a just an off night and found that the all food lacked any flavor, and again not cooked or over cooked. For what they charge it should atleast be as good as Applebees. The wines they offer are nothing special and are marked up an extreme amount. Dont waste your time going, they should be out of business soon.

This place was so awesome!!! I was blown away by the presentation and the high caliber tastiness! The food was SO fancy and delicious. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Great service plus incredible live music on a Thursday night. So happy I discovered you tonight! Welcome to Vancouver SAY CIAO! Im so excited that you are here.

I cant recommend Applewood. The entrees are mostly mediocre (though the starters were good, hence the "like" on the food)-- the atmosphere is absolutely horrible. Extremely loud for a "fine" dining experience. Couple that with the mediocre entrees, and its absolutely not worth the price. Go to a real fine dining establishment, instead.

Nice place but the food was awful. Bland and boring. Plus its in a strip mall and I hate those kinds of places. And another thing is the waitress seemed really mad at me for sitting down at a dirty table (the place was busy) that I saw. That whole night she had a mean attitude to me. My husband even asked me what her problem was. Beotch!

We would absolutely recommend this place. Over a dozen local beers and ciders. Small but diverse menu. Food, drinks, service were all 5 stars. Will be coming back for more "dirty fries" (fries with parmesan cheese, banana peppers, garlic, bacon, parsley, with truffle ketchup)
