Came here for the first time not too long ago. I really liked my haircut, but like others have probably mention the wait here is INSANE. I came and hour before the shop opened and still had to wait 45 minutes to hour. Thankfully theres Cro next door, where you can grab a coffee and pastry as you wait. The guys here are as hipster as hipster get but they know what they are doing. They are no frills and get right down to business. Im use to going to salons and having long conversations with the stylist but not here. Youll come in, get your hair cut, and leave. I dont think I would come any later than right when they open, however these guys give a good haircut.

Just transferred to the area and heard great things about this place. I was lucky enough to get Adam to cut my hair. Great experience. I relocate a lot and finding a great barber is always tough. Adam was professional and gave me great tips. Very friendly and was able to correct what a precious barber butchered. I highly recommend this place and staff. While I was waiting I didnt see one bad haircut. Info highly recommend Adam. Professional and talented. He will he the only barber I use whole Im in Oakland.

Probably the worst haircut experience ever had. First the crew is not personable whatsoever. After waiting a half hour, I was ready and the stylist didnt introduce himself. Very cut and dry. No personality which made everything uncomfortable. I was weary of his intentions and I was right. The dude was very smug and into himself. Terrible. I received a glorified bowl cut. Coming from Detroit and only having one cut since then, I am extremely disappointed. Never again

The Temescal Alley Barber Shop is a cool spot to get a stylish cut. The prices are a little high (although not abnormal for the Bay Area) and the wait can be long. However, it is usually worth it. The Barbers are very knowledgeable and work with you to get the look youre after. They are also great at giving you a truly individual cut to match you / your style. Plus there are plenty of great places to grab a bite to eat while you wait!

Been coming here for almost two years now and refuse to go anywhere else. These guys and gals know how to give a great haircut/beard trim. First come first serve and each barber has their own style, yet Ive never left unsatisfied despite the occasional +hour wait. Relaxed atmosphere with hilarious banter. If you appreciate a great trim you owe it to yourself to visit Temescal Alley Barber Shop.

I received a fantastic haircut from this place. I loosely described what I was looking for and I got exactly what I wanted! And on top of that I got a sipper of bourbon. I dont remember the guys name that cut my hair but he is first chair on left when you walk in. He was from Santa Cruz and just moved to Berkley. Ask for him and you wont be disappointed.

Theres an epic power struggle happening in Temescal between these guys, the pickling store and Standard and Strange mens outfitters for the most hipster of them all title. They know what theyre doing and they get the job done though. If I ever figure out how to get offered any of that whiskey they keep on display Ill upgrade my review to 5 stars

An Old School shave and a haircut vibe comes over you walking into this place. Classy barbers chopping away, talking among one another on proper barber industry etiquette. Exactly what you want from barber shop, with complimentary whiskey amenities. This is the only place I trust in the Bay Area. Matt -Happy customer since 2012.

Ive gone to Temescal Alley Barber Shop two times so far and without a doubt Ill travel miles just to get a quality haircut from these guys. Theyre on the level with you, give you a snappy looking cut, and are wicked friendly. Need a professional cut? Check these guys out. Definitely worth the price versus a $12 chop shop.

While slightly more than most hair cuts in the area, and not having reservations, Temescal Alley rarely disappoints on the final product. Many of their barbers are experienced and capable. It is all cash, so please think about getting money out for your cut and tip in advance.

Ive been there three different times and gotten three different barbers and all of them have been friendly, personable and professional. Will be going here for a cut from now on. Expect about an hour wait so show up ambit early and get signed in. As of 2016 cuts are $30

Been frequenting the place now for a year. Experienced, professional, friendly staff. Do be prepared to wait, it is first come first served. Theres plenty to check out in the alley and places to sit and read, etc. Lots of Gather employees get their hairs cut here.

My favorite barber shop. Great old fashioned barber with cool hip haircuts. They dont take reservations, just walk ins. The area is a cool place to hang out if you have to wait.
