I recently purchased a car battery at this place and the manager was very friendly and helpful, today I brought the car in for an oil change thinking and unfortunately the manager wasnt in and boy was there a huge difference in my experience with the staff and their lack of customer service. In fairness I only dealt with one person, he seemed to be the shift supervisor his name was Rene and he seemed to be annoyed that I was there just for an oil change and felt bothered that he had to waste his time with me. He asked if I could come back the next morning because he was short handed, while I understand things can get hectic when theres a shortage in personnel, this should never be passed on to the customer as an excuse for bad customer service. I explained to Rene that I made an appointment for today for a reason, I work a full time job and dont really have the luxury of just coming in another day in order to make it more convenient for him. I was about to walk out but I have been unable to get my oil changed for several months now due to my busy schedule and I knew it would be a while before I had the time to take my car to a different shop. So instead I asked him to just let me know how long it would be before my car would be ready to which he replied two hours, they only had one other car in the shop and no other cars in the parking lot so I figured it sounded like a fair estimate, but two hours turned into almost five. I hadnt heard from them after 3 and a half so I decided to give them a call, Rene answered and said it would be about another 20 minutes, I decided to give it a full hour before showing up just to make sure theyd have plenty of time but it still wasnt enough they still had me waiting for another 15 minutes before I was able to get my car. The biggest issue I have here is the fact that I was given such a bad estimate on the time it would take for my car to be ready, had I known it would take them 5 hours to do an oil change I wouldnt have left my car with them, I work in an in a field that requires me to deal with customers on a daily basis treating a customer like this is just not acceptable its a shame that companies like pep boys dont seem to care about providing good customer service, at least not consistently.

I want to take this opportunity to bring attention to your new La Mirada Store #1440 Manager Eddie Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was unfortunate enough to inherit a problematic situation with one of our fleet vehicles that required a new engine. The previous manager at store #1440 coordinated the services to be provided and failed to inform me at the time we were researching engine replacement options that he would be moving out of state and using a third party to do the work. We are a small non-profit and I take the responsibility of maintaining our vehicles seriously. Furthermore, because I am not a mechanic I rely on the expertise and honesty of the vendors we contract with in this case Pep Boys. This is where Mr. Ramirez outshines his predecessor in his conduct and conscientiousness towards the customers that patronize Pep Boys. Mr. Ramirez stepped up when the vehicle broke down just one day after we picked it up and had to have it towed back to the shop. Mr. Ramirez examined the vehicle again and we picked up the vehicle on December 10, 2015. Unfortunately on December 11, 2015 the vehicle was once again inoperable. It is Friday night at 5pm and my driver is stranded with a counselor on their way to a holiday event. Mr. Ramirez once again stepped up and problem solved our dilema. I am pleased to report that Mr. Ramirez took responsibility for the inconvenience and poor handling of the engine replacement. I am a Director and I understand the importance of building trust with our clients. Mr. Ramirez is the reason I have encouraged my Executive Director not to pull out of our fleet account with Pep Boys. Mr. Ramirez should be recognized as a valuable asset to the Pep Boys Team and commended for his willingness to take ownership and pride in a job well done. want to recognize Store Manager Eddie Ramirez for his commitment to customer service and care.

I have been coming to this Pep Boys for the last 3 years and I have always been very happy with my experience. Under the recent change in management, however, I have been less than satisfied. The customer service is terrible now. The new manager Eddie is not as helpful or willing to work with customers and the new employee Rene, whom I have dealt with on multiple occasions now, is extremely rude. He speaks to customers in a very condescending way and just tries to sell you things you do not need. I no longer feel like a valued customer even though I have been loyal to this store for years. These guys have definitely lost my business!

The customer service is horrible and they take forever. I had an appointment and they still didnt even bring my car into the garage until an hour and a half later. That was after a guy took my car and drove it around for fifteen minutes. Then he put it on the lift and ten minutes later said the alignment was complete. I dont belive they did any work on it at all. While i was there a customer came in and said he had a nail in his tire. They quoted him twenty four dollars and said it would take an hour. Thats a five minute fix. I never saw them working on other cars while i was there. The customer is not the priority at this shop.

Never Pep Boys again. They did not input the mileage nor the date of the last service in their computers. They cannot tell me if their sticker indicates the date/mileage when serviced or when we need service next. We/they dont know if the oil sensor was reset to know if 15-% oils life left is correct. Terrible business.

Terrible, spent 89 for a diagnostic and wanted an oil change. They called me back saying I need to bring my car in on Monday. Used to be nice, but now its run by a bunch of idiots.
