Called Blass roofing for a roof leak repair estimate. Wayne Anderson responded promptly and gave an estimate. I agreed to have the repairs done and that is when the nightmare began. They wanted half the payment up front and I was told that once that was received I would get the signed contract from them in the mail. The check cleared my bank, and to this day, I never received anything signed by them. Just the original estimate form off the internet that I sent in with my signature and check. I was treated like garbage from beginning to end with this company. I was supposed to be contacted for a repair date. That never happened. I called them. The lady answering their phone said she would contact me the first week of the month. Sound vague? That is this companys motto. They never contacted me after that call and I repeatedly had to call them. Most times, only to get a voicemail box that notified me that it was full and I couldnt even leave a message. Skip ahead, a week later, they showed up unannounced one morning as my wife was leaving our drive. She advised the worker that no one had scheduled with us that day, but she would accelerate her plans and be back in an hour. The workman agreed that would be fine. She rushed to get back to the house, only to have them never return. Never received a call. I called, left messages, finally contacted a woman who told us, what did we expect, it rained that day. It had rained early and cleared up later. We expected a call and a reschedule at the very least. After the unscheduled visit. I again contacted them. The lady told me they would be out at 6:30 the next morning and we were first on the list. Then she called again about two hours later and said they would be out sometime after 12:00pm. I took the day off work so my wife could finish her plans she had rescheduled due to the unscheduled visit. I waited the entire day, and around 3:30pm, I decided to call them. I was told that they had an emergency to go to and they wouldnt be able to come out now until 6:30am the next day. I took a half day off off work to be here when they came out. They called that morning to say they would be late because they had to pick up supplies. About an hour later, they showed up, and began working on the roof. They were on the roof about an hour and a half and then left and did not return. My roof has tiles torn up and stacked up on it, so it is pretty obvious they have not finished. It rained during this week and the roof leaks now worse then it did. Its been torn up for over a week. I called them, they offered no explanation of any work and no reasons for all the confusion. At this point, I decide I need to find a company that is going to actually fix the roof. I tell them I want my money back. The lady says she has to clear it through the owner Bill Blass. A few days later, I get my money back as a check for "cancelled roofing repair deposit". So that speaks volumes to anyone wanting to deal with this company. That one statement shows a total lack of any responsibility on their part. At no point when I requested my money back was there any questions of what was going on or any apologies given. At no time did anyone ever try to get to the bottom of the runaround I was being given. It seems as if it was just the way they do business. I got my money back, but my roof is still torn up, the tiles are still stacked up on top of my roof. They did more damage then my original leak.

I would give them 0 stars if possible. We worked with them and they were *horrible*. They were incredibly unprofessional, did shoddy work (for example, the new roofing material didnt go to the actual edge of the roof), & we ended up with a new leak where there wasnt one before - and in some ways the biggest problem was that their communication was worse than bad. I looked into filing a formal complaint with the BBB but the process is lengthy and my family received a cancer diagnosis at the same time so we didnt have the stomach for some long procedure. Their roofing crew had a personality conflict with our renter, the decided they hated him, but they could have addressed that totally professionally, along with the point-by-point list of shoddy workmanship, and resolved it quickly and simply. Instead they repeatedly stank at communication, escalated the situation, and we finally got to the point where we just gave up and tried to cut our losses and move on. I spoke to the owner a couple times, and at first I tried to be sympathetic because he said his wife was having some medical challenges of her own, however he then *yelled at me* about my tenant (I never raised my voice once through this process), and NEVER did he address the point-by-point, photo-documented problems his crew had created. We agreed to speak directly for follow-up to avoid any personality issues between his crew and my tenant, but he then did not follow through on his end when I contacted him again. And look, Im a reasonable person, I was totally willing to listen that maybe the bent over nails & weird damage spots in the new roofing maybe were not actually problems for the seal of the roof, and that the damage to the cables and conduits, the oil stains and tar smears, were just part of the normal hazards of getting roofing work done. But a new leak, where one did not exist before, is kinda unarguably a sign of not-great work. And instead of calm reasoned discussion about it all, or any clear responses to emails, I was met with belligerence at every turn. Our interactions with this company were the most unprofessional and unpleasant of any Ive experienced. In an additional twist, the house - which has security bars on every window and door, and has never previously been robbed (and was my familys home until just months prior) - then was broken into *right* at this time of conflict, in what the police called a "clearly targeted burglary" and our renters tools were all stolen, as were his wifes family jewelry. Of course we have no way of knowing who did it. Its enough to make me think twice about posting this review, frankly, but I dont want another family to have the same horrible experience as we did - it disrupted months of our familys happiness. *I* have cancer now (and young kids, which is really a bummer), and the stress of working with this company I am *sure* made my tumor grow faster. We worked with another roofing company on a roof leak on our casita and the difference in experience was night and day. Protect yourself from a potentially stressful and unpleasant experience.

We purchased our home over the summer and for our home inspections, we had SEVERAL roof inspectors come out to inspect the roof. We noticed water leak marks on the ceilings of the house and all of the contractors that came out sent us cheap, $300 estimates with replacing a few broken tiles as the solution. One quoted us over $4,000 and said the entire roof needed to be replaced but sent no proof that he did a thorough inspection. It didnt feel right and since our inspection period was almost over, we were getting nervous and almost pulled out of the sale. I looked for additional inspectors and thankfully found this company. Mike Blass scheduled the inspector at a convenient time and I got a call 30 minutes prior to arrival, giving me enough time to get to the house for the inspection vs some companies that give you a 3 hour window and you never know when they will arrive. The inspector (unfortunately I cant remember his name) was there on time and had no problem lifting up roof tiles to look at the underlayment. He really got into the roof while other contractors only did a superficial inspection. He checked the entire roof and took pictures so we could see for ourselves. Sure enough the entire underlayment of one of the biggest sections of the house needed to be replaced, but not the entire thing as another contractor had stated. The pictures and estimate were forwarded to our realtor and we were able to get the seller to pay for the entire repair. The roof was pretty bad. I couldnt believe some companies stated a $300 repair (replacing a few broken tiles) would fix the problem. The crew that came out to do the work was awesome. We had already moved in by then but Jeff, the foreman, was really friendly and made sure we were satisfied. He and his crew were always on time and kept me informed every step of the way. Despite having an issue with some wasps towards the end, they completed the job on time knowing that rain was forecasted. Jeff didnt just shrug it off, he really took care of our house as if it was his own. I appreciated that. This is the ONLY roofing company in Tucson that I personally trust and would ever recommend.
