So, I normally spend hundreds of dollars to color, cut, style my hair. I ran into a rough patch so I decided to cut some corners. Fast word me spending days finding a salon near where I live and reading through reviews I came across Ivy Salon in Mira Mesa. So I decided since Im just getting a "trim" I would give it a shot. Reviews Ive read said to go to Vy so I set up a same day appointment with her. The location has lots of parking and its definitely one of those places you dont want to judge by its "cover". I walk in and show Vy a picture and BAM in less than an hour she cuts my hair and styles it to exactly what I wanted. She even showed me how to use a flat iron to curl my hair. This trip saved me SO much money and I will be coming back for a haircut again. Im so relieved to have found an affordable place that does great work. Who needs those bourgeoise salons? Not this girl, not anymore!

If you want a quick simple cut, theyre probably okay. Otherwise go to a "real" haircutter. I have very thick hair, and I asked for a very sharply angled layered cut. Not only was it not sharp, it was HARDLY LAYERED. I thought about going back to them to get it fixed, but they probably dont have the technique to do whats requested. I asked that the top layer to still reach the ponytail, but it wasnt long enough. After having more than a foot taken off, I dont want to take a chance of getting it cut short further by them. I had waist-long hair thats now hardly layered that doesnt quite reach the ponytail............made an appointment to get it fixed elsewhere for $65. Ill NEVER go back to this place. Good thing hair grows back!!

Dana did it again!! About 1.5 years ago, I went to Dana for a hair cut due to an upcoming interview. She told me she would give me a "lucky" professional haircut. I laughed and said "ok". Well...I got the job. Now...1.5 years later I went to Dana again. She remembered me as soon as I walked in the shop. I told here I was in town for another interview and again, she gave me my haircut...I figured why not? Couldnt hurt...right? Well...she did it again...I got the job!! Now that I will be living in San Diego...I will go to her regularly. She gives a great haircut!!

Tinas been my hairstylist for almost a year now and Ive always loved how she takes her time and always does a great job every 2 weeks that Im there. So I highly recommend anyone that wants a great haircut or just simple and decent haircut with Tina, because with a little explanation on how you want your hair to look or even with a picture, you will never be disappointed.

The hairdresser didnt understand what a fade was. Worst haircut Ive ever had. DO NOT go here if you are military.
