Earlier this year I had these guys patch a leak in one of my tires. Six months later the same tire went flat so I brought it back. They said if the issue with the tire was in the same spot or due to their error in patching it the first time then they wouldnt charge me. When I went to pick it up they told me they had found a nail. It was highly unlikely the nail had been in there before and that they missed it, but because there was a slight chance that it had been and they had made the mistake they didnt feel right charging me. My first impressions are that they are super honest, and neighborly. I also felt well respected as a woman who happens to not know a whole lot about how cars work, they were very polite in explaining things to me and I did not feel looked down on or taken advantage of for my femininity and lack of knowledge. I recommend them.

I brought my car in because I had a nail in my driver side rear tire and I needed them to patch it up. After one hour they brought my car out of their garage, and charged me for a TPMS rebuild on my passenger side rear. Turns out they had driven my car out of the garage with 3psi in the driver side rear and fixed a non broken TPMS on my passenger side rear. This was obvious upon visual inspection. After they preformed a patch on the proper tire, I checked my tire pressure to find they had filled both rear tires to different levels and both were well below the recommended psi. The justification for the poor service given was an employe had just returned to vacation and was still getting into the groove. Steer clear of this shop.

We took our car in to get 4 new tires. On the way home it was apparent that they had not properly attached one of the wheel weights we had to take it back. 2 months after having all 4 tires replaced we realized on of the tires was slack so we took it in to get it patched. They did not properly do the patch and we had to take it back in again. On top of this they charged an exorbitant price for an oil change, and I think they screwed up the alignment when they put the four tires on. If it werent for the fact that our tires were warrantied I would never take our car back there. Go somewhere else. 88/hour is a lot to pay for this kind of incompetence.

In from out of town on a Saturday, every other service place was too busy to get me in for a problem with the drivers side seat belt. Being that I could not use the seatbelt at all, I felt like this was a bit of an emergency. Rick and the guys got me in immediately and were able to fix the problem in 5 minutes. Being that it ended up being such an easy fix, they didnt charge me a thing! These guys are consummate professionals and go above and beyond what is expected from an auto service center, all the while knowing that they would likely never see me again. I could not recommend them more highly. Keep up the great work!

DO NOT GO TO PORTLAND SULLIVAN TIRES!!! Less than 1 month ago I got inspected at the Portland Sullivan tire and they passed my inspection without fixing OR notifying me that my brake pads are completely worn down. They are metal to metal and they didnt even say ANYTHING to me. This is a major safety hazard. I am appalled by the service and will NEVER go to Sullivan Tires again. I will also tell anyone who will listen to not go there!

We were on vacation for the weekend and lost our brakes completely - yikes! We were lucky (VERY lucky) to be able to coast right into this Sullivan tire and not only did they fix our brakes right away, they gave us a ride downtown and gave my family maps and a tour to help us enjoy the city while they worked on our car. They turned a bad experience into a fantastic weekend - thank you Sullivan Tire!

The other day my windshield wipers stopped working, and through my own diagnostics I figured out that the motor was intact, but that the blades were loose and needed to be bolted back in. I brought my car in, and they fixed them for me free of charge! A free auto repair... unheard of in my experience. I am definitely going back if I ever need anything else done.

To women living in the Portland area who have had bad experiences dealing with car repair: the people at Sullivan Tire on St. John Street were approachable and informative. No patronizing attitudes here. The work I had done on my car was explained to me (in advance) as were my options and prices. Will never service my car anywhere else!

Im surprised to see unhappy customers. I used Sullivans for 5 years when I lived in Portland (up through 2010). They were always really helpful, friendly, professional, on time. One of the few places Ive had my car serviced where I felt that every quote was honest and straightforward.

Certainly a busy location but they still provide prompt service. If you know you have some service contact them sooner rather than later to get a time that works for you. They do schedule accurate appointments so for regular service you dont have to leave your vehicle all day.

Ok place for tires and maybe oil changes, but stay away for repairs because they are not trustworthy or knowledgeable. I was given an $800+ quote and upon getting a second opinion, I found out that the actual needed repairs would cost me under $300.

Place is a fraud, charged us $60 dollars for a simple oil change. Must be the re used oil they dumped in my car. Will never bring my business here again.
