I was a student of Backstage Dance Studio for 13 years. I initially came to learn the art and discipline of dance as most do, but found so much more. In my experience, both the other students and instructors/staff are genuinely nice and caring people. The teachers became more than just teachers--they were and still are to this day, life mentors and very honestly, my second set of mothers. They still take the time to check up on me even though I have gone off to college and no longer dance with them. This is something that they are certainly not being paid for, they simply just care. I have learned so much dance-wise, much ado to the the fantastic competition team program. It has always been incredibly organized, taught me how to manage my time, discipline myself (work ethic wise) in realms beyond the dance one (school, work, etc.), and was most importantly fun. Backstage has not only enriched my dance education, but has helped me to hone in on life skills that you cant learn in school... and I made a handful of life-long friends along the way :).

I agree with the previous reviewer - the instructors dont care about kids at Backstage. The instructor was not even qualified to work with small kids. She lacked any knowledge of child’s development and skills for working with small children. She was so stiff and serious and the class was awfully boring. I don’t think she even liked teaching small kids; she looked helpless to get their attention. Backstage, if you are going to have classes for young kids, at least learn HOW it is done.

I was a teacher at "Backstage in the 80s for about 5 yrs. and I just wantedt the owner to see my "Wikipage""Wikipage Facebook" under Linda Hoxit, Public Figure. I dont know if they ever understood they had a teacher with some notoriaty, not certain ..t. But, A very good Dance Studio , at least when I was there!

I teach at Backstage and I love it! A very positive environment for both teachers and students. The owner Marty is caring, thoughtful and passionate. She listens to and respects us.
