"What a sad little system this gym has for its new members. If lying to people and putting them down to try to make a sale is all theyve got, then I hope they go down in flames." When my husband and I were first starting to look at gyms in the area, the staff here seemed alright. We moved here a couple months ago and now that I am in my second trimester of pregnancy I wanted to get back into my gym routine that I had before we moved (or at least some version of it). The membership boy was nice, gave a lot of incorrect information (like that the hot tub was kept at 250 degrees) but he was really friendly and seemed nervous so we just let it go. When he told us that we had to get a membership that included all of the In-Shape gyms I decided that I wanted to check out the other locations and some other gyms in the area before making my decision. He then said that maybe he could do just this gym and maybe it was still in the system...and basically that he was lying. Which is fine, maybe his boss told him to do that. So, I told him that we still wanted to see the other locations regardless and started heading out, thats when another membership person chased us down yelling asking why we hadnt gotten the membership and asking how much the original guy had quoted us. We re-explained that we just wanted to see the other location and that we would be back if we wanted the membership to all of the gyms. I wont go into the awkward interaction with the membership person at the Antioch location, who told us that we could lie to corporate to get a discount or something...which is actually rather insulting and beside the point because price wasnt our issue, we just wanted to see the facility. After returning to the Pittsburg location, Isaiah (the membership guy) got us signed up and asked if we wanted to do the "Fit-Start". I told him that since Im pregnant I just wanted to stick to my midwife and my prenatal yoga instructors suggestions/instructions for exercise. He said that Mike (the trainer) would have some cool new ideas and stuff for me to do now that I am pregnant and can maybe show me some new moves that I can use. So I agreed to go to an appointment the next day. Isaiah was all smiles and said, "Great, see you tomorrow!" as we left. The next day Isaiah awkwardly acted like he didnt know who I was when I got there, the girl at the front desk that he was busy flirting with was very nice to me though and told me that Mike would be up soon. I wont go into ALL of the aggravating details of this interaction, but Mike was vapid, rude, and completely detached from reality. I told him that I was pregnant right form the start of our meeting, and then I discovered that he didnt know that there were any restrictions or differences for working out when someones pregnant. Anytime I answered one of his questions he looked above me, to the side of me, but never really in my eyes, which maybe explains why he never seemed to hear what I was saying. He gave me lots of suggestions for losing weight, which I told him repeatedly that I didnt need since I was at a very healthy weight, even if I wasnt pregnant and that Im actually looking to gain weight going forward...you know...because Im growing another human inside of me! Aside from the aggravating "conversation" with this boy, the four exercises he had me do were nothing new (as promised), one of them I probably shouldnt have done but Im pretty early in my second trimester so Im sure its fine. And then at the end of him trying to sell me different packages and continuing to tell me that I need to lose weight, and fat and that I need to have fitness goals involving losing weight and fat...he reveals that he isnt a trainer. Hes just the sales guy. What a sad little system this gym has for its new members. If lying to people and putting them down to try to make a sale is all theyve got, then I hope they go down in flames.

I really like the womens section because I prefer not to workout around large crowds of men. It does need replacement free weights as they only have one 12.5 lb dumbell and it has been this way for 4 months since Ive joined. I wish there were paper towels or Kleenex more available thru the gym since getting warm sometimes means a runny nose, difficulty breathing unless you stop and go downstairs to get tissue. Staff is mostly friendly. Its always very clean. Twice they ran out of towels. The first time the gentleman said it would be 30min. Second time a young lady said she just started a load and it would be a while. I told her that was a major inconvenience for me as I sweat profusely and it wasnt till then that she agreed to go get towels but not without an eye roll. At least she brought them. This was the same gal who made me wait to check in while she finishes eating In & Out behind the counter while watching TV. All & All it is satisfactory.

Pros: New stuff Kids center (me no kids) Showers have doors XLarger cardio room Everything works Cons: Warm water fountains Small weight room Barley, any free weights 60% ok greetings 2 bathroom stalls (remain cleaned) Conclusion: With its preoccupied staff giving u ok greeting half the time its enviorment feels fresh. Only thing that lacks more is its free weights room, its lack of space and plates as if someone took some plates home makes u feel sometimes cramp n lost for the the correct weight set. Anf idk if fountain water should be included but most taste like shxx

Went in ready and determined to enroll and start a membership for myself and my husband. Waited for over 25 minutes when the person at the front had said 10 or 15. After it had been more than a half hour we decided to leave. The attendant in the front saw us leaving and not once did he apologize or ask why we were stepping out. Nor did he ever try to keep us updated as to how much longer it would be. What a shame his careless attitude and lack of customer service cost the gym two memberships.

I like the fact the showers & changing rooms are clean. I like the womens private workout area upstairs. No longer a member due to not disclosing paticular terms of agreement on contract charges that were not brought to my attention (added on with out my consent) but that was a while ago so hopefully that person is gone now.

the kids club can do a lot better because their are only two that are good but the rest are very mean and you should fire the others, and one more thing you should let the kids use phones cause they are not fair they use their phones and i think its not fair. you should give angie an other day cause she is good.

Zumba classes wasnt that great like it was 3 years ago Ive been a member in this gym for a long time, customer service is great! The gym is wonderful and clean. I give 5 stars to the hula classes . But Zumba classes suck! I pay $54 to have great Zumba classes they need a lot of improvement.
