PLEASE SEE THE REVIEWS FROM OTHER GUESTS. This place has a very scandalous method of taking your money. I am a member that prepaid for two years. I brought in a friend that wanted to try out the facilities. What I was told is that he can try it for free and if he did not like it or want to come back then nothing will be charged to my credit card i have on file. Under the condition if he wanted to extend the trial by going again, the next time , it would cost 20$. Then if I was charged 20$ it would count towards the 1 time membership fee and the monthly agreement. My friend never came back because it isnt maintained to his liking. If you look at other reviews you will see what type of service and commitment the staff has towards the facility. Most negative comments are not exaggerated. They did not collect 20$ but magically I was charged a membership fee. They stopped the extra membership I never consented to, but would not refund the charge. They offered to take off the 9.99$ fee but not the 20$ fee. It seems rather petty for a club to not want to refund per their error. I will update my review to see how the management responds. I have a very bad taste in my mouth and never will bring any potential guests to try. This place is horrible with bad service. Walter is the salesperson that allowed this to happen. The manager was a Japanese lady named Kimiko or something. This is all very unprofessional and I dont encourage anyone to join if this is how they treat clients. I wonder if when verbalizing that they would cancel my membership, if they actually did, or would be shady once more (3rd time). Im writing to give membership an opportunity to correct their errors and turn a horrible dishonest situation into an almost positive situation. It doesnt seem like they will and I probably will need to remind them for dropping the ball.

24 Gym is probably the worst gym I have ever been a member of. It has really made me appreciate former gyms. Often, sanitizer is not available. So, people use machines continuously while never cleaning anything. It is incredibly unsanitary. If something says "out of order" you need to plan on in staying that way for weeks and weeks to come. A few weeks ago, the elevator was out of order and I watched an older woman CRAWL up the stairs in utter humiliation. People definitely monopolize machines--doing anywhere from 3-20 sets without ever moving. I know that there isnt a lot that 24 gym can do..but those are the kind of people that are working out there. If an elliptical machines works, then the TV connection probably doesnt. If the TV connection works, then the calorie counter probably doesnt. Get my drift? I have moved from machine to machine countless times trying to find one that works, has a calorie counter, and a TV connection. It really is ridiculous. Oh, and if you want to be part of a class (yoga, cycling, etc) then you need to get there at least one HOUR earlier to get in a line to sign up on the list. Then, they call roll in the classes to make sure no one is in there who didnt sign up (wasting your workout time). As I am leaving the gym (about every other day) there is a person complaining or screaming at a 24 hour associate. I feel bad for the associate but I am pretty sure they are complaining about things that most other people would agree with. 24 is a cheap gym. However, if you have a little more to spend, I would avoid the headaches and go elsewhere.

There is literally 1000s of pounds of weights sitting on the floor. This is the messiest 24 hour Ive been and I average a new location every 3 weeks as I travel for a living. Terrible gym culture is contagious and there is no signs letting newbies to rack their weights. I watched a personal trainer teaching over head press, good teaching but then take the weights off the bar and then leave them on the ground.... What the hell!!!?!?!! The 15 pounds on each side were too heavy to walk the 4 feet to put it back?!?!? Apparently matching the numbers on the Dumbbells and rack station is too hard for the members. The staff is happy selling junk and memberships which Im sure corporate loves. This place is a hazard for anyone who isnt careful. This places spacing is garbage too, too much room between some stations and none next to others; I guess a tape measure wasnt around when placing equipment. They also have 2 squat racks but 5-6 different leg presses. I know people love machines but its terrible when you have 8 people waiting on two racks. After this experience, I didnt bother look in the locker room or go down stairs. Anytime fitness is down the street, try checking that place out!

Dont waste your time. I tried getting a 7 day guess pass to see how Id like the gym. I live across the street and figured it would be great because of the location and also my friend works out there. I walked up to the front counter and watched the two of the associates (for about 5 min) chatting about their weekend until one of them reluctantly asked if I needed help. I explained I was looking for a 7 day guest pass to try the gym out and was interested in joining. They rudley dismissed my request saying 3 consecutive days only end of story. Id rather drive to In-Shape in clayton which is about 20 minutes out of my way than to be disrespected by the rude staff at 24 hour fitness again. I guess business must be good to be treating new customers so rudely. Even my dad who was with me was shocked by how the associate dismissed me so quickly. Negative staff, negative energy stay far away unless your looking for that vibe in the gym.

This is a review of this specific 24 Hour Fitness not 24 Hour as a whole. Im not sure how to start this review. Coming to this location is always a nightmare. Its based in a mall so there is never enough parking, even at 10pm. No matter what time I stop by this location the mens locker room is always disgusting, clumps of hair on the floor, odor of urine, and miscellaneous trash left around. I wish the staff of this location care half as much for the upkeep as they did about pushing personal trainer sessions. Ive gone to locations all over the bay area and this by far is the worst one. If you have to come here make sure to bring some sort of sandals or something if you have to shower.

Not sure what to make of these commenters talking about "swingin meat" and naked people in the locker rooms and how Christians shouldnt go there. Sweet Jesus, really? People in locker rooms are often naked, by the way ... Returning to reality, this place is crowded on weeknights, and equipment is sometimes broken. Delays in fixing things havent seemed overly long in my five years at this gym. Could stand to be cleaned a bit more often. But for what I pay, I think this place is great. And I have NEVER been pressured into anything by staff here (that was a problem for 24-Hour back in the day, though)
