AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this company. They use the bait and switch routine, with a side of poor customer service. Initially, I was given a quote of $1700, which was then re-done to over $1300. They price your shipment based on the weight, but there’s no way to truly know how much your shipment weighs - you just have to trust their calculations, which were incorrect as my final price was over $2000 (the same price as what other accredited moving companies would’ve charged me). They only give you a quote and then come to pick up your things. They were readily available and the movers who did come to gather my things were wonderful, but everything went downhill from there. I was told it would take around three weeks to get my things from California to North Carolina. Innocently, I believed them and only packed work clothes for the extra week. But once my belongings were with them, the ‘estimated’ delivery (still no date) suddenly went up to four weeks, then five, then six. In the end it took over SIX WEEKS for my things to arrive, DOUBLE THE TIME they said. The most frustrating thing was they were never able to give me an arrival date or even an update. I had to initiate communication on where my things were and when they were expected to arrive. When I would call, their customer service team would immediately jump into defense mode, another red flag to show this type of situation was normal to them. Customer service was terrible. There was no apologies, or ‘I understand your frustration,’ they simply said this is a busy time of the year (again - would have been nice to know ahead of time) and that they couldn’t give me a set date but it would probably take another week. It felt like they hijacked my stuff and there was nothing I could do about it. During my conversations with various members of their staff, there was never once an apology. When I asked what I could do to get my belongings sooner, they said they have an expedited service and it would cost 40% additional cost. So, conveniently, I could have my things in the three weeks they initially promised but would have to pay around a grand more. They also said I did not check some sort of “guaranteed” box when I signed up online for them to move my stuff. This mysterious box would guarantee the three weeks they promised. This was never made clear to me when speaking to them as I signed up and I never saw the guarantee check box. This felt like a sham and a way for them to turn around the blame on me for the amount of time it was taking them. After weeks of waiting, my things were finally ready to ship and I had to pay for my shipment. Again, the price was way over their ‘estimate’ and I had to pay an extra $350 for them to move my things into my home, rather than just drop it curbside. WARNING: THEY WILL ONLY MOVE THINGS INTO YOUR HOME IF YOU HAVE AN ELEVATOR -- even if you paid the extra $350. This was not made clear to me, luckily I did have an elevator. At this point, I’m already in North Carolina and I’m so sick of wearing the same clothes I will just about do anything to get my stuff. When my belongings did arrive there was minor damage to my bed frame and dresser. The guy that moved in my stuff listed the things that had damage and took pictures and told me ShipSmart would be in contact to get it fixed. It’s been over a month since they dropped off my things, haven’t heard a word from ShipSmart on fixing the damage or reimbursing me for the damage. I’m aware that this review was ridiculous long. But the sad fact is, it took this much space to cover this company’s amount of screw ups. I would advise those considering ShipSmart to avoid the extra burden and stress this company provides you with during the already stressful moving process.

I got ship smart referral through corporate reference. Filled up all their documents including the payment details and scanned the same to their email id. Initial estimate they provided was ok to me, but once they loaded and took them to their warehouse, they did a final weightage after doing all the packing and came out with a new 1.5 times higher than the quoted price. I spoke to the customer service rep saying the cost of my things are no worth paying this amount and he came out with a negotiated price, which I was ok to pay as I was already out of that State where i shipped my things. Packing was very good with wooden crate covered, but could notice a small damage to my leather sofa which they said I can use the insurance claim, but couldnt do that as I do not had time to look for furniture repair shops and claim the same since I wanted to settle down in my new place. Everything went well except for few hickups during the delivery through the local career at my new State. I got a $50 refund for the same. Customer service was really good and immediately responded to all my calls and questions. I would first confirm the final pricing and any other charges that the consumer should be aware and proceed with shipping. If you are good with the price, then I would go for this career.

Ship Smart is a top-notch Moving Service in an industry where sometimes one doesnt know who to trust with their valuables. I used a competitor initially because their Yelp reviews had been good. Little did I know that the original owner had sold his business to someone else who was a "questionable character" to say the least. This other Mover picked up my furniture and kept them in his warehouse while emailing me a much higher cost than he had quoted me initially ($1500 increase). I do understand that the final quote is once they weigh everything. But this Mover was only interested in getting LOTs of money and NOT concerned with me as the customer. He basically had me in a corner not willing to give up my furniture until I paid the much higher amount. Then I called Ship Smart and they gave me a much lower quote and I asked them to pick up my furniture at this other Movers warehouse. Within 2 days they got my furniture and shipped it and I received it within 10 days (including weekends). And they delivered everything in perfect shape and with a smile. I will Always do future business with Ship Smart, and I recommend them highly. You can feel confident they will deliver your items in great condition, at a reasonable rate, and in a prompt manner

Ship Smart provided shipping services from 1,000 miles away. A family heirloom table was given to us after the passing of a great uncle. The table and chairs are over 150 years old, so we wanted to make sure no damage occurred during shipping. We are located in Texas and the table was in rural Wisconsin. The time frame given was accurate; however, I can only give 4 out of 5 stars because the communication could have been better throughout. While it is normal to have a 3 - 4 week lead time, as a consumer I would have preferred updates as the pick-up and shipping progressed. As promised, we were called prior to delivery to set up a time. The driver arrived within the time frame promised. I couldnt believe the packing! An entire wooden crate was built around the table and chairs. The Wisconsin relatives also included some art and small pieces of china, but there wasnt any damage at all. The care and attention paid to our priceless items cannot be emphasized enough. I would recommend Ship Smart to friends and family.
