WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Recently Ive been having some trouble with my car. I had seen one of you commercials on T.V. and decided to stop by (2-28-11). When we arrived to the shop Michael Vossler (the service writer) had hollered to my mother and I in an obnoxious manner to come to the back office for service. Michael informed me it would take a couple hours and that he would call me when it was ready. A couple hours go by and still no call from Mike. It was about 4:30pm when my mother and I came back to your shop for the results. Michael was outside smoking a cigarette talking to the technician who was working on my car. Cigarette in ear, Michael informed me about the repairs needed for my vehicle and the costs related to them. When I began asking Michael questions regarding "mark ups" on dealer parts he told me it was "irrelevant" and disregarded my question in a short and rude manner. In fact this is relevant to the consumer because it affects my cost. If he didnt want to disclose that info he could have chose better words to express him self. Then I asked him if they would still install the parts if I had brought them myself. Mike informed me they could install the parts but there would be no warranty. That question led to what the actual warranty would be if AAMCO supplied the parts and service. His response was vague and it was hard to get a solid answer regarding the time & mileage of the warranty. At this point Michaels demeanor was defensive and arrogant, irritated with my questions and concerns. I reassured Mike that I was just trying to understand the reasoning behind his pricing, that way I could compare it to other shops to ensure I was getting the best price possible. That’s when Michael pointed to a sign that read something like "you get what you pay for". It wasnt in those words exactly but it was definitely the message it portrayed. I told Michael that I was a service writer for many years and that I was familiar with the process of the automotive industry. His response to that was, “then why are you asking questions”. To be honest I was considering doing business with AAMCO but by this point I had enough. I became disgusted with Michael Vossler’s rude, unprofessional, wise guy remarks and left the shop. This was my first time ever dealing with AAMCO regarding my automotive needs and the impression I got was that AAMCO didn’t want my business. Michael Vossler has compromised the integrity of your business and I hope no one else has to deal with his poor customer service as I did.

I took my 96 Camry in to AAMCO because I was pretty sure the transmission was the source of some noise I couldnt quite identify. Mike and his staff checked the car over completely and informed me that the ring and pinion in the differential were getting worn. I asked how much it would cost to repair and was not prepared for the numbers that came back to me. $1,500 minimum and perhaps more but they wouldnt know until they dropped it and got a look at it. I apologized to Mike and told him I didnt really have the money at the time to proceed with the repairs. Other than the fact that the transmission was making some noise it was working just fine in every other respect. Mike did his best to reassure me that the car was still reliable and wouldnt leave me standing by the side of the road any time soon. It was a repair that could wait. I dont know anything about transmissions and that is why I took it to an expert for evaluation. This is where Mikes character was revealed to me. He could have hustled me and told me the repairs were needed now...but he didnt. I got straight talk about the vehicles current condition and a clear idea about how I could expect it to perform in the future. He did tell me if the noise got any louder I should probably bring it back for another look. When I when to pick up the car, Mike took me into the shop and showed me a similar transmission that was disassembled for repair. He took the time to show me what he was talking about so I would understand what was involved. The best surprise of all came as I prepared to leave. No charge for the inspection! SWEET! I know this is not a typical repair story but it was my experience today at the AAMCO on Thornton. Thanks Mike! Youre a good man. D. Brogan Union City, CA

Best visit to a mecahnic shop ever. They told me up front what they could do for no charge inspection, and any costs incurred if older than 1995(which would be taken off the bill if you have the work done there), then when they completed their initial inspection I was told upfront, what the cost would be for initial repairs; and if anything else was found they would inform me. Something else was found, and I was invited down to see the discovered problem with my vehicle while it was on the rack. It was nice to be able to see the problem, and not incur any additional costs(they would still fix the original problem at no new cost; but i was given the chance to have additional repairs done on clutch without the added fee of dropping tranny to get to problem,,, since tranny was already dropped to fix leaky seals.) Best overall service and really fair price. They were able to work with me on paying and even fixed a few minor problems that never found there way on to bill. Gonna bring all my vehicles here from now on.

I thought I had an issue with my power steering when Les Schwab referred me to Michael. I thought for sure Id be looking at major repair I even told him what I thought it was and was prepared to pay it. He looked at the problem and declared it was something else and fixed it for $50! Id trust Michael any day and hes the only one whos going to diagnose and fix any problem on my vehicle!

The Aamcos out here in CA well the 2 I have been to are great. Both the stores in Oakland, and Fremont went above what I expected to help me out on my car. I ended up saving a lot of money and the staff seem very experienced in helping you out to fit in my schedule not necessary theirs. This guys are perfect I will keep coming back to them for a long time. Thanks guys

These guys are my "Go To" auto service place. I am so disillusioned with Fremont Ford. I had my transmission rebuilt by AAMCO a couple of years ago and have been a client ever since. They do not try to up-sell you on anything, they are professional and do a great job. Give them a try. You wont regret it.
