Ive been here twice, and both times to see Whitney. My first cut was simple and usually what I get - long layers. I came in a couple weeks ago craving a change. When Whitney pulled out a book and pointed to a "short in the back and long pointed ends in the front" cut that was reminiscent of Aeon Flux, I balked. I even said,"Im not the kind of girl." But Whitney assured she would cut in moderation. Ive had the shag once before and i was eager to grow it out then since the stylist had been so laissez faire about how his shears trimmed inches off. However, I put full trust in Whitney. Maybe because I had gotten my haircut mid-day and returned back to work wearing a black blazer that no one really noticed the severe transformation. When I came in to work the next morning, everyone was gasping, "Oh my God, I LOVE it!" Thank you so much, Whitney. my new do is a breeze to dry, even easier to style and very modern, fresh and chic. My hair grows fast and its already growing out nicely, and you can say "maturing" into the cut. Cant wait to get it done again.

Extremely unprofessional, would give zero stars if that were an option. I went to have my hair permed. The perm did not hold and I went back one week later for a complimentary re-do. The second perm did not hold. I went to a second salon -- since that service worked and the perm held the third time, I called Grasshopper for a refund. I left three messages, over the span of several weeks, that the salon did not return (on top of calling many more times during regular business hours where my calls went unanswered). When I finally got someone on the phone, the receptionist took my mailing address and promised to remit a check for the amount of the perm that day. Over a week later, I have yet to receive the check. Ive had to chase down the salon for a $150 refund and the whole process has been absurd. Would not recommend or wish on my worst enemy.

DeeDee is the most amazing stylist I have ever been to, but more importantly she is an incredible human being. She went way out of her way to answer my questions and to make me feel comfortable before she gave me extensions. She explained everything in great detail and then did an outstanding job taking me from a botched short haircut (not from her) to luxurious locks of long beautiful hair. She loves her job and puts 100% of her expertise in to every experience. She is incredibly busy because she is so fantastic so if you are lucky enough to get an appointment time with her consider yourself very blessed !!! You will never go anywhere else. Love you DeeDee

I love Grasshopper Salon. Tracy was my stylist in NYC, and I miss having her close by. I found myself in San Francisco twice this year already, and both times I went to see Tracy for a cut, and once for a color, at Grasshopper. How perfect, I was able to visit friends in my old city, take care of business and have Tracy cut my hair. Even though Tracy has moved from NYC to San Francisco, Im still able to squeeze in a fabulous cut with her. Shes the only one who doesnt person who gets my layers just right and blows my hair dry without going against my texture. If you have a chance to see Tracy in San Francisco, go for it, you will be grateful. <3

Just went here by chance to do a coloring job. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed by their courteous staff who offered tea or coffee while I waited on my stylist. Within minutes Avionic greeted me. He was simply AMAZING. I showed him photos of what I wanted and expressed my fear of brassy, orange-y colored highlights. Hes responses were in line with exactly what I had envisioned. He was super professional and took very good care of my hair throughout the entire process. He takes his craft very seriously and was meticulous from the coloring to the hair drying.

Ive been getting my haircut at Grasshopper Salon for more then seven years. I Love the chill vibe and LACK of the, "Im too cool" attitude at Grasshopper. Elisa has been cutting my hair which is very straight, for the past year. She is consistent, pleasant and professional (read: I never have to worry if shes partied too late the night before) in her skills as well as her demeanor. At first glance, the $75 price tag seems a bit high however, a second, fifteen minute "cleanup" appointment is included.

Guys haircut: $75. Besides the joke of a price, everything went well. I got the exact haircut I wanted. Ive gone to a couple of other people elsewhere and they always royally blow it, so Ive stuck with my San Diego hair stylist woman. I am happy to say that I can now finally get a decent haircut in San Francisco.

Took me years to find a palce that not only provides excellent service but also delivers on their skills and product. I always walk out the door with an amazing haircut, and I appreciate that everyone knows my name when I walk in the door and greets me with a smile.

Ive been coming to Grasshopper for years and remain a loyal, happy customer (Melanie is the best!). Ive referred several people to Grasshopper and all have had great experiences. For both cut and color, they are the best.

Amazing. Kelly is fantastic. Ive had cuts from just about everyone there and all of them are great. I get my hair relaxed and I get it cut and sometimes colored. Its always a great experience.

Expensive, but you get what you pay for. They offer you drinks while you get your hair cut, have an online reservation system, and you can get a touch up in between cuts for free.
