Originally I would rate this place zero stars but I cant anyway but the owner seemed chill and was willing to try to fix the problem so Ill give 2, but anyway one day i called in advance to ask about getting my hair cut. I specifically said is their someone there that can do fades or cut black hair. Sounds wrong but lets be honest. Some really dont. Anyway they say yea all of our barbers are skilled. So I go in and the wait wasnt long. Actually everything was ok.....Other than the fact that they lied over the phone and then I walked out of there with patches and of course I had to go to work like that for two weeks before It grew back I had cuts all around my line up a few are understandable but I called and told them that their barber didnt need to cut black hair period and that I would have waited. I was there one time before when a guy named nick was working there and he was one of the best cuts I ever got, compliments all that week but hes not there anymore. But ironically I never originally intended to post this but I googled black barbershops downtown and this one popped up as number 3.... definitely not. But like I said the owner was willing to get me a free haircut but I wasnt going back there. Not even for free thats how bad dude messed me up. It just pissed me off that you would do all that. But lesson learned I guess.

Ive gone twice now, to two different barbers, hoping maybe the first time was just a fluke. But no. Two times now I have not gotten the cut I asked for. I even showed pictures of my hair, both times! Every guy knows that finding a new barber is the worst part of moving to a different location. My old barber of several years knew so much about my hair type, the style I wore, and how to cut it. It seems like people here either arent listening or arent understanding what Im asking for, and its not much. What I ask them to leave, they cut off. What I ask them to cut, they dont cut evenly. IMO any place that cuts hair in 25 min blocks isnt going to spend the time to make you look your best. If youre not particular about your hair and you just want a quick cut on par with say Supercuts, knock yourself out (youll be paying more than Supercuts though at $20) I wont be going back here.

Ive been coming here almost once a month for the last year and a half. Jason(owner) works towards perfection. The atmosphere welcomes any one. Like any true barber shop the employees try to engage in great conversation with any one that walks through the door. Jason encourages any questions as he is passionate to inform his customers of all the services he offers that would benefit you. If their is a wait dont worry about it because the shop talk, magazines, chess, pinball machine, and great blues music will make the time fly. Thirsty? Grab a drink, he usually keeps the mini fridge full with refreshments like beer or water Conveniently located in a beautiful spot in midtown its easy to get to. Street parking is available and its usually not to hard to get a spot. Simply the best barber shop i have been to in 20 years. I would travel miles just to get my hair cut here.

i was sent there by the hotel concierge. When I walked in, they asked if I had an appointment or if I was a walk-in. I said walk in, and I was asked to put my name on a board. Well, an hour and a half later and after the four barbers had served lots of people who came in after me (but had appointments apparently) I left. One of the barbers came out after me and said "why are you leaving" I told him that I had known that you needed an appointment to get a served when I walked in, I would have made one. Thanks for wasting an hour and a half of my day. Cant tell you if they give good hair cuts, they were too self centered to bother cutting mine. WEAK.

At first glance, this place looks like it might be full of stuck-up hipsters but we had a great experience when my boyfriend got a haircut and beard trim here! Jesus was the barbers name and he was very friendly and helpful. Words cannot express, how welcomed he made us feel. My boyfriend said he got the best haircut of his life and I have to agree! There arent a lot of places that cater to the needs of men with facial hair anymore and this place does that and much more. I highly recommend this place to any man who has hair. Be sure to call ahead and make an appointment because they dont do walk-ins... (dont worry, its worth it)

I made an appointment, and got in pretty quick. Cody Cut my hair, and I am super satisfied with the way it turned out. 5 Stars all the way. They do take a while to do the a actual cut, but Im ok with that, because I know that he was being careful. That being said, it is a good idea to make an appointment, even though they DO take walk ins. This is not a dime a dozen chop shop; they really know what theyre doing. As far as the shop itself, it was very clean. They had good music playing, and a pool table. For those who like it they also have beer.

Made an appointment (highly recommended! Its super easy) with Anthony, or known in the shop as Shep. Excellent cut! He knew what would look good and made suggestions along the way. The neckline shave was unexpected but much appreciated. Price is what I would expect for a cut of this quality. Only issue is parking! But that really isnt a big one. There are meters and on the side street its 2 hour parking, so no need to pay. Go check them out. I plan on being a regular here.

Not sure if they understand the concept of booking an appointment for a scheduled time, Got their 10 minutes early as thats just the way I am, That being said, Waited like 20 minutes past my scheduled cut time, You have to book with a credit card to ensure you arrive on time or you agree they charge you if your late or a no show, Funny though if they can not cut your hair on time at the scheduled time no apology or discount, The customer always looses.

I scheduled a last-minute appointment with John during a weekend trip to Sacramento and was pleasantly surprised by the barbershop and Johns talent and attention to detail. Following a really bad haircut a few weeks earlier, I wasnt optimistic that it could be corrected within such a short timeframe. However, John worked his magic and hooked me up with a perfect fade--nice and tapered, just the way I like it. I highly recommend John and Barber Blues.

I have been coming to this barber shop for the past few years and I always have had a good experience. Very nice facilities and knowledgeable staff. Even though I have sinced moved away from Sacramento, if I am ever in the area I try to make an effort to visit this location because it is that good! Bring a photo of what you want to look like and they will work with you to provide a great haircut.
