My family and I are new members at this facility. Prior to joining here, I am an active member at 24 Hour Fitness Pleasanton and San Ramon. Both 24 Hour Fitness facilities offer similar nice amenities most important for me is a lap pool. It is kept generally clean and the clientele and staff are also generally nice. With that said, I cannot make a comparison with Club Sport Pleasanton. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but what CSP offers is beyond gym access. First of all, if you have kids, then CSP is a better place. They have activities centered towards children and a pool facility that is kid friendly. A Family membership provides you a three-hour time for kids to stay at the Kids area. There are two separate areas for younger kids and for the bigger kids. The place is huge but kept very clean! Even the mens locker room. The equipment seems to be good and I love the open spaces they have for stretching, etc. The wall climbing area inside is a cool feature. The pools, tennis courts, (lots of it), and basketball courts are nice features as well. Did I mention that the pool is kept at a nice temperature all year round? On top of the sports equipment, they have bar areas to relax or even do some work. Yesterday (July 13th) my wife mentioned that while she was there with our kids, she saw a DJ setting up outdoor and she found out that they have dancing later that evening. So, really, CSP is not just a gym , it is a health and entertainment facility. It offers a lifestyle not just a place where you go in and out. I have not been there a lot yet, so I cannot comment about the staff. So far, I have not experienced any rude ones as some commented here. All in all, we love this place and will continue to come here. The price is actually just right for what they offer and for how well they maintain the areas. Tennis lessons, swimming lessons, and other classes comes with additional fees but really, the price is not much different and perhaps may be better even when you try to sign-up at lessons offered by the Community parks and recreation centers around. At this point, I highly recommend to at least give this place a try. You will not regret it.

Worst gym experience ever. I am a long time member and one of the gym floor coordinators (older blonde lady) came up to me and asked to see my identification and means of how I checked into the gym today - I showed her the app / bar code and told her my id is in the car with my purse - would be more than happy to answer any security questions to proceed with my workout. She rudely told me to leave and bring back my id so she can confirm its actually me. This had never happened in club sport all my years going here. I felt as if she was racial profiling me and was trying to find a reason to remove me from the premises. I had confined my identification and she was still in disbelief. I felt she was being very unprofessional, slightly racist and a bad representative of club sport. I have been a member for years at club sport and I would have never imagined this to occur - especially since I come to the gym regularly. I thought highly of club sport until this occurred. Will not be returning and definitely will be sharing my story with others (members and my network).

This facility is excellent, with a plentiful amount of cardio and weight training equipment, classes to choose from, as well as tennis, racquetball, and swimming pools. My daughter loves the daycare, we used to belong to 24hr fitness and I did not feel safe leaving her at their care facility even for an hour, and here I feel so much more at ease. This was a huge point for me, as well as the kiddie pool and how family friendly the gym is, along with the amenities like sauna and jacuzzi. There are restricitons, but I think they are very reasonable, and they offer camps in the summer time for the older kids, as well as swim teams. They have free personal training to help the novice get started with a fitness routine (which I am) and I have never felt crowded. I find this club to be one of the best, very motivating, and definately worth my 30-minute commute and the moderately priced fee of $170/mo (only $25 fee to join). I highly recommend ClubSport, a friend also told me Fremont is a great facility also, and I believe there is one opening in San Ramon also.

We have been members since 1998 and 4 years ago added our children. Of course when they want the New Money, they dont tell you about all the limitations for children. My daughter, age 10, is trying to find a way to exercise and lose some weight. We have been using the cardio room and limited weight exercises for the past year. All of a sudden this morning, 5:30 am (not many people in the gym), we are suddenly told that she can NOT use the cardio room or weight room until she is 12!! We were NEVER told about the age restriction before we paid out the money to them. She was not running around like wild children, she was simply working out. Not bothering anyone. So for a family of 5, we will be changing our gym membership immediately. Even after all these years!! THIS IS NOT A GYM FOR FAMILIES!!!!

For the cost of this gym, you would expect a pretty classy place, but the quality has gone down alot. The equipment and programs are adequate (again, for the cost, they should be excellent). The gym is crowded. The clientele has shifted to a lot of young high school level people. This is fine if that is what you are looking for. For me, an expensive gym has a high class clientele, and this has been lost here. It is turning into a kind of body builder type place. If that is what you want, save your money and go to 24 hour. I myself do not want to work out with the bodybuilders and high school kids.

Club Sport is an excellent health club. Our personal trainer was great. Wish there were more places like Club Sport in other locations. Good gyms are hard to fine that have great customer service with lots of parking. This gym offers more than my husband and I would use, the equipment is up-to-date and never busy that a person has to wait for a machine. Some of the clients are rude, but what can a person say about another persons inability to be nice.

scumbag place, they hate kids so much, they tell kids to get out of the spa for no reason. They absolutely hate kids, they say its a family place to lure you in but once your kids get a membership the employees will treat them like dirt unless there parents are around. this place is nice but the workers absolutely suck and should go die. never going back here again

Great classes and services are included with the membership, including childcare allowances. Awesome selection of weight and cardio machines, multiple large studios for assorted classes, lots of indoor tennis, and well-heated pools and spa outdoors. Locker rooms are clean and modern. Its the staff that really make the difference, though.
