I found this place thanks to my fellow Yelppers, thanks guys! Ill just start by saying Jakes a PIMP!!(and will know I mean that in the best possible sense) I FLove my haircut!!! I have always had a hate-hate relationship with my hair, its thin cowlicky and it just lays there. I had had it long and pulled into a ponytail for, well, since my last crappy haircut... Anyway I get a bug up my butt to go full on Tank Girl. Tank Girl when she first gets and tricks out her tank, red tips and all. I call here cause it looks like a good place for funky. The girl on the phone says shes going to find me the perfect stylist. Few minutes on hold and she tells me Jakes gonna do it. I show up, almost chickened out at 5:30 that morning, and Jake welcomes me, introduces me to his other client and her friend(who are both pimps too :) sits me in the chair and looks at my pictures and says" Ready?" Grabs my ponytail and whack! Into the bag it goes (for Locks of Love) and all my panicky hyperventilating I had been doing since I woke in a panic at 5 am just STOPS. He is supremely confident, and just knows what hes doing. He tells me he isnt going to use the clippers cause it makes your hair grow out funny, and buzzes the back of my head with shears. Howcoolisthat?! After what seems like days under the bleach, at which I turn into a 3-year-old who can no longer be still, he blessedly showers my head with what feels to me like Holy Water, towels me and starts doing the voodoo magic. He dyes the tips of my newly platinum hair fire engine red and cuts. I keep insisting I want the top shaved, he keeps ignoring me, and does his thing. Two and a half hours later, we look in the mirror and DAYAM I look GOOD! Hahaha, Dude in the chair next to me asks Jake, can you do that to mine? The top of my head is NOT shaved, cause that would have made me look douchey, but its perfect spikey and I have these wisps down the sides of my face. Like I said, Jake is a PIMP! ....and my stylist for life. I am, incidentally a 46 year old suburban housewife. Pa Pa Pa POW! P.S Jake, I didnt think you were gonna burn my head with the flat iron...my scalp was just already at 3 alarms. ;)

Scheduled a haircut for my daughter three weeks ago who is two with thick curly hair which I made clear to the receptionist when I made the appointment. I wanted to make sure we got matched up with the right stylist who is great with texturizing and working with children. When arrived for our appointment early we stood around at the front desk for about 10 minutes before we were greeted by a stylist who said they would get the receptionist for us (who was completely rude). We were matched up with Ray Ann who clearly had never cut a kids hair (or curly hair for that matter) before because she first suggested my 2 year old to stand there while she got her hair cut. Ray Ann then suggested that she grab a sofa pillow from the patio to sit on (on top of salon chair), then I suggested she sat on my lap. During our consultation I asked Ray Ann to trim and texturize my daughters hair so I can grow it longer making her aware of past stylists cutting too much off the neck area. Ray Ann layered my daughters hair leaving the front near her eyes 8" long and cutting the neck area to about 1/2"!! I was clearly upset with the haircut, maybe Ryan Ann couldnt tell b/c she used sooo much of that curl enhancing product that it left my daughters hair wet when we left. I thought the cut might look better if I slept on it, but it wasnt. I called Spanish Fly first thing in the morning and spoke to the morning receptionist Katie who sounded concerned enough to call Shannon the salon owner. We agreed to give Ray Ann one more chance. Needless to say I wasted my time. Ray Ann and her BFF (Cory) attacked me once we got there and tried to convince me that my daughters Elvis like hair cut with uneven layers was perfect. I never got a follow up call so I will just continue to assume that customer satisfaction is not a high priority at that salon. How it got Best of Sac from SNR, I dont know! They serve booze there so maybe they gave away free cuts and boozed up the editors. Maybe we just spoke to the two worst stylist. Ray Ann did say she was new.... but why set up a curly haired client up with a new stylist???

The woman who "dyed" my hair dropped the bowl half way through the process. I do have long, thick hair, but I felt like she was doing what she wanted to do to my hair, not what I wanted. I asked her to cut off a few inches to get rid of the dead ends and make my hair lighter, she said "oh we dont need to cut off that much." I had dyed my hair auburn, then it faded into a brassy orange-ish color. I asked to go darker, and because the felt I had enough dye in my hair by the time she dropped the bowl (but still tried charged me like she used it all), I ended up leaving that day with still having orange hair, and a few split ends left over from what I wanted cut off. I recommend going to Luxe. Its down the street, and I have left twice with the hair I wanted at a cheaper price.

I found this salon on google and made an appointment, then promptly looked at all of the reviews for here. I got a pit in my stomach reading some of them but went into my appointment with a brave face. I LOVE MY HAIR!!!! And I absolutely loooove Elizabeth, she was very sweet and enthusiastic and really took her time to do a great job. Also the outside atrium is so beautiful and relaxing, it was great sitting out there with my boyfriend while my hair was setting. I came in not really knowing what I wanted and she did a great job communicating with me about what she wanted to do, Ill be coming back for sure and my friend has an appointment for tomorrow with her :)

I have always been apprehensive when searching for a hair salon. This salon was truly a good experience. The staff is very down to earth and you feel welcomed. Their service is great, and my stylist went far and beyond from what I expected. Great Place... Ask for Elizabeth!

This was a great place - I never have high expectations when visiting a new salon, but this was pleasant surprise. Tiffany, my stylist, was just lovely and did a great job. Its a cool venue and pretty reasonably priced - If I stay in town Ill be back again!
