This facility has the worst youth sports director that I have ever encountered. There is definitely some dishonest favoritism that goes on when it comes to basketball and the selection of the teams. I caught James Garvin in so many lies tonight in reference to how members are placed on a team and the assessment phase. He has no measure in place to assess coaches, and the player assessment is very unorganized. He placed 8 kids at a time on the court to play a random game. My son signed up to coach my grandsons team, and his own kid was not placed on the roster for his team. 2 other parents signed their kids up to be on my sons team and indicated it on the application under the request section. The parents request were totally disregarded by Jame Garvin. In my 20 plus years of military service, one conducts an assessment by having playing demonstrate certain drills and skills like lay-ups, free throws, jump shots etc. I played basketball for the Army and my son was a player on 2 college basketball teams, so we definitely know basketball. James Garvin is very arrogant in "his" process of placing players on teams. I have been a member of the YMCA since stationed in Montgomery 5 years ago and definitely comtemplating on canceling my membership, because I can get the same amenities on Maxwell & Gunter AFB with much more honesty and organization. Due to the cockiness and ignorace of James Garvin, the YMCA will be losing $300 on Monday morning, because along with myself; the other 2 parents who signed their kids up to play basketball on my sons team will also request a full refund.

I have been going to this facilities for 3 months. I was there when the child pooped in the water and it was inconvenient. However, if you are familiar with children in pools, this is not the first time this has happened and it wont be the last. You cant control what kids do, but I have to commend the facilities the way they handled it. I go to the facilities for aqua zumba and the staff have been great from the front door to instructors. Staff did a great job with answering questions and are very polite when I arrive and when I leave. The instructors are fun, polite, and helpful. I recommend this facility to everyone and I have 5 grandchildren and if I have learned nothing else, I have learned that you can count on kids to do what you dont expect them to do, so you cant blame the facilities are the instructors, not even the parents. Theyre kids, its not an easy job.

Really hate the fact that people would be so thoughtless and disgusting and poop in the pool. How hard is it to get your lazy but out and go to the bathroom. I teach my kid, and have done it from first time in pool, that it is NASTY to pee and poop in the pool . I went Sunday, July 31, 2016, and it had just happened!!!! Beyond angry! The mere thought of my baby mouthing someone elses piss and crap! Parents please teach your children. Grown folks, get out the pool and go to the bathroom. I heard grown people sitting and laughing that they pee in the pool. Disgusting. Put swimming diapers on babies! Other than this issue, the facility is extremely nice. The playroom is absolutely wonderful. The new front entrance is great! The weight area is a bit crowded, but nice.

First off, I wasnt there during the apparently infamous poop in the pool episode, so I cant offer any commentary on that. mostly I just use the gym. decent number of treadmills, but most of the weight training equipment is lacking. why only have one of each type of machine? even the freeweights are lacking, but unless youre really into bodybuilding you wont want to venture into that side of the room, since its just chock full of muscle bros, which makes beginners(like me) more than a little self-consciousself-conscious. also, it would be nice if there was a bigger space(maybe even a separate room) for stretching, meditation or bodyweight exercises. as it is, theres one mat in the corner of the room.

Strongly agree with what another frustrated parent had to say about James Garvin. Theres definitely favoritism going on concerning the youth basketball teams and they are being cooked up. Probably due to competition against the Cleveland Y. Not only are the teams unevenly put together but the entire program is very unorganized. Referees are a disaster. Schedules keep changing. Parents arent being informed on time etc. Leaves many parents frustrated as well as the kids. James Garvin is very arrogant and hard to talk to. Not sure he even understands the game of basketball. Definitely will be taking our money and talents somewhere else.

We signed our daughter up for cheer, this has been the most unorganized, unprofessional experience Ive ever had with a company. To add insult to injury when the concern was raised about practicing in excessive heat (93+ degrees), we were told that the girls need to get use to it. Practice lasts for 1hr and 15 minutes with one 5 minute break- anyone who has been to a game knows cheerleaders do not cheer the entire time and get more than 5 minutes. I havent seen a squad yet that practiced outside. What a waste of a potentially good program. Not to mention a waste of time and money.

Gym is cool temperature wise while working out. Not a lot of equipment. Very friendly tho. Towels are available too.
