The positives are that they are mostly nice, inexpensive with a coupon (you get what you pay for) and have massage chairs in the waiting area. I went here because of a Yelp coupon for an alignment. I returned several times over nearly a year, with varying results. Basically, I felt they didnt really know what they were doing, did a mediocre job and tended toward pressure tactics to boost sales. Specifically, they forgot to rotate the tires, and when it came back they neglected to change the tire pressure, leaving my front tires over-inflated 14 psi , and rear under-inflated 14 psi. They also never seem to get the steering wheel straight the first time. The main problem was that my car pulled to the left, but it wasnt until I had it in for the 3rd or 4th time that they said it just couldnt be done - although they didnt seem to be clear as to why, and certainly werent able to explain it to me. I finally took it to my Mercedes specialist who immediately knew what it was, as its a fairly common issue with my car. The last straw was the manager telling me one of my tires was "about to fly apart," to scare me into buying tires from them. I know more than a little about cars, and although the tires had been wearing unevenly, thats not uncommon on German cars and they were all undamaged and still had a little tread left. None were worn down to the belts, which is when one might argue that a blowout is very possible. Yes, they needed to be replaced. No, they were not dangerous and were nowhere near "flying apart." Additionally, Id already told the service advisor that I had a set of new tires from another vehicle I was going to have mounted. They wanted to charge more than twice what another tire shop wanted to do the job. I wont be back.

I came in to Berkeley Tires with what Im sure was a pain for them. 2003 Yukon XL with 230,000 miles on it. It needed all the brakes replaced, so no big deal; but it has this "Auto Ride" feature for the shocks that was not operating. The cost to replace it was pretty high (I also checked with the dealership and it was considerably more to repair than Berkeley Tires) and I was reluctant to do the work. I mean, shocks??? Heck, Ive replaced them myself for less than a hundred bucks. But not on this vehicle with its auto-ride system. I finally said okay but I was less than a nice customer with my questioning and overall doubtful demeanor that I really needed to do this. Jack was patient with me the whole time and never got upset with my negativity. I left the car off on a Friday morning and then learned that the shocks were installed but the compressor would not arrive until Monday. I absolutely needed the car that weekend and they let me pick it up and bring it back on Monday. But I didnt bring it back for about three weeks (idiot that I was). When I did bring it back the new ($1,700) shocks they put in were ruined from my driving on them with no compressor. Now they needed to replace the new ones with another set and install the compressor. They actually covered the cost of the new shocks (!!), installed the compressor, and the car runs beautifully. I cant believe he did that for me when it was my fault for not bringing the car back as agreed. He has a customer for life, and Im here to tell you that if you are considering repair work you will be glad you came to this shop. They are pleasant, professional, and know what they are doing.

Got to the shop early, unannounced, only to find the owners daughter (or whomever she may be) just getting back from taking the car for a joyride. They said it wouldnt be ready until later. That was a blatant lie. I understand a mechanic having to drive the car around the block to check things out, but the girl from the office with the shopping bags in her hands as she gets out of the car that they said wouldnt be ready until later? Psssshhh. Thats freaking shady. And she had the guiltiest, most obvious look of "oh crap I got caught" on her face. And the service "technicians" barely seem to know what they are doing. No thank you. We wont be back. I will not only not recommend it. I will affirmatively urge people to avoid it and go elsewhere.

I came in for them for 1 thing and they did more. I came in to have a tire replaced. I sat on their massage chair for two 15min cycles. Wondering why it took soo long I get up. They have all 4 tires off my car and the rotors. Said it was a requirement to check my breaks as well once the tires were off. Only should have been 1 tire off. It took them like an hour+ to do a simple tire change. Thats an hour I couldnt do lyft and money lost. Nice guy but crappy service

My mother gifted me new tires from here and they patiently worked with both of us via phone and in person. I had an appointment but it still took a little over 3 hours which I spent at a nearby café. Besides the long wait, it was a good experience. Decent price and they have massage chairs in their waiting area which is a nice touch. The alignment was a little pricey though so we decided to get that somewhere else.

This place is slow to the point that makes you would never go back there again like 2.5 hour oil change what ! , They also have an attitude with customers when dont wish to spend more or do certain repair . Like thats their car and you should do exactly what they ask for not mentioning than other than the coupons their price for the repairs is outrageous

Overall great service, havent had any issues. Brought my vehicle here whenever it has needed tires, alignment, breaks, and general maintenance. Experiance is positive. Staff are friendly, service is slightly on the expensive side.

Best tire shop in the east bay. Bought four new tires, for a great price, and they have since done two repairs for no charge. Ran over some nails... buy local and support these great folks. Ill buy my next tires here for sure
