This place is by FAR the best place to get tires in Ellsworth, although it wasnt my first choice...at first. Originally, I went across the rd to another tire store, a place where I typically buy my tires. I was quoted a price, but told they price matched, so I called my father (a prominent business owner (wood contracting, trucks, heavy machinery...that kind of thing.) Anyway, Dad gave me the name/number where he buys his tires. I called that place, which was cheaper. The store that i was currently at offered to match that price which brought it down around $40/$50. Still though more than I wanted to spend, and i was told if I took that deal then they wouldnt offer free rotations...umm ok...so took the business card and told them that I was going to check somewhere else. The man (very nice guy) told me that if i found a cheaper place to come back and hed quote it. Ok, cool, but i have 5 kids, and thats a lot of running around. I wanted the best price then. So i left. I stopped into another tire place, they quoted me about $70 more than the first. And called another place, again, much more expensive than the first. SO, that brings me to VIP, the were $110 CHEAPER for the same grade tire, than the first place, and I got a free State inspection, AND OIL CHANGE through some promotion that they were doing. The man that I spoke to, Dan, was more than helpful, and told me that he could get me in, in 5-10 minutes!!! Perfect! Dan was so awesome, and the experience was great. I am now a forever VIP customer and recommend them to EVERYONE!!! Dont waste your time going to other places, just go see Dan at VIP for no hassles and great customer service!!!!

It would be hard to find better service than I recently received on my 1988 Dodge conversion van. I visited your Ellsworth location with a minor problem, but one that I could not fix myself while travelling on vacation from Canada. My problem was relatively simple, a broken exhaust clamp. While being serviced the technician took time to check the rest of my exhaust system and discovered a second clamp was missing completely. I was notified and asked if I wished to have this repair implemented as well. Of course I accepted this service as well. I found the staff to be quite friendly & courteous. I would like to say thanks to them and will certainly avail of their service in the future. I say this because my wife and I travel to the Ellsworth area a couple of times each year. It is very comforting to us as seniors to know that there is friendly, reliable service available to complete strangers when visiting your Ellsworth service centre. I regret that I cannot recall the names of the service desk chaps or the technician, but I am confident that they will remember the old timers (man & vehicle) who visited them on June 25, 2014.

I recently went to Ellsworth VIP to have two new tires put on my 2011 car. I found the tires to be very reasonably priced and so I also had my inspection done while I was there since it was up at the end of October. My great service ended there... After having the new tires put on my car, they followed with the inspection...they came back and told me that everything passed with flying colors except for my front right wheel bearing and that it would cost me $250 to replace it and without it it wouldnt pass inspection. I passed on their suggestion and they sliced my sticker. Feeling unsure about the part I needed for my car, I followed up with another local mechanic who was baffled as to why I was even at the garage! They said that there was nothing wrong with my car what-so-ever! They were honest and said that my car did not need the $250 part, and that it passed inspection just fine! So, VIP, what was the reason for telling me I needed a $250 part for my car, but another garage with 4 mechanics working there all agreed that my car was in great working order and there was no reason for the car to fail its inspection.

VIP auto went above and beyond for my husband and I. We are truly grateful for their help. We had blown a tire earlier that morning and had a full size spare. We wanted to just change the rims out since the spare was rusted. We went to VIP about an hour before they closed too. Everyone was very friendly and got our vehicle in right away only to discover that the full size was a 17" and our remaining rim and tires were 16". We were heartbroken as we knew this would mean 4 brand new tires which wasnt in the budget. The manager Jeff went right away to researching every possible way to help us and they somehow managed to find tires that worked and were in stock. Not to mention now needed to change out 4 tires very close to closing. No one seemed irritated by us taking so much time and they even chatted and visited with us while they fixed up our vehicle. We are going out of way now to go to Jeff and VIP for all our vehicles needs. We are truly thankful that our of a nightmare of a day turned out a little better with their help.

To whom it may concern, Being a female and having experienced being talked down to by the guy behind the counter, hasnt make me feel very warm about going to the garage for any repairs done on any of my vehicles. Until my son told me to try VIP in Ellsworth I was dragging my feet and never looked forward going . He told me that the guys are great and work with the customer. So I held my breath and gave them a try and he was most certainly right. I am now a fan and have told many women on how the guys treat each customer with respect and how they bend over backwards to let you know what may be a better alternative for you and your vehicle. I have been more then please with the VIP in Ellsworth. Never once have I felt rushed or been spoken down to (a huge plus being a female). And never once have I felt pressured by them. I have been a regular customer for some time now- they are the best. I give them 5 Stars. Plus their hours works great for me.

Today I purchased four new snow tires at VIP in Ellsworth. The staff was very knowledgeable and empathetic as paying for four brand new snow tires is anything but inexpensive. The staff reassured me that it would be worth every penny and provided me with information that made me feel better about making the purchase. Jordan was the one who helped me and even provided me with a 5% discount and informed me of a special that they had for tire change over. As hesitant as I was about spending the money for new snow tires, the staff at VIP made my experience as best as it could be. I only had to wait about an hour for my tires to be changed over, which I thought for it being black Friday, was more than reasonable. I will definitely be coming back to VIP for my tire needs! Thank you!!

This place has a problem. We purchased a set of tires for a Subaru Outback which regularly lose pressure - they have to be inflated as frequently as once a week. When my wife took her car (the Subaru) to have the tires rotated she was told she needed to have the wheel nuts tightened after 25 miles and was made to sign a "waiver" of which she was not given a copy. After wasting a cold night finding the Subarus wheel nut wrench and attempting to tighten all of the nuts, I found that they couldnt be moved in either direction. Is this place trying to use its customers for quality control? Do they not realize that a business cannot waive liability for negligence? Totally annoyed!!!! This rating system does not allow me to post negative stars!
