Ask for Sophie! Ive been in Berkeley for almost three years and tried a handful of hair cut places. Sophie first cut my hair when she worked at World Cuts and her cuts have been the best hair cuts Ive ever had. She really pays attention to what you ask for, takes her time, and is clearly very skilled. She is now the manager at Edge Hair Salon and I give her my highest recommendation! Shes incredibly nice, friendly, and kind. I got my hair cut here about a week ago and (once again) she did an amazing job, cut it just as I like, and we shared a great conversation. My hair is thick, stands up if cut too short, and I style it in a very specific way, so it was great to see that she could cut it perfectly and provide great styling advice. You should definitely go here for a hair cut! Also, from 02/15/16 to 04/15/16, they have a deal where theyll do $12 hair cuts for men and $15 for women, so check it out!

I used to go to Berkeley Hair Studio, but then I always ended up waiting so long whenever I went there (especially because theres only 1-2 barbers), so I came here off of a recommendation from a friend. Most of the time, I go around lunch time after class, and only end up waiting only half of the time. When I do wait, its usually one or two people in front of me. The haircuts themselves are pretty good, and about average price for a haircut in Berkeley (I think the cheapest on southside near campus is $12 at World Cuts with the $4 off coupon). The shop is really clean, and theres usually 3 barbers working at any given time. Overall, Edge Salon gives solid haircuts for an average price, and even without an appointment, the wait is pretty decent. In my books, this earns five stars.

I used to go to World cuts myself because of Sophie. Shes been cutting my hair for almost 5 years now. When she quit World cuts and bought the Edge Salon 2 blocks down I immediately went to see her! Sophie is a very nice and a professional. She is patient, charming and most importantly putting a lot of effort in what she does. To be honest she should charge more for her services. I can only recommend coming here. If you are looking for a haircut that is cheap and awesome you should come to the Edge Salon! BTW Im writing this review while Sophie is cutting my hair:) Peace yall

Fantastic! I followed Sophie from her old salon to her new business at Edge. Great to watch really good person work hard and grow a business for herself. I would not go anywhere else. She is slowly starting to add more stylists but is only accepting the best because she cares about quality. Ive been telling her she needs to raise the price by a couple of dollars because she is totally worth it and has more clients then she can really handle. Go Sophie Go!!

Very affordable prices for good looking outcomes! The hairstylists here are all friendly and a wax room has recently been integrated into the salon as well. They offer their services by walk-in or by appointment. I have always scheduled an appointment here for my haircuts and I will continue to do so; the walk-in wait can take pretty long if youre not prepared.

I went in for a hair cut to even out my hair because the last hair salon I went to didnt do a good job. Anyways this place is actually pretty good for its prices. The lady who did my hair was so nice and caring and constantly advised me on how to take care of my hair. Definetly will go back if I need to go to a hair salon again!

Sophie is the only person I go to for a haircut. She used to work at World Cuts down the street, and when she moved over to Edge Hair Salon, I immediately followed her. The prices are very affordable (pay attention Berkeley students!). Sophie definitely knows what shes doing. Call advance and ask for Sophie.
