OK then, for me, I would rate this a ZERO stars if I had that option--though, in fairness to "Nerds on Call," I understand my personal experience is likely unique. Took in a macbook pro on 5/2/16 to fix a broken screen. Alex told they could fix it, but there would be a non refundable labor charge of $179 (since it was definitely more than 15min), and the laptop would have to be shipped to northern CA since they had the required tools. Parts would likely be $149 or less. OK fine. Do it. They call 2 days later--though Im out of the country for another 5 days. Immediately on return, I call back and talk to Scott C. He says "unfortunately" (uh oh)...this particular model laptop will be $229 to replace JUST the glass--though, no guarantee that the entire display will work afterward. If I want a sure-thing repair, the cost for an entire new display will be an additional $449. WTF?!!! Now Im angry. What happened to the $149 max??!!! Can you say "Bait and switch"??!!? I ask to speak to the manager, and regarding the manager, Scott tells me "Hes busy." I say, "Is he there?" "Yes" "Whats he doing?" "Hes busy." "Whats his name?" "Sean Burke." "Is he with a customer?" "Yes." OK. Have him call me asap. 7 minutes later, I get a call from Redding, CA. Wow. Its the manager, Sean Burke. Did he just magically teleport from the Fresno office where he was "busy" with a customer 7 minutes earlier??!! OK. So, Scott lied. Sean says, "What can we do to make this right?" Cool. Hell listen---except, turns out he has nothing to offer. I finally say "OK, Im done. Just ship my computer back to me." This goes back and forth as he claims he can ONLY ship it back to the office in Fresno. Finally he says, hell talk to HIS manager about shipping it to my door--and hell call me back. 2 hours later, I call HIM back--leaving him a message to call asap. 24 hours later, I call HIM back AGAIN! (Why the F do I have to call HIM back??!!!) "Hi, how can I help you?" he says. I say, "Is there a reason you didnt return my calls?" "Was I supposed to?" Good grief. He now tells me he didnt know he told me hed call back and ignores my point about having left him a message 2 hours later. Turns out he sent it back to the Fresno shop ANYWAY and didnt bother to tell me. I ended up spending $179 and got ZERO for it. Im obviously HIGHLY disappointed in this BS. They jacked me around, lied to me, didnt return my calls, and then wouldnt even ship it to my house. Not ever giving them my business again.

I can not say enough positive things about Alex Woods and my experience with Nerds on Call on Champlain in Fresno. I have a small hobby/business and when my computer is not working I go in panic mode. I love that I can walk in with no appointment to Nerds on Call and can schedule the help I need. I have trusted Alex with my computer, once in 2016 and once in 2017, and both times he fixed all the problems in the time frame expected, he explained things in a way that I can understand and he helps me to set up my computer in a way that is most beneficial for me. I highly recommend Alex and Nerds on Call.

If you have the little bit of skill needed to clunk around inside your computer, paying for computer repair seems like a rip-of. But if youre not sure whats up or would like an expert to take care of it, Nerds On Call will come to your home or business, look at it and give you an estimate FOR FREE. Then its just $99 if something does need to be done. If a more specific repair needs to be done, the $99 will go towards it (like replacing a power supply in my case). Great web site too.

Jonathan was extraordinary. He was able to trouble shoot and analyze the problems I was having with my various computers related to the internet and email. He was extremely patient, kind, and had excellent communication skills. I have never received more responsive and expert service in the many years that I have been challenged by tech problems. Call Nerds on Call if you have a problem ! Jonathon was the best!!!!!

Im usually pretty good at making sure to not do anything that will bring harm to my computer. Though no one is perfect and when things start to get slow or crashy, thats when I call the Nerds. Theyre thorough and effective and my first go to when I have any complications with my computer. Im glad to have them for all my computer needs.
