I went to this location because its on my way home from work. I knew my 1yr would be ending soon so when I got there, I asked the woman to find out when my membership expired, she told me I had a few months left. I went and changed and forgot my lock so I went back to the car to take my bag. When I came back, it was a different woman and she asked for my card. I gave it to her and she said "youre not in the system, you cant work out." I asked her to explain because the woman prior said I had a few months left and she said "well, you dont." I asked if she could call the woman and she said "no." I asked to speak to the manager and she said "i am the manager" but she didnt have a managers shirt on. I asked her her name and she refused and she told me to step aside so she could check people in. I asked for my card back so I could call and talk to cust service about my membership and she refused to give me my card back. So I asked her for the card number at least so when I call, I have that and she said "no, use your birthday." I immediately called cust service to complain and they said they wrote a report and the manager of that facility would call me within 2-3 days. Its been 12 days and no call. Im going to call cust service back! Horrible customer service and communication skills. Never going back again. The manager doesnt even have quality customer service if I havent received a call from them.

I visit this location often..I mainly use the wet area..Im finding here lately..Men and women are in this area without proper attire/or bathing before coming in the area...just putting their feet in the water..shaving then jumping in the pool. Sneakers in sauna/steam sweat shirts all kinda gear. Pour water in steam room...people getting in jacuzzi and dunk n under the water..long story short..signs posted when leaving locker om states ..swin wear in this area..shower first...people come from other side of Gym with machines.n such...just come to that area...As is. . n sneakers...sit around on the phone..voice echoes thru the place... That is disrespectful to those of us who follow the rules.prepare .by showering and appropriate gear. Its a shame .. These are grown folks. I wish the Marketing team could mentions the rules to guests when touring... and Patrol the area..and Keep some standards... Its too loose. I know I have many other choices.. long beach..Cerritos...downey...but lakewood is in my neighborhood! ! Please can sum body help !!!

Would like to give a special Thanks to Reggie Middleton.Hes always upbeat and is down to do what ever it takes to make your Gym visit a pleasure. One time I was on the rowing machine and I noticed a screw on the floor by the treadmill so I called because I was working out and I told him what had happened. He came up totally prepared he had a paper and pen and tape so that he could properly labeled the equipment has broken. Whenever you need anything hes the go to man as far as Im concerned. One time when I was downstairs lifting weights I Saw Reggie running too the basketball courts with a concerned look on his face there was a small child in there. He immediately got the child to a safe location. Reggie is always doing something I never see him talking excessively to his coworkers . There has been some occasions when I needed to ask a question and I had to wait tell some do your coworkers would stop their conversation about nonsense to ask a question regarding the gym. I effing love the Zumba class with Marlon. I wish they hadnt changed the Monday Zumba class in the upstairs studio to the basketball court. The basketball court does not have the proper acoustics for sound. When were dancing, everybody is all over the place because the sound is bouncing off the walls. Upstairs in the studio, the sound is perfect. One drumbeat, one sound, one rhythm. Its a very powerful class. Their classes are incredible, but I will no longer be attending the 5:00 Monday basketball court Zumba class. The basketball court is overcrowded and no longer fun. But Im still going to the 12:00 Friday Zumba class because its fun as hell. I love me some Marlon. The only reason I gave 24 hour fitness a 4 star is because they need to bring back the repair men and cleaning crew that used to go around fixing and cleaning the machines. Ive literally passed five to six machines in a row in order to find one that works. Ive been with 24 hour fitness for 18 years, and overall, theyre pretty wonderful.

The gym is in need of cleaning. ..i never see machines being wiped down! The shower need repairing.The disabled shower is in Neff of a good disinfecting (the shower curtain) the dial dispenser have too much soap scum. As I workout before work I need to take a shower after working out. ..make sure to bring shower shoes. The bathrooms downstairs ate pretty clean. ..the 1 upstairs is always nasty! The pool stairs need to have the surface made slip resistant! The venting in the pool area is in adequate. .the instructor slways have to open the door to the lobby in order to be able to breathe better! Im also a member of Crunch and compared to the classes that are offered I find myself going to Crunch for a better selection of classes (from Zumba to yoga and Cardio sculpt and ABSolution ) i tend to go to 24 for Hot Hula , zumba and water aerobics. I love the pool...the sauna is sometimes filed with white bubbles, which is said to be bacteria. ..which means it need to be cleaned!

I have been a member since 1988 in Sacramento. I now attend the new Lakewood gym for over 2 years. It was very nice for about the first year. Now I am not so happy. Members are slubs. They leave their weights all over the gym and to lazy to put them back plus gym bags all over the floor. Management and staff do not enforce any of the gym rules. They dont assign staff to patrol the floor to put weights back. I have complained but no response. The locker room is not clean. The showers have white scum and black mold on the walls and around fixtures. Some showers remain broken for weeks or months. I know of other members that have left and gone to another gym franchise. I plan to move to the new gym in Cerritos when in opens in December. I am hoping the management will take more pride in there gym. It seems 24 Hour Fitness has a hard time keeping managers .

Would give this place a five star except they dont keep it clean. Theres sweat drip marks all down the sides of the machines, showers have mildew, machines are always broken for 2 months at a time, empty cleaning bottles on the floor, no paper towels to wipe machines. Very disappointing because its such a beautiful gym I give the people who work in the babysitting area 5 stars , the staff at the door and the personal trainers are nice too They just need to have a repair man there fixing things as they break and a cleaning crew to scrub down the bathrooms and machines on a daily basis. I have all kinds of photos of all the machines that have been broken for months. Glass windows threw out need to be cleaned and theres thick dust on the wall above the sit up machines Im so sick of seeing that everyday
