A few days after I left this review and filed a bait & switch complaint with the BBB, Jenni the owner called me. I returned her call thinking she was going to politely correct the problem like an adult or atleast explain her deceiving online ad. Instead she unleashed a very unprofessional tirade about how she does "not care" about the complaint, that I am "backstabbing" and that I am a "mean person." I actually had to hang up on her because her tone became very billigerently, she continued to call me names, and she would not let me speak. She mentioned that I told her that I was happy with my hair. This is true. I did tell her that because the highlights looked brown and blended under the lighting at the salon. However, outside, under natural light, they looked red and streaky,- exactly the opposite of what I asked for. I also told her that I was happy with the service before II went to pay and saw that they tried to charge me an additional $20, and before I got home and saw that all of the red dye they used had stained the back of my light, pink sweater. Beware of this place! I went to The Grand after I saw an online special: Color, Cut, Blow dry with a full set of nails package Only $85. The only other information that they give is that you must mention the promotion at the time of check out. I, however, mentioned it before I scheduled my appointment. When I arrived at the salon my color consultation consisted of Jenni speaking to me while shes working on someone else. From the ad, I assumed "Color" meant all over color. In actuality, it means retouching partial highlights. Retouching means I would already have to have highlights which I didnt. Jenni told me to add color highlights, give me cut and blow dry would cost $110. But that she could throw in a free pedicure. I agreed. I would rather pay a little more and get exactly what I want, plus I desperately needed a trim. For my highlights, I requested well-blended, natural-looking, subtle carmel tones added to my naturally blackish brown hair. I emphasized and repeated well-blended, natural-looking, subtle. I was very forgiving when my highlights came out noticeably blonde and not blended,- meaning I could see where they started and ended. They were able to darken them by adding red color. And even though I did emphasize subtle and blended, the highlights still look streaky! I also have a reddish tint around my hair line. I know my hair will grow back and the tint will fade. And I am very happy with my cut and blow out, so I just let it go

Jenny is an amazing lady. I have a 10th grade daughter. Since I cant pick her up at her school everyday, Jenny has been voluntarily doing my job to pick my daughter up from school and send her to her home since the first day of school back to fall, 2009. Every day I pick up my daughter from her home or her salon, but never thought to have my hair or my daughters hair done by Jenny. My daughter has a hair stylist in Sacramento, and she only allow him to touch her hair. To be honest, I dont like her hair style at all. Since we live in Folsom, it is a long way drive to the 65 Street just for a hair cut. My daughters hair has always been wild and unmanageable. It was a sort of pain in my heart for long time. Last night, my daughter called me at Jennys salon and said Jenny wanted to give her a hair cut. I was very happy about this but with little worry. I couldnt wait to see how my daughters new hair style looks like. WOW. my daughter just looked like a different person!! Her hair has NEVER been shine like this before and the new style just fits her face and personality PERFECTLY. That style is just what I wanted for my daughter. My daughter seems very happy and she said it just took Jenny three minutes to finish her hair. The next morning, my daughters hair was still in place and shiny. I am truly amazed by Jennys good heart and her unmatched professional skills in hair style. I will recommend her to all my friends.

Grand Salon has THE WORST customer service I have ever seen in my life. I was a loyal customer at the Grand Salon for two years until this week, when I got a call from the owner or manager, who stated that the appointment I had made 5 days prior to see my former manicurist Jason, had to be cancelled. The reason she gave me? “It’s because your nails take too long and we can’t “allow” you to come here during the weekend; only during the week when we are not busy. We need to make money.” I was so baffled by the absurd, rude and disrespectful attitude that all I could tell her is that they can’t treat a customer like that. At least in America, that’s not how you do business. She decided to continue with her rude remarks and added a little more to it: “We have the right to refuse service”. How can people do business treating people like this? I don’t understand. And I used to tip them nearly 40% for the services provided. I will never come back to this place again, and I am now spreading the word in town because I have been part of this community for nearly 20 years and know A LOT OF people. Many have already said that they are not going there anymore. So, respect yourself and your money and stay away from this place.

I read the comment below and it is absolutely absurd! Jenny is AMAZING at what she does! I have tried 50 plus salons in the Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Yuba-Sutter areas and she is the ONLY woman that is capable of creating a hairstyle that not only matches your face, but stays well after youve gone home, and washed and blow-dried your hair on your own! She can do a mean A-line and an even better bob! She is fast, and I mean REALLY fast...sometimes she has up to 3 people in the chairs next to each other and simutaneously does cuts, color and perms! Ive seen it with my own eyes! Ladies, if you want a haircut done right, youve got to see Jenny at the Grand Salon. Just call and ask for her and watch her perform miracles on your hair!

I have been religiously getting my hair cut with Jenny at Grand Salon for 20 years...even before her move from Citrus Heights to Folsom. Even though I am a shopping center owner with a well noted salon in it, Ive been travelling to Jenny/Grand Salon over all these years. Nothing short of the BEST service/BEST cut Ive ever had in a salon. Service and customer appreciation is her #1 goal. Shes a master at hair, at business. I appreciate this business and Jenny and highly recommend ANYONE who wants a quality Salon treatment go see Jenny or any of the other professional at Grand Salon. Any other comment short of 5 stars is erroneous to me.

New ownership and great customer service! I stopped going to the Grand Salon years ago due to the service not being what I expected. Just went with my daughter to Make Me Divine for organic manicures and loved every minute, from when we arrived to when we left. The receptionist/ manager is very professional and friendly. The organic manicures include a lime soak and coconut oil massages, finished with Zola nail color- and they have tons of shades. We each got a cute little gift bag when we left from our manicurists with organic argon oil for our hair! So happy Make Me Divine is in our neighborhood!
