I signed up for a 6 month contract for personal training but was UNAWARE that the contract would auto-renew after the contract expired, and would be billed Month-to-Month. Who in their right mind wold auto-renew personal training contracts? I have never heard of such thing! I called the Corporate / Personal Training division to ask for a refund for 3 months of extra charges on my card roughly totaling $480.00, but they quickly told me it was my fault because I signed a contract and did not cancel within the 30 day time period. I have always paid on time and been in good standing with all of my gym memberships. I then asked the representative to credit the amount to my monthly membership fee and they denied the request as well. I called my credit card company to place a dispute on the charges, however, I lost the case because I signed a Legal Binding Contract. I received and unpleasant and deceitful call from In Shape Corporate Personal Training claiming that I owed 3 months of late fees for personal training totaling $150.00. I clarified to the representative that I paid my bills on time because they automatically debited my credit card. Then the representative admitted that the late fees were due to the charge-back that was debited from their account. Since In Shape won the dispute and the funds were placed back into their account late February 2015, I was given late fees for the 3 months that were under dispute. I complained to the representative by telling them that they are a bunch of THIEVES. I was then told that they would waive the late fees totaling $150.00 but I would have to pay for each $25.00 charge back for the 3 months totaling $75.00 Please be careful when signing up for a personal training contract with In shape. Update ********* A few hours after I posted this Negative Review. I received a phone call from Corporate Management and they resolved my issue immediately. They apologized for everything I had gone through and I got a full credit back into my account. The issue was handled in a very professional manner. I am very satisfied with the level of service. I highly recommend In-Shape Sports in Lodi CA.

A co-worker gave me a free pass for this gym. She goes to one of the locations in Stockton. I went to the gym for a tour. I was greeted by a friendly staff. They asked me to fill out a waiver form on their computer while I waited for a representative to show me around. The form was easy and didnt hold any surprises. Shortly after that I was greeted by Linda. We discussed my fitness goals. She then shown around the facility. It was clean and had a large variety of equipment. After the tour, i got the usual sales pitch. However, it wasnt pressured but she was interested in helping me achieve my fitness goals. She honored the seven day pass even though I didnt have it with me. I have been everyday since. I have attended to evening spin classes. The instructor has lots of energy and gets us all involved in our workout. Also I have a number of miles on the tread mill. Every time I go in the building I get a friendly greeting from a helpful staff. I am signing up today for a membership and will continue to use the facility.

I took my daughter to lap swim and was told that we could not swim because it was after 5pm. I restated that we werent "playing" in the pool such as family time but we were there with kickboard and goggles in hand to lap swim together. I asked for the manager, we have swam together before and I was told he was with a client. We went round it all again and I said fine Ill wait for the manager. Then all the sudden there was no manger on site. Hmm. Wow, Ive paid for months for my daughter. I knew she wasnt old enough for weights of course but now she cant swim. What exact service have I been paying for?? As well, I just checked the corporate site, both family swim and lap swim are separate items. It does state anyone under 14 CAN swim with an adult or guardian and must share a lane if asked when lap swimming. Such a joke!!

Wow! I train in a lot of Different gyms. I belong to several. Not that it matters, but I am a competitive Bodybuilder. I got the usual, expected sales pitch. For about 20 min. I told the sales manager I might be moving to Lodi and wanted to try gym for the night. He said I wasnt a local resident, and insisted I pay the $15 day pass fee. Not a good sales pitch. Needless to say I went to another gym in town, and was givin a 14 day pass. I will be signing up there, and carry 3 different memberships

This is my first week but I am very impressed with the cleanliness and very nice locker room and shower. I really enjoyed the pool. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Casey signed me up and he was very polite and took time to answer questions. Thanks to a welcoming gal at front desk too. Looking forward to getting totally inshape!

Blonde front desk employee is extremely rude, borderline in gym stocker. Gym needs to change their lap swim hours and ages, its ridiculous that my 13yr old son isnt allowed to practice with me during the lap swim times "because hes a child"!! Other than that, its a good looking gym, plenty of equipment, TVS, showers and its very clean.

Great gym; two lane lap pool, lots of machines, cycle and other classes if you like that. Only thing is it can get crowded during the peak times.

The place is new and wonderful. They have great equipment. Downside is the lack of room for certain areas. But overall good place.
