Im a lady who prefers a short, androgynous haircut, so I value a dependable barber. I found the Monona Barber Shop in 2015 after trying other Madison area barbershops/ hair salons and not finding a place that I cared to try more than once or twice. Happily, Monona Barber Shop is now my haircut home base. The service is solid, old-school barbershop: Friendly, dependable, affordable. These folks are experienced, professional, licensed barbers -- the real deal... Just stopped in (literally a walk-in) for another great cut, got home, looked in the mirror, and felt they deserved a (long overdue) shout-out. I wholeheartedly recommend them to all who prefer a short cut. Busier times (Friday PM or Saturday AM) might see you waiting 15-25 minutes, but thats typical of walk-in places and has only happened to me a couple times in as many years. Seniors save a buck on Wednesdays (read: can be a busy day), which gives you time to start an article in one of the many (current!) magazines for you to peruse while you wait. Bottom line: Go get yourself a proper haircut and/or beard trim at Monona Barber Shop. :)

Very friendly, inexpensive (17$ mens haircut), great staff (usually hate small talk during a hair cut, but these guys were great!), good hours, classic barber shop feel, personable, and above all, great haircut. No more cost cutters/supercuts, found my new place.

Excellent service, really appreciate the vacuum clippers that minimize the leftover hair in your collar. Cash only, so keep that in mind.
