As a first time customer, based on the great reviews, I phoned this repair shop to make an appointment for an 80k inspection of my Mazda3. Specifically I asked them to diagnose the vibration and misfiring of my engine in recent months (thinking it might be the spark plugs). They told me to drop it off at 8:30am and that it would take 3-4 hours to service. So I did. I left my car with them for inspection. Well, the mechanic never called me to update me on the progress. Nor did they call to tell me that my car was ready. After 5 hours of waiting to hear and calling them several times with no answer, I went to the shop to figure out what was going on. They told me everything was fine, that they only changed my oil, and that my car was ready. Why didnt they call me? And had they checked the ignition and spark plugs? They said no. They said it was "not recommended" at 80k. Hey guys. Check out the maintenance schedule for the Mazda3 at 80k. There is a whole host of things to inspect. Not least the spark plugs, which it says to replace every 75,000 miles. They did not address a single thing on the schedule. At least they did not make me pay for the oil change, if they even changed it. This shop did not earn my trust. I will not be returning.

This is the best mechanic Ive ever been to. This family owned shop genuinely cares about the customer. From the moment you are on the lot they make you feel welcome. At other mechanics I feel like Im being taken advantage of, but these guys were completely transparent with every decision and part they worked on. I had to get spark plugs replaced for my 2004 Chevy Impala. They showed me exactly how much the parts cost and when possible they allowed me select from a variety of parts. They told me the pros and cons of each brand of part so I could make an educated decision. I recently purchased a used 2014 Ford Fusion. Prior to buying it I brought it in for these guys to inspect. They have an excellent mechanic named Eric that knows American cars inside and out. He carefully explained every area he was inspecting and why he was inspecting it. He showed me what to look out for as the car ages. I felt confident going through with the purchase after the inspection. I will happily be bringing my car back to these guys, and will recommend them to anyone that is looking for a quality mechanic who cares about you, your car, and your budget.

Kevin and I met years ago when he first got started. That was when he was reasonable and actually worked on the cars. He built a 300 plus hp Jetta for me. Unfortunately the car never ran right. Eventually he said it had a bad vacuum leak and said hed buy it for 750. Truth is the car just wouldnt pass smog. The car is still in his shop! Years later. It now runs great and is extremely fast so I hear. I dumped 6 to 7 k into that car. You do the math. Next I bought a 2002 530 from Kevin. He said it had no problems. A couple weeks later I realized it was going through tons of oil. He said the oil pan gasket had to be changed. He said the subframe had to be dropped. 2300 or 2800 I dont remember. Turns out you can do this job in 4 hours if u are a decent mechanic not concerned with profit over customers.a gentleman in his 60who works on Bmws his whole life let me know this . I the. Did my own research. They also overcharge onevrythig else. A brake job from there will cost up $400 more. Go to Schulba down the street. He is the man and has fixed all of San Carlos autos mistakes for me

These guys are great. I was sitting around trying to figure out what to do about a leaky fuel pump. I called all around to different locations and Kenneth made it clear that they could fit me in immediately for inspection. Took my car in, they offered me a ride home (which I declined) and they started doing the inspection immediately. After a bit of tinkering they explained the issue to me and told me theyd need more time to review the issue. As luck would have it, the problem was covered under a GM recall, so I ended up taking it to the GM service center our in Fremont. However, I wouldve loved to have had these guys take care of it otherwise. AJ, Kenneth, and the whole crew seems open, honest, and like pretty fast workers.

Top notch in every sense. I recently drove across country and was in need of an oil & atf change. They were near closing, but once I talked to Kevin and explained my situation he said theyd be happy to help. After getting dinner I picked up my car and spoke with their tech Andrew. He was extremely informative and even alerted me to a small issue that developed recently. 11/10 would recommend.

This is not the first auto repair center I ever visited but it did won my favor by their professional skills. My girlfriends car was hit in an incident then we came to them. Wonderful courteous and helpful place. Kevin is so helpful and points out cost saving measures you can take. They are always busy because their fees are so reasonable and their staff is SOOO friendly. Its a great place to go, even in an emergency, they will always try to work something out. 5 stars...highly, highly recommended.

A few months ago I was doing some more work on my car. I needed to replace the sway bar links on my Saturn. I was caught off guard by a frozen bolt and took it down the road to San Carlos Auto-- they got me in and out in no time, and even provided a ride back from my apartment to their shop to pick the car up. Wow! Awesome shop. Stop looking for any other shop and pick up the phone and bring your car here. First thing you notice is how clean and well organized the shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable, provided a detailed write up and the status of my Jetta. Just excellent.
