Have been going 2 this gym for about 10 years, because it is close to my house, but here are the issues, every time our membership is up for renewal we get a Email or a call from a new manager, they change so often, with a new offer, after going back and forth, we agree to a set rate, we always prepay for 15 to 18 months, they never put it right, they always put something different than agreed in the contract, it takes a lot of haggling to get what was promised, this last time, I got so fed up with the new rude manager that I decided to cancel and go back to club sport, it is a little farther, but much better equipped, This gym also had some hygiene and maintenance issues, Only two sinks in the mens lockers, the third one has been out of service for two years, have complained many times, but no one cares, A lot of times, you will find used blades, unsightly band aid in the shower which grosses you out. Many times, they run out of towels, because they are understaffed or the employees are just standing around doing nothing. You will find equipment out of service for a long time, the list goes on and on, The trainers, some rude, will take over an area and act like they have the preferences, particularly the transgendered one, Just be careful when you give them your card, it might take a herculean effort to stop them from charging you,

The membership fee is inconsistent here. I joined at $50 a month with a $70 enrollment fee, but my friend told me she was able to pay $30/month with a paid in full option. Another friend who was considering joining told me she got quoted a rate of $40/month if she paid in full. When I decided to leave, one membership person told me she could make it $40/month. When I decided to take the offer, the general manager, Tony, said there were no paid in full options and revoked the offer. He was very rude about it and seems to be clueless about customer service. So they basically lie about their options in hopes of getting more money out of you. Seems like an used car dealership type of tactic they have here. The gym itself is small. There isnt much equipment to go around. The childcare is just one small room with a huge range of ages and one person there to keep watch. I was afraid my little one would be trampled over so I never dared drop her off there. Theres plenty better gyms and other options in the neighborhood.

The actual facility is ok and i dont have an issue; the weight machines are very good in fact. What i have a problem with is everything else. The company, in general, is awful. I had attempted to cancel my account for about 8 months as i had moved away, and after being unable to reach anyone on the corporate phone, i simply told my credit card to stop sending payments. Sure enough, after my first missed payment, guess who called? Then, after explaining the situation, they had the gall to tell me i had to go into the store to cancel. Can i do it over the phone? Oh im sorry, i cant help you with that, but if you would like to give me your money over the phone, please provide you CC number. No thanks. Will never, ever join this gym again.

This gym is the cleanest in the eastbay area. Plenty of equipment, lots of squat racks, a deadlift platform and everybody seems to know what they are doing. For the price and no contract its the best gym in my book. Ive tried the "Globogyms" but steroid freaks and attention wh#res aint my thing.

When a spouse or child calls with an emergency the staff can never find the person you need right away! They should have a small grease board to right the persons name on and walk around the gym until that person is found due to most wearing headphones or ear budsmusic and can

I nice GYM but most people are talking and on Thier phones they dont know a thing about training I g even trainers but facility is beautiful
