I brought in a sofa cover with stains to dry clean. It was returned to me in a plastic bag, so I didnt inspect the cover in the shop. Back home, I realized that the stains were still there, maybe a bit lighter than before the dry cleaning. Perhaps not every stain can be removed, but at at least the shop should be honest about it, rather than simply taking the money and pretending the job was done.

I agree with the last commentator. My husband brought in a stained shirt. He was charged full price and the shirt was returned without comment, though the stain remained. He later worked on the stain himself and removed it. Waste of money.
