In responce to the individual that wrote the terrible review they clearly walked into the facility with a bad attitude. Actually, I am almost positive that I was there the day an older women(not sure if that was mom) picked up a little girl from the preschool class. My son walked up to the women and told her that the little girl had a bad day. My child (bless his heart) has special needs and has a tendency to do things like that. The teacher did correct my son and told the women that the girl actually had a great day. Why? Not becuase she was hiding something, but because my son likes to make things up. I have had my children at several KinderCares over the years. My experience has been nothing but positive. The teachers are very educated and well trained to meet the needs of the children. In all of the years we have been attending I have NEVER heard a teacher raise their voice or say inapproprate comments to a child. As far as reporting injuries, the teachers have always had me sign an incident report, and handled my sons scrapes and bruises properly. It sounds like this women may listen to her 2/3 year old child a little too much. Children at this age tend to make things up, or confuse reality with make believe.

I find it odd that Kindercare gets a bad review and suddenly it has three sparkling reviews from nameless users who have never reviewed anything else, two of which "coincidentally" occurred on the same day. Hmmmm??? I did not have my child in a Kindercare, however, I toured this location and was a bit disturbed by the program. The program seemed to be more about what was easy for the teachers than what was best for the childrens development. Every developmentally appropriate question I asked was answered with "we dont do that here." When we walked through the 3 year old room, the children seemed like zombie children not making much sound, it made me wonder if they were making the food especially to keep the children calm like they do in jails & prisons. The teachers were sitting around talking to each other instead of facilitating the learning of the children, that is, until we walked in the room. But what do you expect when the teachers get paid $10/hour for watching $12,000+/month worth of children at once. Kindercare is set up more like a public school program and less like what is best for childrens education.

if you want to take your children to a place where ... a) the teachers hate their jobs b) the director gives no support c) the food is all canned-nothing fresh d) it is over priced then this is the place for your child! The director Ms. Carrie is hardly ever there, shes always somewhere else- not even in the school grounds! Last time I checked, some sort of director has to be on site at all times! and the director should always always always be there during hours of operation. and recently they have been having licensing visits . this place is horrible. now- some of the teachers are great! we loved ms. daya, ms. charlotte, ms. brenda, ms. anabelle to name a few. The problem lies within management. Without a strong and supportive leader, the whole workplace falls. its sad, really. anyway, find somewhere else to bring your kids.

The first day I heard a teacher say to a little boy (age 3) that if he did not stop crying that his mom would not come and get him. My daughter got punched in the stomach and hit by a bike on the same day and the teachers never told me. When a little boy tried to tell us that she had a "bad day" the teacher interrupted with "dont tell them that she had a bad day, she had a good day". While not all of the teachers there are bad, the few that I did come in contact with created a classroom which did not foster cooperative learning or trust. Kindercare no longer implements "time outs" and so consequently there seems to be little meaningful consequence to negative actions. I recommend Sweet Beginnings in Oakley for an "at home" environment with small group learning.

I never have the time to write or rate places online, but when I googled the Kindercare telephone number yesterday I was sad to see the place was rated so low. My son has been going to preschool at the Brentwood location since fall. The staff is wonderful, he is doing well academically, and the accommodations with our schedule have been truly amazing. When we first signed my son up for preschool at Kindercare I was somewhat reluctant because I always viewed Kindercare as more of a daycare. We decided to try it because they were overly accommodating with our work schedule. I am so thankful we did because we love the place.

Kindercare is an excellent childcare/learning facility from the administration to the classrooms. Ms. Penny, Mina, Veronica & Kayla in the toddler/2 room(s) are exceptional! They are all very nurturing, attentive and provide detailed information on everything our child does, everyday. The meals and curriculum are well rounded and thought out. I am very impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness and care of the entire operation. Any review to the contrary is baloney, check it out for yourself.

My girls attended here from June 2009--April 2011. Every day was a struggle. Teachers were constantly being changed out, "incident reports" were ridiculous, my girls would cry at drop off. Now that theyre out of there they call it their icky school. We now have them at Wee Care and they are SO HAPPY they cant wait to go to school.
