Our daughters have been students of Julie McMurray and the Woondinville Dance Academy for 6 years. We have two daughters who have enjoyed Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip Hop and have worked their way through the varying levels. Because of the special instruction and caring attention, our eldest daughter is now pursuing dance at Cornish College of the the Arts. Both our daughters have auditioned and participated in dance shows and activities outside of Woodinville Dance Academy ( The Black Nativity at the Intiman theater, and The Moore, and STGs Dance This at the Paramount). I believe it is because of the quality of instruction they have received at Woodinville Dance Academy that they were prepared for these auditions. Each year, we look forward to seeing the dance recitals and fruits of all the labors the instructors and dancers worked so hard on all year. I give Woodinville Dance Academy and its owner, Julie McMurray high marks and would recommend her studio to any parent who is looking for quality instruction and care for children, teens and young adults seeking to explore dance movement.

Several years ago my oldest daughter had given up dance after deciding she didnt want to participate in the hyper-competitive atmosphere at our previous dance studio. Then Woodinville Dance Academy opened-- what a breath of fresh air! The owner and staff really care about dance as a lifetime activity, and each student has an opportunity to shine, whether they want to dance 1 hour a week, or 15. My youngest daughter is a senior in high school now, and has grown up dancing at Woodinville Dance Academy. She recently told me that the staff and other students at the studio feel so much like family that shell really miss them after she graduates and goes to college! After experiencing major pre-recital drama at two other dance studios, I can say the preparation, rehearsals and performances are handled with tremendous professionalism, and I dont remember a recital going beyond 2 hours in length. Im so glad both my girls have developed a lifelong love of dance, and Im so appreciative that we found Woodinville Dance Academy!

My daughter has had a wonderful dance experience at this studio. She has been dancing there for about nine years now, and has learned so much about dance, her muscle movement and health, and especially about the healthy, proper way to do turn-out, and other moves. She has been challenged, and has grown much as she has risen through the levels of ballet, modern, etc. She has especially appreciated the additional performance opportunities in the company, and the yearly Nutcracker shows. The owner has been a pleasure to work with, as have all those who work the front desk. Recitals in June are around 2 hours long, and show a great array of dances at all levels. Dancers are definitely excited to perform come recital time. My daughter will miss her classes here when she graduates, but she plans to continue to dance on the college level. She feels that she is well prepared to move on to college dance in the fall.

Both my daughters and I have been dancing at Woodinville Dance Academy for several years now. We participate in many forms of dance at this academy. From Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Adult Tap and Adult Hip Hop. We have participated in the annual Nutcracker performances and my girls are also part of the dance companies. My girls are learning excellent dance techniques and a great love for dance that will carry them throughout their life. Everyone at Woodinville Dance from the Director (Julie McMurry), teachers and the office staff treat us with respect and professionalism. The recitals are a wonderful experience not only for the children but for any parent to see their children shine. This is a place for all levels of experience and I recommend anyone from children to adults who would like to have a positive and enriching experience in dance this is the place for you.

When my daughter wanted to start dancing many years ago, I researched our different options, and fortunately, Julie McMurray had just opened her studio. I chose Woodinville Dance Academy because the director and teachers were interested in teaching to the whole child. The childs health, both physical and emotional, always comes first. My child is now a young women who continues to dance at the college level, and I am grateful to Julie and her wonderful teachers who had much to do with her healthy development from a child into young adulthood. The quality of dance education is excellent at this jewel of a studio.

My daughters have been with the Woodinville Dance Academy for six years and we have had nothing but the best experiences. The Director, Julie McMurray, is fully competent and skilled not only as an instructor, but as an administrator for the business. Dance staff is diverse, demonstrate superior technical skill and are quite capable of dealing and training all age levels. Dance options range from traditional ballet to hip hop and the environment is cordial and friendly. I highly recommend Woodinville Dance Academy for any student interested in dance.

Absolute worst place to deal with. Recitals are a joke, lets take and do a 3.5 hour dance recital with small children. Impossible to sit through if you have kids in the performance and others not in the performance. All so you can see your kids for 2 dances (8 minutes tops). The owner is a miserable person to deal with that lacks all personality and basic customer service skills. Watch out for her son at the front desk, his inability to do simple tasks that you would expect of someone taking your monthly dues will amaze you.

My Daughter has had several years at this Dance studio. She has taken Ballet, Tap, and now Lyrical. She enjoys dancing and has been taking it for 5 years at this studio. We love Julie and have enjoyed being here. The recitals are awesome and the perfect time length. I have worked back stage with the kids and everyone has a good time. I recommend this studio to those that want their kids to learn the proper way to dance. March 23, 2011

The instructors are wonderful! Kind, caring, and knowledgeable for the most part. The only issue we had was the integrity and respect from management. Gossip, manipulation, and lack of respect for customers was hard to deal with.
