I had a good experience about 6 years ago using Talbott to install a new 200 amp service, new breaker box, and associated wiring in my 99 year old bungalow. Everything was done correctly, passed inspection with no problems, on time and consistent with the estimate. The work was done with sensitivity to the historic character of the home, and the workers cleaned up afterwards. One star off for less than perfect communication, which mainly was about not communicating that they planned to install a new service box that was not compatible with my existing Square D breakers, the ones that show a red flag when the breaker is blown. Instead, they installed a box of a different brand, and inferior breakers which do not show any indication of which breaker has been tripped. Very inconvenient to determine which breaker needs to be reset. So minus 1 star for not explaining that up front, and if it was a matter of significantly differing costs, letting me know and giving me an option to stay with the type of breakers I had, or, for a lower cost (perhaps), go with the breakers they gave me.

More than an electrician. Kirk and his technicians are artists. Yes, theres art to electrifying your home when youre goal is to retain charm with contemporary safety and convenience. Fixtures captured our desire to retain charm of 70+ years old home. Yet, in kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, we still have charm with the appropriate installation of lines and outlets for todays appliances. Talb ott rewired our home. And, it dealt with bureaucracy of Pasadena licensing and inspection. Cost? Less than we expected and estimates were never exceeded. By the way, Talbott technicians cleanup when theyre done.

Schedued an appointment to rewire a light switch. No one showed up, no one called. I called after they missed the appointment. Mr. Talbott called me later and said they got busy with other projects, and couldnt make the appointment. He did not explain why they couldnt call and tell me that so we didnt wait all day for them. He promised to have someone out 8AM three days later, which I declined. This was a test to see who we are going to invite to bid on rewiring the whole house, and unfortunately Talbott Electric didnt meet muster.

I was interested to see all the sudden "good" reviews of Talbott. Maybe they have changed their tune since we used them, or maybe they got a few select clients to write reviews, but my experience a year ago was the same as the the first few reviews. Electrician comes out for less than two hours and bills for four. Then rather than simply acknowledge a mistake, if it was one, it was a negotiation to something like three hours. Really surprised to see them in business still.

Paul completed my lighting installation with professionalism and fine craftsmanship. From start to finish, I received good advice and was able to choose the right fixture for my home without the pressure of some other venues. The entire process went smoothly and I look forward to my next project with Talbott.
