I have had a horrible experience with this company. I would stay far far away from them. I have used many different moving companies over the years and this one is particular bad. When they break stuff they lie about it and claim that they did not and then refuse to pay on the insurance policy that your paid for. I had AMS Bekins pack up my house when I was living in a different city and then keep it in storage for a few years. Finally, I had my belongings moved to my new home by Bekins. I had a very nice and expensive stereo system and one of my prized piece of equipment did not work when I got it. The main company out of the midwest claimed that they were not responsible because they did not pack it and AMS Bekins in Burlingame now denies any liability because "their driver" that they interviewed said that no boxes were damaged. I sent Val Hardwick at AMS Bekins in Burlingame, CA pictures of many crushed boxes. Replacement price for piece of equipment is several hundreds of dollars. This company I would put in the category of dishonest and I am going to report them to the BBB in Northern California. So, if you care about your belongings I would go with another company and never ever put anything in storage with AMS Bekins.
I scheduled a free in home estimate. No one showed up. No one contacted me. I called Bekins to see what was going on. I expected there might be some reasonable delay. Perhaps the person was in traffic. But no. The Bekins representative told me that they called me 3 times yesterday and cancelled on me!!!!!!!! I received no voice message and no e-mail message. They went ahead and cancelled my appointment! The representative tried to make-up lies about how the call was disconnected because of a baby. First of all, the call was complete. If it wasnt, why in the hell didnt the representative immediately call me back? INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! ABSOLUTELY AVOID. WHAT A HORRENDOUS, HORRIBLE COMPANY! I WILL NEVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH BEKINS.
What a RIP-OFF, not only was their service unsatisfactory, but they charged me $300 to remove my personal property. The Salesman never told me about the $300 pick up charge nor was it in writing anywhere on the contract. As far as the poor service, I called to ask about picking up my 2 containers and how much time they would require, they said "give us 2-3 days". So I call back the next month to make the appt to get my property as we are all ready to move into our new home and they tell me it will now take 2 weeks because they are back logged.....what? Im moving and I need my property.....they dont care, so we had to move without these 2 containers.........and now the $300 Surprise
I have to move YET AGAIN!!! I reached out to AMS Bekins... they had an estimator scheduled within a day. They provided me with the estimate on the next business day. Bill, the move estimator, was a very nice guy and we were happy to have him in our home again. Although moving is not fun, I am excited to be able to do it with a company that has already proven themselves with me in multiple other locations. THANK YOU AGAIN AMS BEKINS!!
A move with no stress? Count me IN! They explain everything along the way and all the move milestones happened as explained. Moving sucks, but at least there wasnt any added stress because dealing with AMS was a breeze. No wonder they have been in business for so long!
