Liars and ripoff crooks. Notice how the good an excellent post have no names or faces. I really got taken advantage of by Hollywood Movers. The original estimate was $1750 and I asked for them to come give me a real I really got taken advantage of by Hollywood Movers. Vicki talked so nice and reassuring about the company. The guys loading said you know this going over the weight so we figured gee maybe double but too late to throw away boxes of our things. How many people know how much close or dishes weight? Earliest delivery would be Monday. Then general manager Bobby called on Saturday said it was over $4000 more and if I didnt pay cash and take delivery on Sunday they would put in storage and didnt know when I would get it. I tried to talk with him but he was a total jerk. Who has $4000 cash on hand on a weekend. He finaly said Ill give you $200 off but only if you pay up on Sunday. I had already paid over $1000 in advance now $4000 more! Felt like my belongings were being ransomed. No wonder my friends and family warned me against movers. But we didnt have any choice since age and bad health kept us from driving a UHaul. Gratefully family pitched in and helped me pay the slime ball. If they would have sent an estimater like Vicki promised we would have known ahead. They never really give estimates because people wouldnt use them. They even had Better Business Bureau and Angies list recommendations on their website. Now sweet Vicki doesnt return my emails or phone calls. If you dont get a written quote by representative of the company that has seen what you are moving thats a sure sign they are going to rip you off. If they are so reputable why do the demand cash in advance. Please help spread the word about these ripoff artists taking advantage of another trusting senior.

If I could go back in time, I wouldve used another moving company. Youd be much better off with another one, even if that means paying a little extra. My experience with Hollywood Moving was very poor. They arrived unprepared (needed to clean out the truck), moved slowly, took a 10min break and left early. I managed to move within the amount of time I was quoted for only because I moved half of my own stuff and left a lot behind as to not have to pay more and go over my budget. Only minor damage was done to my belongings, but I believe that was because I watched them like a hawk throughout the entire move. When I spoke with the manager he didnt address any of my concerns, but rather accused me of being a liar and said that I exaggerated the truth. My experience with both the movers and management lacked professionalism. Hollywood Moving displayed an extreme lack of professionalism, were misleading (as another reviewer stated as well) with policies and procedures, and were very rude and careless. You can do much better for yourself.

I thought I had found a good deal but NO. I feel extremely ripped off. I tried to give a detailed inventory of my things. I went room to room with a clipboard and wrote down every thing that was bigger than a small box. From that a quote was made. Who out there know how much their belongings weigh. Well ya better get it right because if you dont they will up charge you to death. I had some stuff damaged a door had a huge rip, two antiques blew off the back of the truck wholes in walls from running into it with furniture. I wrote a detailed letter trying to make things right and got no response. All I asked for in the letter was to be charged as agreed. If they tried to work with me I would have not written this letter. The guys who packed worked hard!!!, but complained of not being treated like humans. Planning around there schedule was a nightmare. They can take as long as they like to get you your stuff and cant tell you even after they have it and know where they are going.

If i could give them 0 i would. This company is the worst company i have ever seen in my life. The milk the clock and triple the price and request payment before they unload the truck. Then if you do not have the amount they are demanding because you didnt think the price would triple they take your stuff hold it hostage and then charge you $500 more on top of the amount they were charging already. So a $500 overall quote turned into $1695. They will not negotiate and they are so rude and disrespectful. I should have read the reviews before using them. My mother slept on hardwood floors for 4 nights. With only the clothes on her back. I am way in Kansas Cit, MO and can not help her. She had to borrow $900 to get her stuff. Which when she did she is missing stuff and they broke the corner piece couch of her sectional. I have never never never dealt with such disrespectful, rude, arrogant people in my life. I have never been to California and this makes me never want to go!!!!!!!

Our movers showed up 15 hours late, in the middle of the night. They caused us to miss our flight, so we had to drive 14 hours to our new home. We were told by vicky (when booking this company) that the move would take 3 days, and it has been 11 days and they are not here.I have spent the last ten days calling to reach the company and no one has picked up or called back. Today I called and spoke to Bobby about requesting a partial refund, and he was incredibly rude, argumentative, and laughed at us for asking for some money back. He said that technically our movers were only 45 mins late (they showed up at 12:52 AM) even though we were told they would be there in the morning, 15 hours earlier. DO NOT work with this company!! They were dishonest about everything, uncommunicative, and plain rude.
