9/30 had called to get a new key because of a domestic dispute. Wanted to do a civil stand by so that everything would be legal. However I was pressured from them to just go there get the key made because they had a opening. I wanted it later on in the day so I can have everything set up. so I had to pick the key up from the office. Which was the worst thing I could of done. SHAUN who went to make the key made was met by beautiful ex and help assist her to pull a fuse out because shes not mechanically inclined. I later seen my nosey next door neighbor and he told me a chunky guy which was Shaun pop the hood and assist with the taking out the fuse. Shaun did text me pretty fast saying the key was made as he was suppose to make a key from scratch and was told it would take a while. It was only fast because he took the easy route and dubbed the key. I go to the place of business after hearing the story. because I paid $85 plus tax. Because all he did was make a copy of my exs key. He lied denying it but my nosey neighbors told me when I seen them. Its a family owned business so of course the dad would take his sons side over mines. All I asked for was a key made but he involved himself into the matter. Helping my ex take a fuse out. I was very polite about it and all I wanted was a refund which was denied. Because he didnt do his job instead he prolly got conned to help. Which I do believe my next door neighbors. they are a good business not taking away from that. But thats pretty foul. I could see his heart beating it out his chest which I knew he was lying. I believe my nosey neighbors over him. For this situation if I could give zero stars I would.

Great customer service, highly recommend. I found myself locked out of my house the evening of 1/18/17. New to the area and never having used a locksmith before, I called Yakima Lock & Safe. I was told that it was going to be approximately 40 minutes and they apologized that the fee would be a little higher than normal because it was an after-hours call. They asked if I wanted to wait somewhere warm and they would call me when they were about 5 minutes out. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived sooner than expected. Their employee Danny was great- he made a very frustrating situation so much easier with his kindness and compassion. I understand that people don’t like to pay for unexpected expenses, but this employee drove to my house after hours, in freezing rain and had to put chains on his van to get there. I learned that my “smart lock” couldn’t be picked, our new weather-stripping made it impossible to credit-card, but he still tried and then made the extra effort to look at my garage door and my back door to see if he could get me in another way, to make the call less expensive. That’s what I was most impressed with, an employee taking extra time to try to make it easier for me, when it certainly didn’t make it easier on him. In the end, my bill was higher than my quote, as it should have been, but the individual fees (service call, new doorknob and installation) were all extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend Yakima Lock & Safe, great customer service and love supporting a small family business. I hope that I’m never locked out of my house again, but if I am, I know where I’m taking my business.

I had a car key cut here. The first employee that helped me took apart my key, and while I informed him there were small parts inside, he dropped it anyways and lost the spring. Instead of telling me, he grabbed a different, much larger spring that does not work with the key, so now its useless. Additionally, he cut it and the key did not turn in the ignition. I gave 2 stars due to the fact (after returning), another employee helped me get the key cut until it worked. I appreciate his help and friendliness. However, now that the spring is lost somewhere on the floor of their business and they tried to pass off a completely different spring and not tell me, I cannot recommend this business.

I was recommended by Pingrey Ford to resolve an issue I had on a 96 Ford Explorer. It did not take more than 2 minutes once advised of my delimna for them to fix the problem with a SMALL charge (the cost of another key) .. Very customer friendly and service oriented. They offer many lock related services for house and auto at very resonable prices ...

Took a while to get to me due to horrid weather and heavy workload, but on arrival took about 80 seconds to get my car unlocked with no damage. Wish they gave their driver 4 wheel drive.
