HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Im a regular at the First and Herndon Fitness Evolution and I generally could care less about the person tending to the front desk and lack of "welcoming" greetings to the customers. BUT this morning was completely unacceptable. Fridays this particular gym opens at 5 A.M. (I arrived at 5 A.M.) but no staff showed up until 6:30 A.M. (some young manager) and even that person did not apologize to anyone nor, made any eye contact. More staff miraculously started to appear once the gym opened but NOT A SINGLE STAFF took responsibility for the tardiness. I still worked out but briefly because this already pushed my daily schedule off tremendously. Once I was walking to the exit to depart NO APOLOGY from anyone of the staff members. IN FACT! the only thing I received immediately was " Bye have a nice day." from the front desk girl (this girl generally opens Fridays). AND this isnt the first time this has happened. It has happened TWO PRIOR TIMES BEFORE with the same staff member. Is this how Fitness Evolution on First and Herndon operates??? The customer service has generally always been less than decent but seriously not even a half ass apology from any staff member?!?!?! It seems their staff has zero common etiquette. During this time of waiting there were plenty of people whom came and left once they realized no one was showing up. I chose to wait because fitness is a major part of my life ( plus morning workouts there is no waiting for any machine... generally ). I am seriously considering switching gyms because ever since this gym opened up (prior to being fitness evolution it was a Blast ) the staff has been horrible with even giving a decent greeting. Even McDonalds in the ghetto parts of Fresno has better customer service than this gym.

I signed up at the location on Maroa and Shields and all of the people were very friendly there. They said to get set up with a smart start appointment which I thought was a meeting where you sit down and talk about your goals, not a training. I asked specifically at the first location, "will I be shown how to use equipment" and they said "its more about nutrition and your goals". Okay cool. I got to the location on Herndon and first for my smart start appointment, and the people at the front desk were rude understaffed and too busy to help me. The first guy said "do you have a quick question Im with a client" and I said I just have an appointment with randy, and he said ok sit down. I waited and randy came out at told me that no one even told him I was there. He looked at me up and down and said did you bring any workout clothes? And I said no I was told that this is just a meeting about my goals and a fitness plan on how I intend to reach them. And he gave me a dirty look and said ok follow me. His personable skills are very low and it seems to me like he has no real interest in being nice to the guests at the gym, even when there was a miscommunication. No one told me what this appointment was going to be from his location and he then compared me to the girls he had just trained right before me. That they came prepared, but I did come prepared for the appointment that I thought I was getting myself into. Now I have to go back and give him a 2nd chance for a different smart start appointment where hopefully hell give off a better second impression than he did the first. If this gym membership wasnt a gift I would have terminated it today before I left, so hopefully my next experience is better than the one I had.

They broadened my expectations of what I thought poor customer service is. The only consistent aspect of this gym is that there will always be someone complaining about the hidden charges on their bill. Its truly stunning how employees simply do not care about the customers. I feel so bad for people touring the gym and do my best to inform them of how bad it is. They transformed the gym to make it a smaller place where the majority of the gym is LOCKED and reserved for EVOFIT classes. Best part, no matter what membership you purchase, YOU WILL ALWAYS PAY MORE FOR THE EVOFIT CLASSES. There used to be yoga, spin, swim, zumba, etc that were included in gym membership. AS OF TODAY, THOSE ARE ALL CANCELLED. The craziest part about this all is that I dont even have to pay for my membership and I will opt to pay to go to another gym. I was gifted a year membership because a group of friends and I were treated so poorly by staff. I was hoping it was a rogue trainer. Instead, its the whole company. No interest in having any dialogue with you, only selling you. Think of the movie/play "Glengarry Glen Ross" but with trainers selling you on programs with hidden cost. p.s. Shout out to all the people who have worked their a week or two only to have their soul crushed by the employee atmoshpere. I have always been happy to see the good employees go, because there are jobs, places to work that ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!

sad to say the trainers are unprofessional and rude . A lot of people that I have brought as first timers have even noticed it. They seem very shallow like if your not paying for their personal training theyre assholes about equipment that are "available"at other locations..... I tried to return unopened protein once and the whole staff came up to the counter wanting to know the issue. They all seem to want to know everyones business. Im outgrowing this gym. I used to go to cedar n ashlan n loved it there but since there is no day care there Im now forced to go to Herndon because of evo fiit . Which that class is an additional fee for "group training" basically a 45 circuit training . I would not even bother paying when u can do a boot camp class n get the same workout in. Anyways u can definitely feel the shallowness its in the air !

Signed up about 10 months ago with my girlfriend, and was supposed to have a once a month meeting with a trainer to make sure Im doing what I was set out to do and take measurements. Only once in the 10 months did the trainer actually meet with us. After the 1st time the guy canceled and never tried to meet up with us again. Not even a call or a text. So if youre thinking of signing up with this gym, dont. Almost no staff. And there is a "cancelation" fee of one extra months payment. Even though I hadnt come to the gym in 4 or more months, they still had me pay for the last month. And yes I asked about me not having to pay because I hadnt been there is so long, "youve already taken a lot of my money".

If you like weight machines, this is the gym for you. Their machines are in good shape and top notch. The free weight section is undersized and is usually crowded, even at 5:00am when Im there. The cable machines are missing almost all of the attachments. They dont let you use and of the functional training equipment like TRX Trainer, Swiss ball, kettlebells, heavy bag, etc unless you are in their group personal training classes. They had told me upon signing up that I could this equipment as long as they werent doing personal training on it. Turns out this is untrue. If the gym werent $10/mo, I probably wouldnt be there.
