I brought my car in for an estimate on a bent hood, damaged front bumper, missing grill and visibly undamaged radiator and was really surprised at the owners response to me. I called ahead and made an appointment before coming in, the owner glanced over it (without opening the hood) and told me he would only be able to give me a quote for the external damage, because he couldnt tell what internal damage was there. I asked how I would find out the full price - would he tell me as he went along? He said he would have to take the radiator and other components apart to determine what else needed fixing and could tell me the price after that was done. He also needed the VIN number, which I asked what that was used for (paperwork requirement?) and he said this to me, "Do you want a quote or not? Because Im offering you a free quote here and you ask me all these crazy questions. You can sit over there while I write it up or you can take your car somewhere else. Im about to not give you a quote because I frankly dont like your attitude." I have no idea if the guy was just having a bad day or he had enough work lined up for him already, but I dont think either is a good reason to be rude to a potential customer.

Short version: Conveniently located near HERTZ and friendly service that makes sure you are aware of everything that is going on. Longer Version: I chose Allied because it was on the AAA preferred body shop list. Everything is warrantied for like 6 months. I drove in and talked to Don right away. He did a quick inspection, wrote up a quote, and took care of everything else. He kept me updated with calls and emailed me updated estimates as they found some damage under the hood (it was a head-on collision so I assumed this would happen). AAA paid all the repairs and I had my car back in 20 days (AAA also paid for a rental car, so it was extremely convenient that HERTZ is only 3 blocks away!).
