Have gone to Midas- Berkeley for brake pads and tires. The service is excellent and affordable. The owner ( Dan) is very knowledgeable and considerate and Im not afraid of getting ripped-off as some places do when they see a woman coming. Initially I went to BIG-O Tires a few blocks down the street, but they were rude and acted like they were too busy to even give me an appointment. Even though Midas was a FEW dollars more it was worth it because they treat their customers with respect and consideration and service your car in a timely manner. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. I will definitely be returning to have all my maintenance needs serviced at Midas in Berkeley.

I went to this place to have my front brake pads and rotors replaced for my Camry. They overcharged me for more than $100 compared to an independent shop. In addition, after less than 10,000 miles, my front brakes are squeaking like hell. It even squeaks when I am not even pressing on the brake pedal. I returned to the shop today. They told me the squeaking noise is from my rear brakes. I had my rear brakes replaced. The noise continues. Please do not go to this shop! They dont stand by their work. Will definitely not coming back!

They broke my car. They said they would call when it was ready but didnt. When I picked it up the service tech ignored me. When I eventually got done, the key would not turn in the ignition. When I said this he said maybe it was my fault because people dont like Uber. The supervisor finally got the car fixed but only after I took video of the yelling. I promised to delete the video and I have.

Showed up 20 mins before closing. They refused to do a simple oil change because of the time. In my experience a business is to take customers until they are closed. This wasnt a cool experience. There were no customers at all waiting. They couldve easily serviced my vehicle. If you are coming here for service, show up at 45 mins before they close or be rejected.

Ive brought both my truck and my wifes car here, and I am always impressed by the reasonable rates and total lack of high-pressure sales. They give their straightforward recommendations, along with options on what you should consider now, what can wait a while, and what can wait forever. Fast, economical and courteous. Its a winning combination.

This is an honest and reliable shop. Ive had tires installed on a 3-series BMW there and they did a great job. They also have skilled alignment technicians there - and these folks are very hard to come by.
