DONT JOIN THIS CLUB! It is VERY overpriced and crowded. You have to fight for a tiny spot to stretch or do any floor/ball work. Outdated and missing equipment. The Redondo club is very outdated and has no flow whatsoever. I am paying $90/mo but most classes I want are EXTRA. When I finally went to cancel my membership they hijacked me for another 60 days EVEN though I am on a "month to month" agreement. They didnt try to keep me as a member or ask what improvements could be made for a better experience all they care about is getting that extra 60 days. If they cared about member concerns they wouldnt be bleeding members left and right to neighboring equinox. Additionally, a friend of mine has his locker broken into several months ago. Several other lockers were pried open and contents removed. My friend had about $2,000 worth of goods stolen. When he told the management they tried to keep it quiet and my friend called the police. Notice I said HE called not THEM. They wanted to keep it quiet. When I asked about the theft the following day (I was there when it happened) they all acted like they didnt know anything about it. Recently, I suspected that my locker too had been pried open. Nothing was taken since I didnt have much in there. I asked them to come look at it. I waited for a manager to come to the locker room but when no one showed up after about 15 minutes, I finally left. I found out when I cancelled that no incident report was filed and nobody ever looked at the locker. Spectrum was once a really nice club with attentive employees but things have REALLY gone downhill!

So I just made the switch from 24 Hour Fitness to Spectrum. Its a massive change! The first change youll notice is the price! Its a LOT more expensive, but I was ready for a change so it was worth it for me. The facility itself is OK, but the location is beautiful. The cardio room is very bright and open and it looks out over the Redondo harbor. The roof even opens! Accordingly, the room has lots of big windows so you can take in the view of the harbor. You can see PV to the south and Malibu to the north. There are also plenty of TVs to watch. The best part is that they have a good number of machines to support the membership base! They could use a couple more upright bikes, but otherwise Spectrum is pretty well equipped. The free weight room is a little lacking, but I dont spend too much time there so thats OK. Funniest part is the guy who counts out loud while doing exercises with very small weights! LOL Overall the feel and the vibe are much better than other health clubs in the area. Edit Remove

Tons of small private rooms makes this place feel large and explorable while trying new things. Gorgeous 2nd story glass rooms overlooking the Redondo boat harbor make morning noon or afternoons totally picturesque. Towels are everywhere and the place is meticulously maintained. Wooden lockers feel like a country club. The gym is rarely full and Ive never seen any hard core ROIDd out duders. Plenty of cute gurls of all ages :) My favorite gym in SoCal under 100 bux. I totally forgot the outdoor turf field its got everything from football training gear, cross gear, a basketball hoop, plus way more. The level 3 trainer Nick got me dialed in and now Im a regular! Btw most of the old bad reviews are old.. This place rocks now :)

Nice facilities right next to the harbor. Beautiful pool and sunbathing deck. The weight room was updated, nice equipment. The Pilates studio is hidden downstairs in a well equipped room. The room was pleasant, but would be much better if it were upstairs where it is sunny and bright, near the ocean. I took a class with Lorry, who was fantastic! It was a wonderful, comprehensive and fun workout. Lorry was very knowledgeable about Pilates ( and I have been with many instructors, some good, others not so) and really addressed my needs and the needs of the class. I really like this club and highly recommend it!

I paid $1000.00 on a "deal" and went once and never went back. the bathrooms are nasty and the other review about MOLD is true. its disgusting AND very much geared towards moms and children running around than to their equipment, which is totally outdated and just plain bad. also, each room is really small, like it used to be someones office or something. very lame. sorry spectrum. the one in Manhattan of course is reallly nice. :(

Equipment is nice, multiple different areas to work out, my favorite being the downstairs room (Its usually nice and quiet off of busy days). They also have a nice little boxing studio, and every room Ive seen has some sort of speaker system that you can control yourself. Been going here for almost a year and Its improved a bit since then and I hear Bay Club is prepped to do some overhauls.

This place is great! I purchased a teenager membership for my 17 year old daughter and she loves it! She stays in great shape and associates with nice classy people there, unlike the lower class places that cost $25-$30 a month and enroll all types of misfits.

Over promises and under-delivers. Management is hyping the place as "a country club like atmosphere". Its a gym... Nice staff and great views. Friendly laid back environment.
