Ive had nothing but great experiences here with my 2 girls over the past year. The instructors are very kind and caring people, my girls just LOVE theirs. We have participated in the June recital and in the Nutcracker and are looking forward to both again this year. The studio is small but very well run and I love that the owners are very hands on, they are almost always there and teach many of the classes themselves too. There is a lobby with seating, as well as benches placed outside outside the windows of some of the exterior classrooms. While two of the rooms do not have windows (all of the others do), I have always been told I am welcome to stay and watch at any time, and I actually think the lack of windows provides for less distraction for the 6-8 year age group. As a parent I have always been treated with respect and in fact felt that the owners went out of their way to show their appreciation for some volunteering I did during the Nutcracker performances. It feels like a family, and a place where my girls would be comfortable coming for many years to come. Regarding the parking lot… There are certain times/days when there are several classes starting/ending at once and parking does stink, but if everyone just has patience and utilizes the adjoining parking lot, it really isnt a major problem. I have only maybe twice in a year not been able to park in the parking lot and had to walk maybe 20 extra steps to the adjoining lot.

Seriously, not a review writer. Actually never done one. I am a dad so maybe I am not as "in the know" as the moms are (it is a Ballet studio after all). I judge this place by my daughters experience. And in that regard, I am highly experienced. Yes, the parking does suck. One way in , one way out.... aggressive moms trying to get their girls (and boys) in and out in safely (what a mess). But my daughter loves it. We have been to many studios. Some very pro (and expensive); some lame (in all respects of that word). This studio is where you go if you love to dance. I learned that from my daughter. The staff is focused on having fun with dancing. They are not focused on getting your kid a position at the Bolshoi. If that works out... so be it. It is a moment in most young peoples lives where they get to dance because they simply want to. And this place is about that exact thing, dancing for the joy of it. That is what I want for my girl. Dance. Just dance baby. let the parking thing go people. If easy parking and fancy observation rooms are what your looking for, look somewhere else. This place is about the experience of the dancers; not the parents. Just the Observation of a Dad who loves his daughter; and she loves to Dance. Thank for listening.

I completely concur with the other poor rating reviewer on here. This place is the most disorganized establishment I have ever witnessed. We have a shared custody situation with our child and her Father lives in San Diego, therefore we had to obtain his permission to enroll our daughter as the recitals fell on Fathers Day weekend. The dance studios first information stated that there would be one recital on that weekend. They then changed that to three recitals - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Now, her Father has called into the studio and they have informed him there are two recitals on Saturday, and one on Sunday and Monday. The dance studios complete lack of organization has led to fights with the Father over our daughter attending the recitals. Not only that, but the parking is atrocious. Good luck getting into their parking lot when trying to pick up or drop off your child. The better move is to park in the supermarket next door and walk your child through the death trap of the dance studios parking lot into the class. Furthermore, we will be cancelling our daughter from the ballet classes and demanding a refund. I have never dealt with such a disorganized and non-customer oriented establishment. Find somewhere else to send your children!!

They just dont get it! My 5 year old daughter has been going here for 2 years and we will be searching for a new studio. I have never felt like a customer of OCDC just a parent. The instructors are nice but without the help of other more experienced parents I would have left the first month. The organization is poor and Since they have moved into the new location it’s even worse; the parking is horrendous the studio they have my kid in three nights a week has no way of viewing or watching the instruction, There is no lounge to hang out in. parents are just expected to stand outside and wait for an hour each class then get into your car and leave(which is a challenge). Their customers are us parents, not our kids. Make us feel welcomed and comfortable show me my kid in training and let me take pictures. I, as the customer paying for the education of my child want to see my hard earned money put to use. Recitals that dont allow me to video my child dont cut it. I want to have more than the memory of my daughters first years of dance!

I have been dancing here for about 6 years now and it is EXCELLENT!!! What really impresses me is how much they care for each and every student, For example if they know somthing is going to hurt you in any way they wont make you do it. For example i take private lessons with the owner and i was just about to be put on point shoes (i was only like 8) by another teacher, and so i thought since i was going to start point class soon i may want to take private lessons. and right when i started taking lessons with the owner she said "THERE IS NOOO WAY YOU ARE GOING ON POINT SHOES YOU ARE WAAAAAY TO YOUNG!!!!". And then 3 years later she told me i was ready.
